About this cottage rental
Our 1998 home we built has a high ceiling and good light with a modern and cozy cape feeling. It has a sun porch and a secluded back deck that backs up to the boundary of the National Seashore. You can walk to two of its most of its famous "kettle" ponds - one popular with families, the other hidden and walk-in only. Modern amenities. Good wireless, TV, and appliances. Enclosed outdoor shower. Cooling and heat in all rooms. ping pong table in the basement. and Extra beach chairs, and skim boards if needed. Solar power. Master bedroom 1st floor.King bed; 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor with queen bed; a standard bed in the study.

We’ve been coming to Wellfleet for a week each summer for years and each time we rent a different place, always hoping for the right combination of beauty and comfort for a reasonable price. We were delighted by this well-stocked home in a private, beautiful spot among the trees, yet only a 5-minute drive from town. The decor is vibrant and interesting. The owners were responsive when we had a question about the thermostat, and there was none of the stinginess of other rentals, where we’ve had to bring our own toilet paper, dish soap, etc. You do need to rent or bring sheets or towels (for some reason this is standard for the area—and after a snafu with the only local rental option, I’d bring our own next time), but all the other necessaries are provided, including grilling equipment to make the most of the fabulous fresh seafood at Hatche’s market. There’s an outdoor shower, a lovely back deck, and a fabulous screened sunroom for maximum bug-free communing with nature. Although it was cool during most of our week there, it was so nice to have the a/c when it did get too warm. A major bonus: mattresses from the current century, which is unusual in our experience! And a room with a king, no less—a rare find! If comfortable sleep is important to you, I think you’ll be happy here. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Thank you! The house was spacious, bright and airy. It had everything we could have needed in the kitchen as well as for the beach. A lovely walking distance to town (about a mile). The location is quiet and lovely and yet close to both bay and ocean beaches. We loved our week in Wellfleet - thanks!

This house is lovely and in a perfect location to get to the ponds, the ocean beaches, and Wellfleet center. It is a very comfortable house, with a well-stocked kitchen, and a great porch. Lots of windows brought the breezes in every day. Plus our dog was very happy being with us, running in the woods and on the beaches. It was a great spot for us.
