About this house rental
Conveniently located in the heart of the upper peninsula just minutes from Pictured Rocks, Lake Superior, dozens of waterfalls and endless outdoor activities and adventures. AuTrain River Cottages are located in a private association that is quiet and beautiful. There is about a 100 yards of river frontage to enjoy and relax next to. Some Cottages are pet friendly and range from one bedroom to 3 bedrooms and can accommodate from one to 8 guests. Each Cottage has all amenities included like WiFi, towels, linens, blankets, pillows and cooking supplies. There is a fire-pit area for guests to enjoy a fire w/a view of the river and wood can be purchased locally.Also included is a gas grill w/propane, and one free standard kayak rental from Da Ya Shak. Launching of the canoe is on site and shuttle service is available. Additional kayaks are available for rent. Mooring your own boat is a possibility, contact me for details.
This Cottage, "Riverside" is newer than the surrounding cottages. The old Riverside Resort was built in the 40s and this cottage sits on the site of the old bait house and office. In 1998 the bait house was torn down and this cottage was built. It is approximately 700 sqft. and has 2 bedrooms and one bath. Both bedrooms have queen beds with all linens, blankets and pillows provided. The kitchen is fully stocked with all cookware, dinnerware etc for your use. There is a TV with cable and WiFi available. The couch pulls out for additional sleeping . There is grill for this cottage with gas included and chairs for seating outdoors.
The AuTrain River provides excellent swimming, and canoeing/kayaking as it winds 12 miles through the Hiawatha National Forest. Further down river puts you into Lake Superior and quite possibly the best beach on all of Lake Superior. Up river is the beautiful AuTrain Lake which provides a wonderful place to enjoy water sports, fishing or just a relaxing cruise. Bass, Walleye or Pike are your most commonly fished.
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore located in Munising is only 15 minutes away and there are over a dozen waterfalls within a 30 mile radius. The National Lakeshore provides days worth of outdoor activities. If you are into fishing, Trout and Salmon are the most commonly fished in Lake Superior.
I have seen nearly everything in this area and am a great resource during your stay. I will meet with you after you arrive and give you advice about the area and things you can enjoy during your vacation.

No one book this so I can book it literally everyday forever. It's so cute and stocked I love it. 3 days wasn't long enough. Plus, it's SURROUNDED by waterfalls and things to do. Plus the host responds anytime you need him.

This cottage was great for our family. It is located right on the river bank in a quiet area. The living room and kitchen were roomy, and the bedrooms plenty big.It was clean and well stocked with kitchen ware, and paper products.The outside area was great for sitting as a group, having an evening around the fire pit, or sticking your feet in the river. We had paddle boarders and swimmers with us that took advantage of being riverside. Nobody brought a fishing pole, so I don’t know about fishing there. We all agreed that we would stay there again.

It was a cute place on the river, biggest complaint was the coffee maker had old coffee left in it, and was full of mold they said they would get us a new one, then brought us a used one, was disappointed about being lied to
