Lovely Lodge for a Family Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at Michael’s lodge and enjoyed every moment of it. Michael welcomed us upon arrival and shared lots of helpful information about the lodge, the park, and nearby attractions. The lodge was spotless, much more spacious than we expected, and perfectly suited for a family getaway. The holiday park itself has a lovely playground that our kids absolutely loved. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Marvellous. Highly recommended. Spacious, homely and clean.

The property was clean and spacious. The double room had a nice size bed, ample storage space and a perfectly situated toilet and superb shower, plus there was a second bathroom with toilet and bath. The twin bedroom was quite a surprise as that was also spacious with good storage and the best thing was the beds were comfortable in it, they were sturdy and well built and they had a decent mattress unlike so many other places we have stayed in. There was a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, fridge/freezer everything one could wish for should they need it. The two sofa’s were nice and comfortable and the air conditioning was marvellous on a really hot day. There was a lovely Veranda where one could sit and watch the world go by. The whole property was nice and clean, there was parking right outside and extra parking just over the road should one need it. The owner Michael was very polite and helpful and we would certainly stay there again.

I can honestly say there was nothing about the property that we didn’t like.

Luxury dog friendly lodge homely

Very homely comfortable nice location on the park.bedding and towels very clean too .air con was a bonus on the hottest day of the year too.small dog friendly too which is excellent trying to find a luxury lodge in that area too

Lovely and would visit again

clean comfortable and spacious, had everything you could need. Good clear instructions from owner re check in, using heating etc and were offered an earlier check in than the 3pm without us needing to ask . Close to amenities, club house etc, and also supermarket and eating places. They were only a couple of minutes walk as was a lovely little country park, literally just across the road. Few minutes into Clacton itself b8car, and bus stops directly outside entrance to site.

only negative was position on the site. we had a very warm week and used the verandah a lot. All traffic goes past, very close to the verandah. Didn't bother us when inside, and wouldn't stop us booking again as every thing else was so nice

Great location.

We have stayed here a good few times. On this occasion, when we arrived, we noticed a bad smell throughout the lodge. It smelt like dirty cooked meat. If that makes sense. I never had any issues previously regarding the cleaning, but noticed a lot was missed before we arrived. bottles left in rooms hair on the bedding. one of the sofas are broken so when your sitting down your consistently sliding forward. Other than that, it’s perfect.

Lovely place couple of things that let it down due to the cleaner with dishwasher tablets and old sheets left in the cupboard so called back Also new towels left in cupboard and not put out no new batteries in any remote but these are small things

Clean and pristine Lodge

Lovely and clean throughout, with a very well equipped kitchen and extremely spacious.

The only complaint I could make which is only my personal preference... the bedding was overly purfumed by washing detergent/softener, so not great for my allergies, ended up covered in a rash/itching every night :( Would take my own bedding for next time but absolutely wouldn't put me off booking again.

Perfect stay at this beautiful lodge

Nothing. We loved everything about the lodge.

Everything! The lodge was beautiful, very clean, spacious and it had everything we needed. If you need to do some grocery, tesco is only 6 mins-8 mins walk (depends how fast you walk) from the lodge. We loved the walk in wardrobes in each of the bedrooms. My kids were just chilling/playing in there & watching movies etc as it's very cosy. Amanda and Michael were very helpful and great at communicating. I will definitely be recommending them to my friends and family. Note: This is regarding the park it self not the lodge...Before you get entertainment pass from reception through highfield grange holiday park, ask what it actually covers as I paid £89 for 3 nights pass ( family of four. 2 adults and 2 kids) which covers swimming, sports facilties and shows. Have a think if it's worth it because I personally thought it was over priced for what you get and I wish I went and asked exactly what it actually covers before paying. They charged the same amount as if you are staying for a week! even though we were only there for 3 nights. All the other activities like pottery painting, pedal go karts etc you have to pay for them extra and I thought the pass covered everything. The whole time we used it for swimming and shows, we weren't even asked if we have a pass at the door. People were just going in and out. The park is close to the town center as well and in less than 10 mins drive, you are at Clacton Pier. Thank you Amanda and Michael! We had a lovely stay at your beautiful lodge. We will surely be back one day.

Loved the fact that there were all of the utilities we needed and the air con was a nice bonus, really spacious and comfortable, the weather was really good so we had breakfast on the veranda, nice big TV too, we'll definitely be returning 5 stars Thank you Michael & Amanda x

Very pleased with the site & lodge, bar & food was very good.

Nothing about the lodge. Only that the evening entertainment was not cheap & far too expensive & unable to get anywhere to stand or sit. Therefore we paid for nothing. Still waiting to hear about a refund of something.
