About this house rental

Unique beach retreat located in the quiet, desirable, and sophisticated residential oceanside neighborhood of Rehoboth-by-the-Sea. The beach is an easy stroll and less than two blocks down the street. Lake Comegys is across the street.

Walk to, or hop the trolley to Rehoboth’s dining, shopping and entertainment, or walk to a classic beach bar in Dewey, everything is within easy reach. Maybe, once you arrive, simply decide to relax and enjoy this wonderfully restful and private beach home.
The house is comfortably furnished, shaded by mature trees and surrounded by wooden walkways and naturalistic gardens. Ample outdoor and indoor living spaces! The home is calming and respectful of its location – think Northern California spa-like. We have tried to create a restful retreat from daily life. The simplicity of the design, the flow of the floor plan and decor of the home is Zen-like. Lots of visual straight lines throughout with soft natural lighting. Breath, take-in the scent of pine and ocean.
The home has been rented on a limited basis. And, we have been committed to keeping its unique and original architectural design intact while being sensitive in up-grading our home for modern day life. The home’s simplicity was designed to maximize a proximity with nature. There is a perfect symmetry in the layout, with an exceptional amount of cool and screened-in living space. It is a single level home with beamed ceilings, original pine paneling and polished planked floors. All interior spaces are either screened or centrally air conditioned.
On the east side of the home, there is a wonderful large screened living room and dining area where you can enjoy the fresh air and listen to the breeze through the trees above. Doors open into the west side of the house where you will find a second living room, dining area and kitchen, all centrally air conditioned. The home is decorated with a collection of tasteful artwork, simple and natural furnishings collected from our world travels over the years, but in the end, uncluttered.
There are three bedrooms and two full baths, all air conditioned. The bedrooms open onto interior hallways or living areas and one bedroom is a master suite with full bath.
Bedroom Configuration:
Bedroom #1: Master bedroom with en suite full bath, one queen bed.
Bedroom #2: Two twin beds.
Bedroom #3: One queen bed.
Surrounding the house is a series of wooden walkways through the gardens. Plus there is a screened back porch with a quiet workspace overlooking private and fenced rear garden. Perfect for reading, a friendly card game, checking-up on emails, or reading a good book while watching-over others outside.
The kitchen is ample and updated and fully equipped. The bathrooms have also been updated in soothing natural colored tile with skylights.
There are also two separate outdoor lounging areas, one off the master suite, an outdoor shower, grill and ample storage space for your bikes and beach chairs. The property is completely fenced and safe and secure in a family-friendly neighborhood.
There is off-street parking for two cars plus one additional parking permit. Washer/dryer, wifi, and cable are provided.
House lilmited to six people.
The house rents by the week Friday-to-Friday from July 2 through August 13. Otherwise, 4-night rentals are available.
We think you will find our home to be a relaxing and memorable vacation beach home.

Enjoyed our time. Everything was in walking distance and it was very quiet. Loved the landscaping as well.

Love this quiet family neighborhood Rehoboth by the Sea- short walk to the beach, Fifer’s for breakfast & Dewey for restaurants & entertainment. Bedrooms comfortable w/AC. Master bath was nicely updated- great water pressure! Living & kitchen area are too dark w/ dated furniture. Screened in porch was lovely but too hot to enjoy in the afternoon. Broken coffee carafe was immediately replaced- communication with rental manager easy & prompt. Quaint home with character!

Donald’s house is a tasteful secluded retreat for my family of four adults. The house offers a remarkable sensation of privacy despite being just a few minutes on foot from the beach and a couple minutes more from the action-packed center of Dewey. The house is simple but beautiful and completely functional, with everything necessary for a relaxing beach vacation. Communication with the kind property manager was very smooth during our stay. Two things to note are that guests are asked to provide their own sheets and towels and that the second bathroom is not air conditioned — less of a concern thanks to the delightful outdoor shower. We loved our time at this charming house and hope to return!

We’ve stayed in this Dewey neighborhood for a few years - we love the beach charm and the summer camp vibes of the houses in this neighborhood. Super close to the beach and very quiet at night. This house is set behind huge hedges and trees and the landscaping in the front and back is beautiful and serene. The screened in front porch is huge and offers many spots for reading, eating, and enjoying the beach at night. When I say this house is rustic, I mean it. There are all of the amenities one would expect in the kitchen but they’re quite outdated and none of the pots and pans have lids that we could find and the utensils are pretty sparse/outdated. We had a big dinner every night but it was brief because the chairs were hard to sit in and the table is cracked. The bathrooms are clean and bright and modern with good water pressure. The manager responded quickly to a message about a broken toilet seat but it wasn’t replaced during our stay, despite his telling me it would be. All of these are minor details, because, and I cannot stress this enough, this house is DARK. There is no overhead lighting and each room includes a collection of old lamps with very low wattage lightbulbs. It was not possible to read a book after the sun went down. I walked right into a couch and broke my toe on the first night of my vacation because I could not navigate the room in the dim lighting. Please install lights for your guests!!!
