Our guests consistently talk about how the Beach Lady feels comfortable and homey. She is decorated throughout with pictures and knick-knacks that create the flavor of living at the beach. We also provide books that include fiction and non-fiction, with several titles selected to help you discover the cultural and natural history of Kure Beach and the North Carolina coast.
The area surrounding the Beach Lady is a truly wonderful oceanfront community. Kure Beach is a former fishing village that lies between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean. Just to the south of Kure Beach are historic Fort Fisher, the NC Aquarium, and a ferry that connects you to Southport, a quaint village with antique shops and nice restaurants. Just past the ferry station is the mouth of the Cape Fear river, where you can view Bald Head Island and gorgeous sunsets. To the north of Kure Beach is Carolina Beach, with lots of shopping, restaurants, and a small amusement park. Further north is Wilmington, which has first-class shopping, museums, art galleries, restaurants, water parks, golf courses, and the USS North Carolina Battleship.
