About this house rental
This beach house is located just 2 blocks from the beach and Rehoboth bay making it easy to enjoy a day soaking up the sun and playing in the waves, or paddle boarding, kayaking or boating. It features a large open plan kitchen, family room, and dining area. Two full size couches and loveseat are perfect for family movie night after an evening at the boardwalk. The outdoor living space is the gem of this house - it features a large screened in porch facing the sunset, and a huge 1,200 sq. ft. deck with hot tub, picnic table and charcoal grill! Enjoy burgers and hot dogs on the deck, happy hour on the screened in front porch or a late afternoon dip in the hot tub.

Three generations under one roof for an off-season beach get-a-way. The location is great. Leave the car in the driveway and walk everywhere in Dewey. The house has space to spare for our group - 4 adults and 2 tweens. 2nd bathroom is a bit small - but manageable. Enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. There's an outdoor shower that would be useful in the summer. Communication with the owner was polite, professional and timely. Check in and out were seamless.

Family of 8 enjoyed our time at Bill’s place! Bill was easy to contact, friendly and helpful. The house was clean and convenient to Dewey and Rehoboth beaches. My only suggestion (not a complaint) is to be prepared for the full size bed in its own room to be a little small for a couple to share, but it is doable.
Loved the large hot tub and roomy screened in porch. Would definitely stay here again!

We were excited to find an affordable house close to the beach for our large family. Upon arrival we were disappointed that the house was not in the condition we would expect for a VRBO rental. As a family rule, we do not wear shoes inside of houses and our feet quickly turned black on the bottom from unloading and exploring the house. Food crumbs and stains on counters, the table, and in the refrigerator needed to be cleaned before we could unpack. The blinds in the bedrooms were visibly stained and dirty, as were several doorways, and the top cover blankets provided are worn to the point of being unattractive. The screen porch required cleaning before it could be usable at all. We understand weather contributes to this, but the level of cleaning required indicated it had not been cared for in some time. Cleaning supplies were left in a closet with a note to "Please help Yourself," but it wasn't the type of thing we expected to do as soon as we arrived.
We were aware from the pictures that the interior of this house is dated (for example, older TV's, kitchen, furniture). But being dated is not the same as being neglected. There is a charm to staying in a place with old stuff. But that charm is negated when the house and the items in the house are not well cared for. A little maintenance and care could add a lot of charm to this house. The deck has significant mold on it, making it dangerously slick when wet. Not exactly safe for a family with several young kids or grandparents. We were warned that the deck gets slippery when wet, but an occasionally bit of pressure washing/chemical treatment would help with this issue.
Although the property is close to the beach you must cross a busy highway to gain access. It is a quick drive to several other area attractions, something that was very appealing for our large family.
The best part of the house was the hot tub. Large and clean, it was the highlight of the visit whenever we were at the house.
Overall, we understand that you get what you pay for and this house was very affordable for our October beach stay.
