Had reserved for 12 people but only 10 showed up. House was accommodating. Had black mold and musty smelling. Only one shower worked for 10 people. Grill was filthy, did not get to use. House needs major cleaning and repairs.

We took a 4th of July weekend trip to Galveston and loved our time at this home in Jamaica Beach. It is literally minutes from the beach and close to stores and local restaurants. Galveston is a short trip away if you need to make a grocery store run or explore the town. The home itself is nicely laid out and very accommodating with ample parking, multiple bathrooms, screened patio, bunk bed room for children, ceiling fans, Smart TVs, and much more. The host was excellent with communication before, during and after the stay to help ensure we had a good experience. Thank you!

The location is great. The bedding had not been washed, windows are filthy, large roaches in the home especially in the kitchen, the kitchen floor had not been mopped, wall panels are bulging, outside bathroom had not been cleaned in a long time. Dryer did not dry clothes. This property needs a little more TLC and cleanliness. I have stayed in quite a few Jamaica Beach homes and this home was by far the worse I have seen.

The bunk beds and other beds were perfect for Our sleeping arrangements. The owner kept us up to date with any notices. She was excellent to rent from for our rental. If we have another rental in the future, we will look for this house again! Thank you!

This was a large house with places for everyone! The house had all the necessities and was close to beach access. The owner was very helpful and responsive when we ran into a few snags during our stay. She over-compensated for issues very quickly! The 4th bedroom access through the 3rd bedroom was a little surprise upon arrival, but it all worked out ok. I would recommend this house for anyone’s vacation needs to Galveston/Jamaica Beach!

The house was adequate but not very roomy for the 10 it reports to host. Rooms were cramped. Kitchen cabinets were in disarray, not well stocked for cooking for a large group. The floor of the house was dirty upon arrival. Dog food and a water bowl were left from previous person. There were large empty water bottles left next to a water dispenser but not usable. The countertop ice maker also did not work. The chairs in the storage were usable but the boogie boards were broken. Thought it was on the water since it documents a water slip for boat, no water can be seen from this location.

The Great Room had plenty of space ... Kitchen adequate but cabinets in disarray unorganized. The screened porch was great to enjoy the Gulf Breezes and was pet friendly along with fenced dog area. New Outside shower worked well for sandy beach goers. I knew it was an older property but Sadly I had to clean on arrival to feel comfortable. I am not a germaphobe ... But I do like clean. I sprayed all bathrooms down with foaming disinfectant cleaner. I had to clean dirty surfaces and tables outside before use. I was disappointed and it made me wonder how well the house was cleaned. I would reccomend at least a deep cleaning at start of the season. Including powerwash of the house and porch. The sills were dirty ... Not just lite dust. Outside side tables too not even wiped. And the George Foreman Grill ... Nasty very disgusting. I had to just tell myself NOT to get a bucket & rags to clean and look past the dirt. I was there to enjoy time in Galveston ... Not to deep clean the property. Once past that it was time with friends and family that was enjoyed. The imperfections made it easier to relax and not worry with kids and pets running around having a good time . it was enjoyed overall. I know Melissa is making improvements ... A good scrubbing would be worth the investment. Thank you.

Not as listed! Not close to the beach. The house is located at the last/furthest street in neighborhood. More than 15 minutes to walk to the beach. Too many mosquitoes. When we arrived, lot of trash was there in front of the house. We checked out on Tuesday, it all was still there even though manager told us that trash is always scheduled to be picked up on Monday morning. Terrible!

There are a lot of rules, but it's worth it and they totally make sense. The house was amazing and the location was perfect for our 4th of July stay. We stayed a handful of days and there wee about 12 of us. We all had a blast. The house has everything you need to have a great time!

We had an overall great experience. The house is close to the beach but not quit the 2 blocks away as listed. The house was clean and stocked. The only drawn back was the smell of smoke on our intial entry, one of the rooms beds was wabbly, and one of the room had to walkthrough another room to gain access. Other than that we liked the house and the area.

We enjoyed time with children and grandchildren. The small gated fenced in area was great for both dogs and toddlers. Very secure. We also enjoyed the porch. Neighborhood was quiet, even with spring break! House is 0.7 miles from the beaches, but that was ok — we could walk or drive there easily when we wanted. But we mainly enjoyed the house and getting back together at the end (hopefully) of the pandemic! Plenty of room in the house for our party of nine.

We had a great time at this casual beach property. It was nice having 4 separate bedrooms. Some properties have the same number of beds but no privacy. We liked being able to be at the beach in 3 minutes by car or golfcart. We also brought down our boat and the manager was super, super helpful with getting us boat ramp access. The kitchen was very well stocked. The WiFi worked very well. We were there at a busy time, but we would get to the beach early, set up our canopy and chairs and back our car right up to our spot. You can't do that all beaches. A lot of small grocery stores etc around. Everything is convenient. Would stay here again.

The house has plenty of room for lots of guests. The living room has an awesome couch perfect for everybody to hang out on. The dog run was perfect for our dogs. The AC was very cold. However, the pictures do not really show the work that needs to be done on the property. There is a picture describing the "new" changing room downstairs. The pictures must be old because the white shutter doors have broken and missing slats. The sink inside was gross and we reported it to the owner. She said they would mention it to the cleaning service. I also took pictures of the downstairs shower and toilet that is billed as the third full bathroom. They were also gross and no one in my family would go in there to use them but preferred to hose off in the backyard. I told the owner and was told that it was just a place to rinse off, so they didn't see a problem with it. The wood paneling in many of the rooms is bowing out from the walls. The bathroom door to our bathroom was dingy and cracked at the bottom. In the bathroom I used with my children the fixtures were rusted as well as in the shower. While my oldest was taking a shower, a roach crawled out of the fixture and onto her leg. I reported it to the owner and she said bugs happen and that since I'm from Houston I should know that about roaches. The toilet in the main shower wasn't working and I texted the owner about it. My dad was able to make it work for our weekend there. The ice maker in the refrigerator doesn't work, so you find out in the check in paperwork that you have to bring your own ice. The fridge also is missing all but two of the shelves on the door, and one of them is cracked and broken. The pantry is an old wooden cupboard that I wouldn't put food in. In it I found some rusted metal utensils. Every room has a fan, but when we turned them on almost every one of them were loud and creaky and had to be adjusted or turned off. The washing machine was barely usable due to the buttons in the panel having fallen out of the panel. The refrigerator downstairs in the laundry room is rimmed in mold and mildew. I would not use it. And in the check in paperwork you will notice that you are told multiple times in bold print that if ANY sand is found anywhere in the house that you will lose part of your deposit. The owner even included this message in her reply when I texted her about the roach. I do not understand this. Isn't that why we pay a cleaning fee?

This place was an authentic beach house experience. It had plenty of sleeping space and personal space for my family. We enjoyed having the outdoor shower, although mosquitoes were bad this time of year, and space for our cars. We did not utilize the outdoor patio and BBQ because of mosquitoes and the storm that blew in, but having the option was great. The beach is a short drive or bike ride across the way where you can park on the beach. Restaurants were near to us and I do highly recommend Brick House Tavern, especially if you have a large group! We would stay again in the future!

The house is about 11 blocks from the beach. The beach can only fit about 10 cars on the beach and we were able to park both days. It's kind of private and that makes it nice. The home has a nice large living room. Like any home, there are normal wear and tear. The price was amazing and the kids had a great time! The parking was plenty for 5 cars. We had our golf cart and took a truck to the beach and golf carted back to the house if needed. The kids biked the neighborhood and it did not have a lot of traffic. Great for family get together or any other large groups.

We loved this rental house even though it was under renovations we were please. We traveled from Dallas and My daughter with her family from Austin and My Son with his family from Weslaco, The area was quite and peaceful , the kids were able to bunk together. The AC was cold which I love that and it was clean when we arrived. It has a gas grill which makes it easier to cook burgers. We will stay here again. It was our first time renting this beach house and it was absolutely stellar! We had a family of 13 people. The house is spacious and close to the beach. The house was fully equipped with everything that you'll need. Melissa provided clear house instructions on arrival and departure. Everything is easy to access with her instructions. I would recommend staying at her location if you are looking to have a great time with family and friends! There was some dings on the house due to the age and location but just make sure you take before and after pictures to cover yourself. Other than they everything was perfect. AC blows Cold! Pets are also allowed with a deposit fee!

Overall we were satisfied with the rental. It was very spacious and we had plenty of room to spread out and relax. Just a few minor things need to be addressed: 1. When we arrived, several of the light bulbs in the house were burnt out. We had to make a run to Wal-Mart to purchase more. 2. The Wii console was missing. The unit had all of the other Wii "stuff" (controllers, Rock Band attachments, controller extensions, games, etc.) but the actual console wasn't there. Very strange. 3. The dryer's timer function didn't work. I put in a load of towels to dry before going to bed and when I woke up the load was still drying. I set the timer for 30 minutes but the dial never moved and the towels were still going the next morning. I'm surprised it didn't start a fire they were so hot. For our next loads, I tried other knob settings but they didn't work either. So I kept the time on my phone and would go down and check every 20 minutes. But we liked the house and the location. It was easy to get to the beach and the rooms were clean. Plenty of towels and sheets. If we come to Galveston again and need a rental to sleep more than 5 people, we will rent this one again.
