Easy check in with keys in a lockbox, and good communication from the owner. I like the look of the accommodation - more traditional, not modern and white. Facilities were fine - 2 bathrooms (upstairs shower is only suitable for short children), dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, coffee machine, and TV with HDMI input. Wifi was fast enough for streaming. All good. It's about a 10min downhill walk to the gondola (uphill on the way back, obviously). Rent a locker and leave your gear near the gondola (or at the top if you're not going to ski back down). There's a nice outdoor bar on the corner which we enjoyed a drink apres-ski (as the apres-ski directly off the bottom of the piste is almost non-existent, and a bit of a disappointment).
A few issues to report I'm afraid - the pillows were terrible. It would not be expensive to buy 4 decent pillows for guests to sleep on. and keep the current 4 as secondary pillows (only 1 bad pillow each means no sitting up in bed reading or having tea/coffee - they were so uncomfortable, and after all, you're on holiday). Smoke filled the whole accommodation whenever the neighbouring properties had a fire. When we got home all our clothes smelled of smoke! If your neighbours come home at midnight and start a party or even a conversation, you will hear EVERYTHING. Insulation is non-existent. Luckily this didn't happen every night, but it's frustrating if you or your children get woken up and can't sleep because of the loud noise. Parking - there is a space included, but you will need a tiny car to manoeuvre down there and back up. If you are a family with 4 suitcases and a family size car, you should assume you can't use the included parking. There is a car park 1 min away, but I had to contact the owner because it wasn't clear how to pay for parking. Machine only takes coins - everything is only in Catalan, so get your eSim installed ASAP (use the Grandvalira app to get 2GB for €7.50 for 2 weeks) and use Google Translate! Lots of people in car park having similar problems. Finally worked out how to pay online - but then payment declined/not possible. Very frustrating start to the holiday. In the end I found out that the big main car park next to the Gondola is FREE so I left the car down there all week - wish this had been better communicated before arrival as it would avoid stress! Overall we enjoyed our stay here, it was rather expensive for the region (£1600 for a week during Feb half term) but we had very limited options due to booking too late. Tip: Don't book the Grandvalira El Tarter VELL ski lockers if you have afternoon ski lessons - they close before the afternoon ski lesson ends!

Great location, about 7min walking from the El Tarter Gondola. A room with a double bed and another one with two single beds, plus a sofa bed in the living room. Kitchen is well equipped and fully functional. Very well maintained and perfect for a group up to 5 people. Communication with host was super easy and friendly.
The first floor shower doesn't have much headroom so probably best to use the one on the ground floor. The garage entry is a bit tight, if you bring a 9 seater van it won't fit.
