About this house rental

Located in the lower level of our home, the contemporary flat has an open concept design--2 bedrooms and one bath. There are hardwood floors and granite counter tops. The two bedrooms, each have a queen bed. Our couch in the main room pulls out into a queen bed. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower.
As we are located on a Christmas tree farm, it is quiet with no near by traffic.
My studio and display room are located on our Christmas tree farm--the display room is open 24/7!

There is something so special and calming about being at the Christmas Tree Farm. We just spend 6 nights on the property in the lower flat, so we truly got a feel for the place. Part of it is that you feel secluded in this tucked away property just minutes from the OSU Campus. But you aren't secluded. As we wandered amongst the trees throughout the property, we saw neighbors walking their dogs and joggers following the paths. It is truly a treasured property by everyone in the area.Dale and Peggy also make you feel very welcome. They tool about tending to things, but leave you to enjoy the surroundings. And there is so much to enjoy. You feel immersed in the garden, especially in the dining room that has you eye level with the bullfrogs in the pond. We also took full advantage of having the covered patio made from Dale's impressive pottery, having a glass of wine to soak in the view and dinner several times. This became our home base for the week, and we couldn't have made a better choice.

It was a lovely property. Well maintained and the flat was very comfortable and cozy. Everything worked, the beds were comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Everything inside was clean, bed was comfortable. My mother has difficulty getting around and both beds were quite high, so we were happy to find a pull out sleeper in the couch for her. The rooms were pretty dim, even when all the lights were turned on. But this is still such a small thing and did not take away from our time. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay here visiting our daughter at OSU. Just far enough away from town to feel like you are "away from it all" but also super close for going in there for dinner etc. Beautful light dining area where we had a lovely Mother's Day brunch. All in all just fabulous, we were sad not to meet our hosts -- but we will return.

We give this home and our hosts our highest rating and recommendation. The home is very warm and inviting as well as comfortable. The bed is comfy, and the shower is amazing. We especially appreciate all of the artwork throughout the house. The views from both inside and outside the house are beautiful. We enjoyed the bird songs and birdwatching both from inside the house and the patio. last but not leadt our hosts Dale and Peggy were most gracious and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and won't hesitate to stay again should the occasion arise.

Dale was a wonderful host and was great to talk to. The property was excellent with a lot of wonderful charm. The electric vehicle charger work great on my Rivian. It was super close to campus and made it easy dropping off my child to Oregon State.

We had a wonderful week on The Christmas Tree Farm. It is quiet and relaxing. The host is warm and welcoming. We explored during the week and went to the OR/ Or State football game on Saturday. We are a house divided so lots of rivalry.

The Donovan Tree Farm was a delightful place to stay. We appreciated the creative landscaping and the friendliness of the owner was unmatched. Beautiful location, is comfortable, and met our needs completely! The ease of check-in and check-out was unbeatable. And a big bonus for us was that it was dog-friendly, but you'd never know it by its immaculate upkeep. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We totally enjoyed our stay. The apartment was roomy, bright and clean. We enjoyed the garden views from the living room and dining room! We loved sitting on the patio and taking in the view of the Christmas trees as well as the hills in the distance. We walked the tractor paths through the farm. As a bonus we got to tour Dale’s pottery studio!

The view of the garden from the flat is gorgeous! We had everything we needed and felt very comfortable in this space. It was not an issue for us, but we did notice that there was no oven in the kitchen. We plan to be back!

The property was well appointed for guests with everything we needed. 2 suggestions: a phone number for the host should be readily available in the guest book. We wanted to call him to say we were leaving early on account of one of us having Covid. We didn't want to knock on his door upstairs because we wanted to not expose him, but we couldn't find a phone number in any of the paperwork online or in the house. Secondly, for those of us sensitive to strong scents, I would suggest using a non fragrance laundry detergent and NO dryer sheets. The smell of the bedding was overpowering. Also it would be good to sweep out the steps leading to the second bedroom which has no windows so that the glass door is the only source of daylight. The steps are the only place on the property that doesn't look inviting. Otherwise it was really fun to explore all the unique ceramics and decorative art inside and out. Thanks so much!
