About this apartment rental

This is my second home, so it’s more a home than a rental. I take great pride in decorating it with warmth and luxury for guests and my family. So you will sleep on luxury hotel pillows and a mattress pillow, lounge in bathrobes from Bloomingdale’s, experience a Dyson hair dryer, enjoy a Japanese toilet, frost-free refrigerator, top-of-the-line clothes washer/dryer, and lounge in Roche Bobois armchairs. You I want you to be happy and return!

Weekly professional cleaning service is included.

Aside from just strolling around and enjoying the neighborhood where “Midnight in Paris” was shot, take in a concert at the nearby church, catch the art exhibit at Musée Luxembourg, or enjoy a coffee at the 100 year-old “La Coupole” brasserie.

On October 16, 2018 the French government enacted the Elan law or mobility lease, which allows people of professional mobility to lease this apartment for one to ten months. There is no administrative declaration needed, nor is there a security deposit. And you pay no tourist tax. These are the leases I offer.

As you look for an apartment rental, consider the size. 1152 sq. ft. is large. Which floor is the apartment on? The higher the better for security and street noise. We are on a the fifth floor (US). Is the apartment secure? We have two coded secure doors and a full time concierge. And you want to have an elevator. We have one.

I chose this apartment for its location. It is only steps to the Luxembourg Gardens entrance where there are pony rides, a super children's playground, a world famous puppet theater, tennis and basketball courts, a jogging track, petanque players, chess matches , a huge fountain and a carousel. It feels like home, not a rental, because it is my home four times a year when I'm in Paris.

If you have young kids this location next to the Luxembourg Gardens is a must. They will discover the Gardens just as my kids did -- feeding the ducks and fish in the fountain with a fresh 'baguette', sailing a boat, riding the carousel , swinging in the playground, watching a world-renown puppet show and riding the ponies.

We are close to Gertrude Stein's former apartment , where many artists of the "Lost Generation" gathered. Picture Picasso, Matisse, Dali, Fitzgerald and Hemingway having an aperitif at Gertrude Stein’s nearby apartment before they stroll to the nearby Montparnasse brasseries to see Josephine Baker. You can't beat the location.

This two bedroom, two bath, two balcony, spacious luxury apartment is in Paris' most desirable quarter known for its peaceful central location. You will enjoy quiet night's sleep in the cozy rear of the building. There is no noise coming from our narrow street. Two coded security doors to the apartment and a live-in concierge insure safety. A brief walk takes you to the Luxembourg Gardens entrance, world-reknown gourmet restaurants (Coupole, Dome, Closerie de Lilas), and then many lesser-known dining jewels, the Luxembourg Museum, Latin Quarter cafés, Montparnasse, St. Sulpice Church, the Odeon theater, the Raspail open air market, gourmet food and high fashion shopping at Bon Marche, the Alliance Francaise, Poilaine (best bakery in Paris), theaters, the Musee D'Orsay, Eiffel Tower, Boulevard St. Germain, movies and other monuments. Our scenic street set the stage for a recent French 1920's period movie titled 'Les Faux Monnayeurs'.

Joe, our professional English speaking manager, meets and greets visitors with a smile, helps orient you and can coordinate various services including baby sitting, cleaning and food delivery.

The neighborhood is extremely safe because we are near the French Senate where security is ever present.

Everything you need from green grocers, pharmacies, bakeries, chocolate, gelato and pastry shops, cafes, tabacs, hairdressers, a late night grocery store, movies and theater are all within a few minutes walk.

Three metro stops, five bus lines and a taxi station are close to the apartment. The location affords easy access to the entire city and its monuments.

The 'beaux-arts' building was built in 1900 with high ceilings and elaborate wall/ceiling moldings. The high floor apartment with an elevator is a spacious 1,150 square feet and has two balconies.

Why do I say 'luxury'? The decorator designed apartment is furnished with expensive antique furniture, oriental carpets, fine bone China, original oil paintings and Japanese woodblock prints. I completely remodeled three bathrooms, the kitchen and installed a Japanese washing toilet. The drapes are custom-made heavy velvet. In the European tradition, one bedroom's walls are covered with blue velvet, ensuring a peaceful sleep.

The apartment is well-appointed with all modern conveniences. The kitchen is new and features the highest quality built-in appliances and a Nespresso coffee machine. We have top-of-the-line cooking utensils, pots, pans, high thread count and Frette sheets, bath sheets, luxurious bathrobes, silver candlesticks, 19th century gilded mirrors, an antique mantle clock, board games and lots of reading material for rainy days. Everything is new except the antique furniture. The apartment is wired with WiFi and a new Mac connected to a printer, two large flat panel screens, a Bose sound system, free worldwide telephone service (except Africa and South America), and Bluetooth to connect to the music system. There are also two standing air conditioning units.

So you do not need to bring guidebooks, hairdryers, adapters, computers, an iron, IPhone/Pad chargers, soap, shampoo, conditioner or umbrellas. We have all for your use.
You will enjoy your stay. We want you to return.

Every thing about the apartment is top of the line. Comfortable beds and living area, well-appointed kitchen and excellent location are but a few of the advantages offered. A quiet, residential neighborhood but within easy walking distance of many shops and restaurants and the Luxembourg Gardens, #8 rue Huysmans is an excellent choice for a stay in Paris.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending a month in Paris and having this wonderful apartment as our base. It was beautifully furnished and comfortable on a quiet street in a nice building with all the touches that make a place feel like home. We enjoyed the well-supplied kitchen and the lovely linens the owner provided. Joe, the apartment manager, did everything to help our stay be perfect. He met us when we arrived and came to see us off. We walked to the Luxembourg Gardens and dined at the nearby local restaurants. Great location for seeing and knowing Paris. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning to visit Paris.

My retirement dream was to return to favorite places and immerse myself in day to day life, in this case as a Parisian. We stayed here for the month of October 2024. This property afforded my friends and I the chance to have that “authentic” experience. The apartment was spacious and beautifully furnished. It has a fully stocked modern kitchen including dishwasher and washer and dryer ( separate units that were easy to use), microwave and coffee maker. The kitchen was stocked with spices and coffee as well as laundry detergent, trash bags and every necessity one typically has to purchase upon arrival to a rental unit. The beds were extremely comfortable and bathrooms clean and modern, plenty of hot water and great water pressure. It also included an Italian bidet and Dyson hairdryer. The location is exceptional- 2 metro lines within a 5 minute walk, the amazing Raspail market on Tues, Fri and Sunday was down the street; a small grocery store, pharmacy and outstanding bakery on the same block and Luxembourg Garden gates just about a 7 minute walk. The host was the best. He sent copious notes sharing favorites restaurants, patisseries, museums, etc as well as where go if we had a medical or dental issue . He checked in with us several times to ensure we had everything we needed. We also took advantage of the free nights at the owners Chateau in Normandy and stayed 4 nights - what an exceptional bonus! Highly recommend this property!

This apartment is the perfect place to stay and experience Paris like a Parisian. The neighborhood is safe with plenty of great restaurants and shops, convenient to bus and metro, grocery stores and the stunning Luxembourg Gardens. The apartment itself is spotless, beautifully decorated and well-stocked with everything you need. It (and the neighborhood itself) was a peaceful haven after sightseeing all day, and there are very few tourists in this part of the city. The owner goes out of his way to prepare you for your week, and we enjoyed great meals at several of his recommendations. The city of Paris itself is incredible and the people were wonderful (forget the old stereotype of them being unfriendly to tourists - it's just not true). We can't wait to go back, and this is where we would stay every time.
