About this cottage rental

An Acail sleeps four with two bedrooms, one shower room and one bathroom with spa bath.

An additional bedroom with en-suite shower room can be booked on request at an extra cost, please enquire for further details.

Out of season, we offer discounted prices for two guests (sharing master bedroom).

An Acail, originally an agricultural barn, and converted to a self catering holiday cottage owned and run by Iain and Jeanne. Iain and Jeanne did most of the work themselves and the cottage is finished to a high standard.

The cottage is on the outskirts of Stornoway town centre and is perfectly located for exploring the Islands of Lewis and Harris. The Islands boast beautiful beaches, many historical sites, and there are numerous walks. Ranging from simple strolls to more adventurous rambles and hill climbs.

The accommodation is on two levels. The lower level has the master bedroom with a luxurious super-king size bed to give you a perfect nights sleep. The spacious, en-suite, bathroom has a water fall power shower with jets, a spa bath, TV and blue tooth speakers. Just the thing for relaxing after a day exploring the islands, fishing or walking in the hills.

There is comfortable seating in the lounge area which has a large bay window and French doors to access a patio area with picnic table. There is also an outbuilding, which houses the laundry facilities and has room for storing bikes or drying wet suits.

There are two twin bedrooms up the stairs and these have en-suite shower rooms. However, we only let out one of these per booking. Both rooms can be booked at an extra cost by prior arrangement only (if available).

An Acail is a warm cozy house with oil central heating which can be fully controlled by you. We provide all bed linen and towels and a small welcome pack to help you settle in on your first night.

This is a well appointed cottage in a quiet location on the outskirts of Stornoway. Modern, clean and very spacious. Great Jacuzzi bath to relax after exploring the Island. There is plenty of off road parking. The welcome package was a nice touch. The owners Iain and Jeanne were there to meet us on arrival and were very helpful. The cottage is only a five minute drive from supermarkets , local shops and ferry terminal. Lews Castle grounds are beautiful with its network of paths. Would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to visit Lewis
