Quaint and welcoming, supported the couple of small asks we had in preparation for our wedding in a timely manner. Only thing we had an incorrect assumption of was the proximity of the property to other houses, and the pool being right off the back deck of another house. This may have just been a misunderstanding on our part in regards to the privacy of the unit, and otherwise the experience was great!

We stayed two nights. Very nice place. We cooked ALOT and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need. Lovely quiet place to stay. Definitely would stay there again!!!

Overall, it was a good stay. Cabin had ample room and amenities. It was well stocked with kitchen and bathroom materials. Our only criticism was there were no test strips for the hot tub (we ave had several tubs and were very critical about testing the chemicals before we got in…but that’s just our own pet peave). All in all, it was a good stay.

Perfect get away for Valentines weekend. We enjoyed the hot tub, with beautiful mountain view, house was warm, and cozy. Very friendly owners and friendly fur baby Bailey. Overall a great get away weekend, thank you to the owners.

We had a great time celebrating my brother in law’s 50th birthday in your cabin! Loved the fireplace! And plenty of room for surprise guests that came to celebrate. Thanks

The property was close to everything we wanted to do in Asheville, was clean and had everything we needed. Good space for our dogs and the owners were responsive to our questions and needs.

Overall a good stay, cabin was spacious and well equipped, Christmas decorations were nice and the open fire set up was welcoming. Bathrooms bit dated and tub faucet leaked. Noise from something that sounded like a pump or motor all night every few minutes

Our family enjoyed spending Christmas 2024 here. The place was toasty warm with a roaring fire in the fireplace. The cabin was super clean and all glammed up for Christmas! With the owners living close by to our every need was met. We would go back!

My husband was in NC doing disaster relief work. I took a trip with our kids to go see him. We stayed and this cabin was perfect! There was everything we needed and then some. We even had the owners over for some Louisiana gumbo. If we ever go back we will definitely stay here again. I honestly can’t rave on them enough.

Booked this cabin for family to stay while visiting our daughter's family in Asheville. Location was great. Near to grocery and highways to get around. Quiet and quaint. Lots of room for everyone. Did our Thanksgiving cooking here. Well equipped kitchen. Had questions before our trip and hosts responded quickly. Definitely recommend!

Reminded me of the home we loved to rent in the Florida Keys for years.

The cabin is great in that it is in a relatively secluded area with a great view of the mountains, while not being too far away from downtown Asheville. Another plus is that Ubers do pick up from the property. The amenities at the cabin are great with being well stocked with everything you need. If you need anything Carolyn and David are more than willing to assist you.

David and Carolyn’s place was even better than expected. Great cabin (and hot tub!), beautiful property, and the hosts couldn’t have been nicer. Will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view of the forest, mountains, bears and cubs, and a refreshing pool with more views to top it off! House was lovely with spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, great linens, and friendly hosts. We stayed three nights and had restful sleep and a cozy living room to wait out the thunderstorms. Do note- there is now a bonus Ingles card if you need some coupons at the local grocery store (it’s just like a Kroger Card). It’s in an absolutely stunning neighborhood and impeccably convenient to downtown (Ubers work well, just be mindful that it might take them 15 minutes to get to you). Also note that there aren’t soap or shampoos in the showers- so bring your own or pick some up at ingles.

This was a quick stay for us but it was perfect! Pool, yard and space can’t be beat.

This is a great mountain cabin with fantastic views. The hosts were extremely helpful, and we really appreciated that they live in the adjacent property so we could meet them and chat with them whenever needed. The pool was great for our family, and the cabin had everything we needed for a family of four. We were in Asheville for a baseball tournament, and this cabin was just a short drive from the fields (and we didn't have to battle any Asheville traffic to get back and forth).

Spent a relaxing week at this cozy cabin. Everyone had room to stretch out and relax. We played cards at the dining table, grilled and ate out on the wrap around deck, watched movies in the living room, used the swimming pool, and swung on the porch swing listening to the whippoorwills sing at dusk.
It really was 20 minutes from everything - downtown,Biltmore, River Arts district, and the Blue Ridge parkway. We took advantage and made many day and evening trips too. We saw Dave multiple times during our stay and he and their dog Bailey were both very friendly. We personally liked having the owners so close by, because we knew we were covered if we needed any help. Highly recommend!

This log cabin in the woods was our home base for touring Asheville and visiting a dear friend. Midweek our kids and grandkids joined us for a few days. The location was perfect: a pool for the grandkids, quiet and restfulness for us, wonderful dogs (especially Bailey!), and an easy drive to dining, playground, zoo, hiking and fabulous scenery. Carolyn was out of town, but David was the perfect host, thoughtful, generous and helpful. We had a great time at the log cabin!

The Deer Haven Cabin in Candler, NC, was the perfect gateway to Asheville. Located in Pisgah National Forest about 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, you have the best of a natural area and urban life within minutes of e/o. The cabin was immaculate, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Host Dave met us upon arrival and told us about the momma bear and cub who had been seen at the cabin earlier in the week. (We didn't see them, but did see Dave's rendition.) Although we didn't ultimately use the hot tub or the pool, both were inviting. We highly recommend Deer Haven Cabin.

Log Cabin was great for six baseball players older than 65. Hosts Gary and Carolyn were fantastic. Very welcoming, told us about the area, gave us supplies we needed right away, had low tire pressure in front tire and Gary gave us a tire pressure tank to fill up tire, etc. Very large property with huge decks with gorgeous views.
Hosts let us have a barbecue on the property where about 18-20 people showed up. Jacuzzi was large and used frequently. They added water to the pool and the pool was used once.
Hope to stay here again next year as we all loved the place, area and hosts.

We loved our stay at the log cabin. The hot tub was great to sit in in the morning and the back porch looking out into the woods was very relaxing. We had a fire in the fireplace one night and between the games in the books had a great stay.

We (group of 6) thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin did not disappoint. Just big enough for our group and very cozy and inviting! We all agree that if we ever come back to Asheville area, we would be more inclined to rent this cabin again!!

The place was perfect for what we were looking for and a great value.
It was clean, well stocked and decorated, overall cozy and it perfectly encapsulated the cabin experience. We loved the fire pit and remote feel without being too far from town. It was still too cold for the pool and we sadly didn't use the hot tub but appreciate them both being there.
The instructions were clear and the host was very nice and hospitable.
I would highly recommend this and would surely stay there again.
Thanks!

Close to downtown Asheville, plenty of amenities, friendly host. Would definitely stay again! Getting there can be a little confusing once at the end of the street, but simple enough to figure out and host was helpful.

We decided to spend the weekend celebrating my best friends 50th birthday. There were three couples. We like the coziness of the cabin and its proximity to area restaurants in Asheville. Very hard to get to late at night when it’s raining because it’s hard to see. But a beautiful piece of property.

There were 6 of us that stayed for the NYE weekend and there was plenty of room for all of us. It was a cute, quiet cabin and we enjoyed the hot tub and the recliner couches. This cabin is close to Asheville but you still get the secluded feel which was what we were looking for. I would like to stay here again when we come back to Asheville!

A great property with friendly and communicative owners! The cabin in on the same property as other houses but it feels very private. Easy access to Asheville. We had a wonderful stay to enjoy Christmas! The hot tub was a great way to end the day! Comfortable bed and a fire was built for us when we arrived! Highly recommend, next time we’re in Asheville we will definitely be back!!!
