The Cricket -- A Tiny House on Clear Creek 3 minutes from downtown

Easy walk to downtown Georgetown while still feeling somewhat secluded. Very cozy and peaceful place to stay. It is tiny but has everything you need for a short stay and enough room we were able to put our dog's crate near the bed without being in the way. Host was easy to communicate with and the whole place was very clean

Exactly as advertised—such a precious cottage with so much character. Being a 1920s build, it definitely comes with the quirks you’d expect. The floors are very creaky (one specific spot right before the bathroom is especially loud), so if someone gets up during the night, it will likely wake you. The bed also has quite a bit of movement, so light sleepers may notice when a partner shifts. We didn’t get the best sleep because of those things—but again, that’s part of staying in an older home and not something I’d take stars off for. If anything, a small rug in that area before the bathroom might help dampen some of the noise. For future guests who are light sleepers, I’d just recommend bringing earplugs.The host was wonderful, the town is absolutely precious, and there are so many great hiking spots nearby. The river just outside the door is incredible—you can even open the windows and hear it, which was such a peaceful highlight.Overall, a 5-star stay and exactly what you’d expect from a cozy, historic cottage—I’m only mentioning the noise so other light sleepers can plan accordingly. Earplugs would be helpful or maybe opening all of the windows at night (it was too cold for us to do that). This is a precious, memorable stay. 5 stars.

Our third stay at the Cricket! Gets better every time.. Love sitting outside listening to the roar of Clear Creek.
