Welcome to "A Pearl in the Oyster"... an absolutely charming, updated, and modern beach cottage that is only 100 feet from the beach! We are nestled in a quaint south Nags Head neighborhood, on a private drive with no roads to cross to get your toes into the Atlantic Ocean.
This semi-oceanfront home has everything your family dreams about for a beach house vacation in the Outer Banks. Our ocean-facing window wall has amazing views of the ocean from an open floor-plan living/dining area. The well-stocked kitchen has a full-size refrigerator with an ice maker, electric range and oven, microwave, dishwasher, and lots of small kitchen appliances/tools/gadgets. As our guest, you will enjoy wireless internet access, and HDTV viewing via Direct TV satellite. Our entertainment system includes a Blu-ray/DVD player and Bluetooth-compatible AV theatre receiver. If you travel with your gaming system or streaming device, you can use the HDMI cable to connect to our entertainment system. In the evening, the window wall becomes your own home theater as you lower the projection screen (which doubles as a privacy shade). Watch TV, and movies (from our DVD library), or redirect your gaming console to the 12-foot wide projection screen! Other amenities of this home include central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans in most rooms, Direct TV in each of the 4 bedrooms all w/ HD TVs, 2 full baths (with tubs!), and a compact, high-efficiency washer/dryer. This home is kid-friendly!
Just steps from A Pearl in the Oyster and you are on the beach! A short walk along the beach (heading north) takes you to Jeannette's Pier, and a short walk in the other direction (heading south) takes you to The Outer Banks Pier. The outdoor space at A Pearl in the Oyster includes a hot tub on the ground level (in an area covered to use rain or shine) which is adjacent to the outdoor shower and a convenient half bath. The main floor leads out to a welcoming covered deck with ocean views, Adirondack chairs, and a perch on which to feed the neighborhood birds! It's the perfect place for drinking coffee in the morning and enjoying a glass of wine in the evening. Come and see why this home truly is A Pearl in the Oyster.

Everything about this house was perfect for our vacation. The location is amazing. It's one house from the beach and close to everything Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills has to offer. We ate every meal out and didn't get to try all of the amazing places to eat. The house has great upgrades and plenty of space. The decks are wonderful and the 12 foot projector screen was a hit every night. The kitchen is fully loaded- not that we needed it, but anything we needed was there. The hot tub was huge and we appreciated the outside shower and hoses to rinse off all of the sand. The house being pet friendly gave our family dog the best vacation too. We will most likely rent this house again. We didn't have one problem or issue with anything and the rental company and beach gear rental company were both so easy to work with. Thank you for giving us a wonderful vacation!

We had rented Pearl In The Oyster in the summer back in 2016 or 2017 and had a great time. Decided to return there this fall after going to different places along the Outer Banks in between. The house was exactly how we remembered as far as the fantastic location in the giant projection screen. The pet policy is very reasonable and our dog loved the experience :-) The neighbors there, the real Full-time residents of the Outer Banks, are very kind as well.
The only negative that I would have is that the carpets in the bedrooms are in need of replacement and the shower water pressure in both bathrooms leave something to be desired. Not sure if it's because of the handheld heads or the difficulty in getting water up that high.
Again, all in all a great experience and I'm sure we consider Pearl In The Oyster again next time we return to the Outer Banks.

This is our second stay at this home. We love the location. It's one back from the ocean but you can see the ocean. The dune is not high to get on and off the beach. It's on a quiet private road off the main road. It was clean. It's a little outdated but it has the older beach house vibe. Everything is there that you could need. We are a 60s couple so we only use the main bedroom and we don't cook on vacation. Still, the kitchen is well equipped and if you do cook, everything you need is there. There is a nice guest pantry cabinet that has salt/pepper and some other things, which is nice. The main bedroom bed is very comfortable. We haven't used the movie screen in the living room, but I could see where that would be nice for families. Decks are nice. Huge grill. Great private hot tub area under the house. Allows dogs, which was the primary reason we rented-we have a golden retriever. We will continue to rent this house. It's in a great location, everything on one floor, allows our dog, and easy access to the beach.

The house was cute. Nice little neighborhood and very short walk to the beach.
But the carpet in the rooms were stained and dirty. We checked in and had to call the manager they had to come back and clean out the fridge and sweep the floors. The couch was dirty and sticky. Then we move the couch back so we can watch the projector. And under the couch was a lot of sand broken glass food and some kind of vile. The sliding glass doors had fingerprints tongue marks and Lord knows what else was on there. The hot tub area had so many spider web that you were afraid to even walk in there. And we could not use the barbecue grill because the grass was growing so high that you don't know what was hiding in there and the grill looked very dirty and disgusting. I had family that came from out of state and met us there everybody was disappointed. I was embarrassed. This was the 1st and last time that I rent " The Pearl" September 13, 2020
