MOONDANCE RETREAT is a beautiful, spacious, recently renovated, Townhouse in the Rumbling Bald Resort located on the northern end of Lake Lure. Nestled in the quiet Mountain Village neighborhood provides solitude & a peaceful atmosphere, while being only minutes from all the activities in the resort.
The layout of this home lends itself to lots of individual privacy for reading, napping, etc., but also provides great space for time together with the whole group.
The main level is home to a large living room w/wood burning fireplace, 40" flat screen TV, an adjoining den w/queen sleeper sofa, the gorgeous newly renovated, fully equipped kitchen, the dining room w/seating for six (6) & a bar w/additional seating for three (3). Sliding glass doors lead from the living room out to the large, full length deck.
Downstairs is the Master Bedroom w/Queen Bed & Sitting Area, and a newly renovated Master Bath w/ walk-in shower & jetted tub. A guest bedroom w/queen bed & a second full bath with tub/shower are on this level as well. Each bedroom has a small private deck w/table & chairs for enjoying that morning cup of coffee, or late night glass of wine. Upstairs is a fantastic bunk room w/two (2) twin beds & a third full bath w/walk-in shower.
With this Townhouse, you will have full access to all resort amenities, including two (2) swimming pools, private beach, lazy river, basketball & tennis courts, mini golf, & much more.
*This home is NOT a pet friendly home (with the exception of registered service animals - proof will be required)

We loved the accomodations at Moondance! It was very well stocked with everything you need, spacious for the three couples that we stayed with and made our trip to Lake Lure most enjoyable.

Accommodations as advertised. Worked well for our family. We had two questions that we had to contact staff for - one was in the billing process when we registered and the other was a minor question when we entered the property. Both times the staff responded quickly and handled our concerns promptly and in way that we were pleased with.

Perfect location! Amenities make it very enjoyable. The pool along with the lazy river are our favorites. Also hit to enjoy the fireworks!

The house was lovely but be sure to read the fine print about what this company considers “amenities”. They have a very specific expectation for disposing of trash which includes putting it in your personal vehicle to take to an offsite location but do not make you aware of this until check in when you read the house manual. They also do not provide more than 2 trash bags. And these are thin, clear, office-style waste basket trash bags. You would think with an expectation like this, the least they could do is provide durable, thick trash bags. So be sure to pack those.
Not providing laundry detergent is understandable and we didn’t plan on during laundry until our daughter became car sick coming up the mountain and we had to clean out a car seat. No detergent. No trash bags. Welcome to your VRBO.
I also dislike that this management company does not communicate through the VRBO app. Separate emails, a house manual but nothing that holds them accountable.
If you’re looking for a lovely home but no hospitality, this is the correct place.
