MOONDANCE RETREAT is a beautiful, spacious, recently renovated, Townhouse in the Rumbling Bald Resort located on the northern end of Lake Lure. Nestled in the quiet Mountain Village neighborhood provides solitude & a peaceful atmosphere, while being only minutes from all the activities in the resort.

The layout of this home lends itself to lots of individual privacy for reading, napping, etc., but also provides great space for time together with the whole group.

The main level is home to a large living room w/wood burning fireplace, 40" flat screen TV, an adjoining den w/queen sleeper sofa, the gorgeous newly renovated, fully equipped kitchen, the dining room w/seating for six (6) & a bar w/additional seating for three (3). Sliding glass doors lead from the living room out to the large, full length deck.

Downstairs is the Master Bedroom w/Queen Bed & Sitting Area, and a newly renovated Master Bath w/ walk-in shower & jetted tub. A guest bedroom w/queen bed & a second full bath with tub/shower are on this level as well. Each bedroom has a small private deck w/table & chairs for enjoying that morning cup of coffee, or late night glass of wine. Upstairs is a fantastic bunk room w/two (2) twin beds & a third full bath w/walk-in shower.

With this Townhouse, you will have full access to all resort amenities, including two (2) swimming pools, private beach, lazy river, basketball & tennis courts, mini golf, & much more.

We loved the accomodations at Moondance! It was very well stocked with everything you need, spacious for the three couples that we stayed with and made our trip to Lake Lure most enjoyable.

Accommodations as advertised. Worked well for our family. We had two questions that we had to contact staff for - one was in the billing process when we registered and the other was a minor question when we entered the property. Both times the staff responded quickly and handled our concerns promptly and in way that we were pleased with.

I will start this review on the positive note.... A home away from home feel with beautiful views of the forest and greet location from Rumbling bald! Comfortable and clean with plenty of space with the exception of upstairs bedroom which is insanely hot! If u stay here with no issues with customer service u should have a great time! So to the cons, upon arrival was notified that maintenance/repair man would be replacing dishwasher door, (ok no worries). When we arrived, we found numerous suitcases in every room and coolers in kitchen! Contacted (Debbie) and explained situation. She replied with previous tenants left 5 days ago no idea why there's luggage in condo. Asked us if we were sure we are at the right location provided her with the address, door code, etc. on itinerary and booking from vrbo. So after bringing in all our luggage and removing all other luggage, we get a call from her saying WE are in the wrong house!? Thankfully maintenance S. arrives and explains that repair man mistakenly let wrong residents in thinking they were us! Seriously! Upon departure I get an email stating there is a pass missing and we are being charged $100! after back and forth with (Melissa) excusing his actions and taking no accountability, she ultimately refunded the fee with a Horrible negative attitude! Definitely do not recommend due to the negligence and horrible attitudes of Debbie and Melissa! There are plenty of other beautiful homes located on the water!

Our two daughters, one son-in-law and 2 grandchildren joined us for the week. The house was perfect to accommodate the three families, from space to cleanliness, well stocked (desperately need new can opener!), great location and the bonus of access to Rumbling Bald Lake was wonderful! We plan to come back. Thank you for a lovely home away from home.

Pros: Condo was comfortable and incredibly clean. Our family has vacationed many times to Lake Lure and to other locations. This place was the cleanest we’ve ever seen. Condo was exactly what our family of five needed. The location is quiet and outside of the resort. No traffic to worry about. The front gate of the resort is less than a minute drive away. The condo looks like it was recently renovated. Flooring looks brand new, furniture looks and feels new. Appliances are excellent. The gas grill is outstanding- Weber gas. The beds feel new too but definitely on the firm side. The hosts/hostesses were gracious and allowed us a noon checkout because there wasn’t a guest arriving on our checkout day. Cons: The property is not inside the Rumbling Bald resort. The front gate is less than a minute away by drive. The rental does have passes for inside the resort. Before booking, I explicitly asked the hosts/hostesses of the rental if it was inside the resort. I was told it was. Unfortunately, it is not. This might not matter to many guests because this rental is so close to the front gate. However, we have family with rentals inside the resort and we have access to their golf carts within the resort. Therefore, we could not use those golf carts with a home outside the resort. It would have been nice to know prior to booking. Also, the listing says it has a wood burning fireplace. After booking, I was informed that this rental only allows Duraflame logs for the fireplace

As usual, the place was in immaculate condition and all the folks at Exclusive were beyond helpful. It gets better each time we go back and it seems like the owners just keep adding little touches like the RB passes in the lanyards by the door. We go to RB every year and we'll stay in Moondance every single time if possible!!! Thanks again!

The house was lovely but be sure to read the fine print about what this company considers “amenities”. They have a very specific expectation for disposing of trash which includes putting it in your personal vehicle to take to an offsite location but do not make you aware of this until check in when you read the house manual. They also do not provide more than 2 trash bags. And these are thin, clear, office-style waste basket trash bags. You would think with an expectation like this, the least they could do is provide durable, thick trash bags. So be sure to pack those. Not providing laundry detergent is understandable and we didn’t plan on during laundry until our daughter became car sick coming up the mountain and we had to clean out a car seat. No detergent. No trash bags. Welcome to your VRBO. I also dislike that this management company does not communicate through the VRBO app. Separate emails, a house manual but nothing that holds them accountable. If you’re looking for a lovely home but no hospitality, this is the correct place.

We had a wonderful trip to Moondance Retreat! The townhouse had ample space for my family of 7. It was so nice to have a bath for each bedroom We ALL (ages 9-80) loved the amenities of Rambling Bald, which were included in the rental. We hope to be back in the future!

The property was ready upon arrival. We comfortably slept 8 guests. The bathrooms are updated and sanitized. We would definitely return to this Retreat. The only amenities we would like to see are TV/Cable in each bedrm and also attempt to curb the slight "musty odor" in the 2 bottom floor bedrooms. We definitely give it 4.5 out of 5.0 stars!! Thank you for a lovely, peaceful stay!!

We had a group of 7 for a weekend stay. We attended a wedding at the Rumbling Bald Resort and the convenience of being able to drive 2 minutes was amazing! Accommodations were wonderful, everyone slept great and had plenty of space to get ready and relax. Definitely recommend

This is a clean welcoming place for your family. The company that runs it offers the little "extras" that help for example..dish detergent, cofee packs, a few bottles of water and other things to get you started. You do have to drive to the resort but it's just a couple of minutes. This is a townhouse and there will be people right next to you but we never noticed anything from inside the house, you just have to share the parking area. It wasnt a problem for us at all. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. Here's a couple of helpful hints for future guest.. -There is only one TV in the house. Not a problem really but it would have been nice for another in a bedroom for the teenagers. -Lots of stairs, if thats a problem for you. -The A/C barely reaches the top bedrooms so bring a fan. -the bottom bedrooms are freezing so plan accordingly.

Gorgeous house with everything you need and plenty of space. Maybe 2 min from Rumbling bald resort and all amenities. Only cons were no TVs in any bedroom and the master bedroom bed was too firm for us. No big deal would definitely recommend and stay again!

The house was nice & clean. Great TV and nice book of things to do. Not for the handicapped, though. Stairs going up to main level, stairs going up to bedroom, and stairs going down to main bedrooms. Not a "welcoming" experience. We were hit with a list of Do Nots, and fines if this or that occurs. They must have had prior bad experiences with guests (?)

My family and I had a very relaxing weekend at Moondance Retreat. The house was clean and updated. The abundance of trees gave a beautiful and peaceful scenic view. The home was located in a very quiet neighborhood, not too far from dining and Rumbling Bald Resort activities.

The house was very nice and could not have been more conveniently located to the wedding venue. Heat and air worked very well but because of the three levels not very well balanced (comfy on main level, warm on upper level and chilly on the lowest level). Had a little trouble with the door lock too, it was kind of temperamental, sometimes it opened on the first try and the next time it took two or three attempts. I think it's wearing out. Anyway house was nice, clean and we enjoyed our stay. Great for a family get away.

This was a very nice property and very well stocked kitchen. Often when we have rented Places there is not enough flatware, plates, glasses pots, pans etc. The beds were comfy and the baths nice. The only problems were late notice of Christmas tree and fireplace restrictions. Also the heat was a problem. The thermastat was located in the middle floor. Consequently the 3rd floor was "tropical" the middle floor ok but the bottom floor was "artic". We live in a three story home and had to add a second unit to handle the problem. Maybe a booster for the ground floor would be in order. But other than that , it is well maintained and very convenient to amenities and activities.

Had a wonderful time. Came for a wedding and the house was perfect and more than enough space for 6 of us. It was better than it was described. Because it was a quick trip we didn't take advantage of any amenities but it looked like everything was there that you would ever need.

Wow! This place is amazing! The pictures truly don’t do it justice! It’s way larger AND way nicer! The cleanliness of this place was incredible. There was more than enough space for our group of 6 (4 adults/2 kiddos) and the icing on the top was the kids room upstairs! The other great thing was the location...maybe a 2 min car ride into the resort!In quick summary, the management co. Was amazing and super friendly! The house is amazing. Location was perfect. Would we stay here again??? Yes....definitely!

The condo was beautiful and clean - much larger than it looked from the outside. The back porch made you feel like you are in a treehouse high in the trees. The breeze kept you from getting too hot and we spent are days on the lake paddle boarding, floating, and swimming. Great amenities at the resort too. Great stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and the location was excellent to both Lake Lure, the resort and Chimney Rock. We packed in lots of adventure in our 5 day stay from tubing with Lake Lure Adventures (5 stars- Eli was the best captain), zip-linging at Canopy Ridge (5 stars - Gabe & Heather deserve 6 stars), hiking the falls at Chimney Rock and SUP boarding at the resort. Not to mention the pool, beach, tennis, chess and basketball that our family of 5 enjoyed (ages 6, 11 & 17). The house was equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen, the rooms/bathrooms were tidy & clean and Melissa was a pleasure to work with at Exclusive Mountain Properties. If I had one thing I would bring next time it would be a fan for the upstairs bedroom. It tended to be warmer (heat rises) than the lower levels but my boys didn't mind. We can't wait to visit Lake Lure again!

We had a wonderful stay. The layout of the house / bedrooms is very intelligent especially when you have little kids. The kitchen was updated and fully stocked with cookware and cultery so making meals and eating at home was easy. I only wish the condo was located in the Rumbling Bald resort. You "could" walk there in a few minutes but it is a windy road and difficult if you have bags or a stroller so be prepared when you want to go down to the resort as coming back and forth requires a car. Otherwise it is a great place to stay and relax.
