Wonderful quirky, cosy, peaceful place to stay.

The Iron Chapel was a lovely place to stay. We were a little worried that it would be cold but it was incredibly well insulated and toasty warm. The owners have brought the chapel back to life with lots of love and have thought about every aspect of the design. It really felt like a home from home, except even better than our actual home.

We loved our whimsical stay in the exquisite Iron Chapel.

Absolutely lovely. The decor was whimsical and original. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Everything was done to a very high standard. We loved this place and it was one of our favorite holiday let’s ever. It’s one of the few places where we say “we would love to come back again“and really mean it. They were also very accommodating to allow us to bring our dog with us.

Nothing. As noted by others, a dishwasher instead of a washing machine would’ve been nice. The hosts told us that they would be following this advice and switching the washing machine out for a dishwasher.

Exceptional

Perfect location for our Nortumbria wedding. The Iron Chapel was very unique. Bit of a tight squeeze for 6 adults, but sensitively renovated and Lisa could not have been more helpful. Only 25 minutes walk to the pub.

The third bedroom was very small, storage space limited for 6 adults. A dishwasher for 6 adults would have been more helpful than a washing machine.

Excellent accommodation for both Hadrian's Wall and Newcastle

The owners have done a nice job transforming this property, making some big changes but retaining some original features, and there are some records of that transformation that are interesting to look at. It's not a huge property, but the intelligence with which it has been designed meant that it didn't fit cramped even with 2 adults and 4 children. Parking is great and the owners very friendly and helpful.

Quirky yet cosy.

Liked the quirky decor and the Christmas lights. The Chapel is comfortable and spotlessly clean. There are lots of nice walks close to the property. The hosts were great, and thanks for the mulled wine.

If I had to be picky, the shower could do with being more powerful. But that's a minor point and we'd love to go back when the weather's better.

Good holiday home, we visited in October and were pleased to find it had central heating and was pleasant temperature on arrival. Clean and in a quiet location.

A beautifully, unusual home with wonderful hosts.

The hosts welcomed us as we arrived and told us everything we needed to know. The welcome was just perfect. They lived just next door if there were any problems (which there weren't) It was comforting to know they were so close but we didn't see them so were able to just get on with our holiday. The Chapel is simply incredible - it's been so cleverly restored and furnished - every time we looked we saw something different. It was cosy yet felt spacious. We cooked a meal every night and had everything we needed close to hand. The beds were lush. In summary a perfect place for exploring. Thank you so much.

THERE WAS NOTHING WE DIDN'T LIKE. We came with dogs so always a little anxious about the location but the chapel was on a lane that lead to open fields, a recreation field and a nature reserve - we were completely spoilt for choice for an evening stroll with the dogs.

Perfect location for exploring Hadrians wall country. The property has everything you need. The photos don't really do it justice you open the door and 'wow. Don't hesitate just book it you won't be disappointed

A wonderful place to stay in a beautiful part of the country.

This was probably the nicest holiday home I've ever stayed in - so quirky and original yet incredibly comfortable. It's even better than the pictures! It's in a really quiet location, but easy to get into Newcastle, the coast, the wall - wherever you want to go in this beautiful part of the world. Lisa (the owner) is delightful and we had an absolutely fantastic stay. I cannot recommend strongly enough!

Superb

The whole place was very clean which was nice. The sheets were white and the beds quite comfy. The location is very pretty, good views over the hills and if you go out of the chapel, down the road and turn left, you come to the Clara Vale nature reserve which you can walk around with a dog if it's on a lead. There are ponds, wild flowers etc. There are lots of good walks in the area.

If I had to find something to suggest as an improvement, perhaps it would have been nicer to have a dishwasher than a washing machine (I don't do washing on holiday but perhaps some people do). I would also have preferred white towels to brown, but we were very happy with the accommodation.

A little Gem!

This is a stunning property, that has been restored, with the upmost care. The attention to detail, to give this "iron chapel" a new lease of life, is exceptional. This unique property is well worth a visit. The owners next door were superb, and couldnt do enough to help us or reccomend places. 10 out of 10. We will be going back. (We didnt actually want to leave!)
