About this house rental
This is a spacious, 2200 sq ft, classic PRAIRIE STYLE home just west of the Benson Neighborhood. This turn-of-the-century home offers five bedrooms and two full baths, a fully furnished kitchen, separate dining room, and large living room. There are four good-size bedrooms upstairs, and one large bedroom on the main floor with private entrance. There is also a full bathroom on each floor. This home comfortably accommodates 8 to 10 guests.
Our home is 5 miles from downtown Omaha, the Century Link Center and Ameritrade Park – or about 10-15 minutes drive time, and only a 5 minute drive from the Westroads (CWS shuttle), and Borsheims at the Regency Shopping Center. We are centrally located, less than 5 minutes to 72nd and Dodge Street, and the Nebraska Furniture Mart with easy access to shopping and great restaurants.
The back yard is over ½ acre with a 600 sq ft deck and grill, and lots of room to relax under our Ginormous 100 year old Catalpa Tree! Summers are great here!
This 100+ year old home is remarkably well-preserved with lots of its original character and beauty, but also has all modern conveniences. Original Oak and Tigers Eye Maple wood floors, 9 ft ceilings with original plaster cove, and numerous antique pieces are only part of the charm. We love our well-cared for home and know that you will too.

Beautiful older home with a great back porch deck for sitting around one of the biggest Northern Catalpa trees in Nebraska. Would definitely stay again. The host was great to work with.

It was close enough to enjoy the experience and far enough away to have privacy and enjoy sleep and meals. Host were extremely kind and provided information and feedback immediately. We definitely would stay with them again!

We rented this house for a long weekend for a family reunion. Ten of the 15 attendants, including 5 children, stayed here, the rest stayed in a hotel but came here to hang out. It worked well- there was plenty of space for our large group to gather on the deck and lawn, around the dining room table, or in the living room. The house was very clean and well-maintained and the owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. We loved the huge old tree in the backyard and all the bird feeders.
The only problem I found with this property - and this would be expected in a house of this age- was that each room is quite small- containing one twin, two twins, or a full-size bed. This would be fine for people traveling without kids but it was a little complicated for families with young children. We ended up packing several people in a few rooms, with some sleeping in air mattresses on the floor and at least one room ended up empty. This arrangement worked out fine for us but perhaps wouldn't be for everyone. Also, the layout, bed sizes, etc.. of the rooms was a little difficult to figure out from the listing.
The room layouts and the abundance of nice decorations and beautiful woodwork made it perhaps less than ideal for small children. However, in other ways it was great for the kids- there was a big yard, a basketball hoop, lots of birds for our young birder, lots of videos in the living room and master bedroom, and enough space on the living room floor for cousins to camp out together.
We had a wonderful stay here- it's really a special house and property. We would definitely recommend it to others!
