By far, my #1 reason to stay here is Clear Creek. The cabin sits right on the creek, the view is breathtaking and the roar of the water soothes the soul. It's magical. Although the property is close to I-70, you would never know. The sound of the creek drowns out any traffic noise from the highway. The Cricket is entirely surrounded by evergreens, aspens and the creek, and you can't see your neighbors. The result is feeling like you are removed from the rest of the world.
The price is reasonable, and the cabin, (tiny but well stocked) is perfect for two people. In addition, Robin so helpful and prompt in replying to questions.
My stay here was good for my soul, and I can't wait to return.

Perfect location… perfect tiny house… the creek is amazing… a gem in the mountains. Thanks for the memories

I booked this property from the pictures I viewed on the internet. The cabin is small, but has everything you would need for an enjoyable stay for two people. All basics are supplied. You do have to put the Murphy bed up and down each day. The bed is comfortable.
I did not realize how close the cabin is to the creek and being spring time it was high water and made us a little nervous how close the water was to the cabin and how fast the water was. In fact the last night of our stay we stayed at a motel.
The owner did reply quickly to our questions.

Our third stay at the Cricket! Gets better every time.. Love sitting outside listening to the roar of Clear Creek.

This is my second time staying here, and I plan on coming back. One you are in the parking lot, all you hear is the sound of the creek. The table and chairs is a great addition. The only thing I would like, is a big table outside. Eating outside by the creek is the best, I spent more time there, than inside.
Definitely a great place with 1-2 people. Close to Georgetown and not far from Idaho Springs.

What a beautiful little perfect cabin. With Clear Creek less than 10 feet away, the setting could not be any prettier. The Cricket was sparkling clean and everything worked very well. Our hosts were very friendly and super-responsive too. We'll definitely be back to stay in this little gem.

The cabin was as pictured online. Quaint, clean, had everything we needed. The creek was the highlight. Even with light rain we enjoyed sitting in the chairs for morning coffee or standing under the protection of a tree mesmerized by the beauty surrounding us. One morning woke up to a family of mule deer having breakfast at the end of the driveway. The Cricket was everything we expected and more. Looking forward to our next stay. Thank you Robin, for sharing your peace of paradise.

This cabin is the perfect place to get away from it all! Town is just down the road, but feels like you're miles away. We enjoyed going out, but preferred staying "home". Absolutely loved it, will definitely be back!

Thank you so much for a lovely place for us to "relax" and just enjoy the beautiful mountain views. The Cricket is so lovely and so well loved and maintained. It felt like home! Thank you so much Robin for making our stay just perfect! All the little "extra's" that you provide made all the difference! We loved it!

We loved staying there but some things could be upgraded. Sheets for one.
All in all it’s an adorable cottage.

This place is the cutest I’ve ever been, the house is cozy and well managed. The town close by is filled with the most fantastic people and food. Such a historic place that has to be preserved. We’re coming back here many more times!

Our stay at the Cricket was amazing. It really is a small slice of heaven. It feels remote but you are only a short walk to dining, shopping, and entertainment.

We had a wonderful time at The Cricket, except that the weather was stubborn- very windy and cold- Who knew, in the month of December 😉.
Otherwise, our stay and Georgetown Christmas Market was a wonderful experience. Thank you!

We loved our time at the Cricket. The location so close to historic Georgetown and right on a beautiful creek was peaceful and convenient. The cabin is nestled between two mountains so there is always something to look at, while sitting creekside.
The cabin is configured well with a full kitchen. We made most of our meals there, although there are several nice options for breakfast, lunch and dinner in town - two local breweries too! We took advantage of several great day trips - Guanella Pass, Mt Evans, Rocky Mountain National Park, plus some historic tours within Georgetown. I wish we would have booked a longer stay!

I don't usually write reviews, but this one deserves it! The cabin was tiny, but absolutely perfect for my husband, myself & our 2 poms. We loved the creek that rolls down from the mountain. It's what staying in the mountains is all about & should be. There's a nice sitting area we loved by the creek, my husband caught fish every morning. We only wished we could've stay longer! If we ever come back to Colorado we'll definitely be renting here! It was perfect for our 20th anniversary

Robin, the host, is an excellent communicator and very accommodating.
The landscaping is beautiful. The lot is cozy and although the neighboring houses are close, we never saw anyone else. The outdoor sitting area is perfect!
The cottage is cozy although the bathroom is a bit tight.
Plenty of linens, blankets and even Kuerig cups and most kitchen supplies.
You can easily walk to the old downtown and enjoy a Chai latte. We walked around to the walking bridge above the cottage, too.
Cute cottage. Cute town.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again sometime.

It was everything we hoped for and more. The water rushing in the creek was soothing, beautiful, and was where we sat for morning coffee while reading. Easy walk to town, great place for doing nothing or lots of things. Close to Guanella pass and so worth the 30 minute drive to the top! We will be back again and look forward to being there in winter. Thanks for everything!

Location is truly wonderful and the rushing River was awe-inspiring

As many have noted, this cottage lies close to the beautiful downtown of Georgetown, an historic town in a stunning steep forested valley. As also noted, the cottage is extremely small, but just adequate for up to two small people. We visited during a multi-day snowstorm so we did not use the outdoor table and chairs charmingly situated next to the rushing Clear Creek but they looked inviting and would be great in good weather. The property is well-equipped with everything you need, and the Wi-Fi and TV worked well. But there were a few issues. First, there was no lightbulb in the fixture above the front door so, if it's dark, you have to use a phone or flashlight but, because the outside lock is a cylinder/combination padlock, you need three hands to open it and hold the light source. Second, the threshold between the living area and the bathroom is several inches high and at a 90 degree angle - very easy to stub your toe. Third, although Thyou can hear the soothing sound of the creek while in the cottage, the refrigerator frequently makes a noise that drowns out the creek and woke me several times in the night. Fourth, we could never find out how to turn on the overhead lights in the living area/kitchen. Fifth, all of the furniture is old and shabby, appearing like cast-offs.But the most irritating aspect was the pricing system. By the time the cleaning fee, taxes, a service fee (supposedly so VRBO can provide "24-hour customer service" but I was on hold for over an hour trying to retrieve the damage deposit), and a property damage insurance policy I was compelled to buy were added in, the total fee was over 50% higher than the listed rental fee.Although we had no trouble getting out of the front yard where you park, it is fairly steep and could be an issue in icy weather.

Perfect cabin for 2

Seamless check in/check out. Well lit drive. Tons of stars in the night sky! The water gets HOT and be gentle w the pressure in the bathroom sink. Don't recommend looking in the wooden box on the game shelf.

The Cricket was the perfect escape we needed & we were sad to leave. The cabin itself was tidy & toasty. From this location we were able to easily explore several national parks, took relatively short drives to Breckinridge & Vail, & even drove out to Grand Junction, CO. The only suggestion I would have is to bring a bag of salt in winter (which is probably a good idea in general). We had a shovel provided for the driveway, & the lane (which is a pretty steep, narrow hill) is plowed, but it wasn’t salted. So we fish tailed our way up & down the lane a couple times while trying to back into the driveway after a snow. We eventually got it, but even being from a snowy state it wasn’t exactly easy. But it’s a small price to pay for some peace & quiet! 100% recommend.

Such a lovely weekend away. The property is small but has everything you may need. The location is beautiful and within walking distance of downtown Georgetown. Would stay here again and again!
