This property was way more of a gem than we expected. It was such a treat and we definitely plan on staying again. The house itself was beautifully layed out and clean and spacious. Sunroom/game room was nice extra space, bedrooms nice, bathroom great to have the 2 sinks and the shower was great! The banana bread left to us was such a sweet touch. But let me tell ya, the lake was wonderful, the patio and grass area was such a serene and peaceful space. My son fished and couple of kids jumped in. The dock was very nice.l and spacious. The biggest surprise was the membership access to the beach over at the bigger lake, who knew, we went one day for just a couple hours because it was so close. Had a blast, we will be back! Thank you for having us

Attention the detail was immaculate. They truly go above and beyond from fishing poles and lawn chairs to Band-Aids and aspirin to curling irons and blow dryers. we were even greeted with a welcome card and a homemade banana nut bread on the counter. Just amazing. There’s a restaurant called Mayberry’s, this is like living in a Norman Rockwell painting.They truly thought of everything…

Awesome place in every way. Super clean, comfortable and chuck full of amenities. It’s on a small private lake with private dock. Walking distance to downtown (PJs Ice Cream) or Manteno Sportsman’s Club, which has another larger lake with a cool swimming beach with a diving board and bar/restaurant. You get a club pass for 6 too! And a homemade banana bread! This place was great!! We’ll be back!!

Our stay was beyond our expectations! We were in town for a race event and it was the perfect getaway after a long day of racing. It’s tucked away in this peaceful, gorgeous town. We instantly fell in love with the property and town. The hosts were so kind they left us some homemade banana bread and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom and bedrooms were spacious. The entire house felt so inviting. It felt like we never left home! The backyard has plenty of seating and the views were beautiful. We loved our stay so much I already have plans to book this when we come back next year for our race. I was able to check the downtown portion out and it is so family friendly and feels like you’re in a hallmark movie. Thank you Annette for everything☺️

Instead of staying at hotel, we opted to stay a VRBO. The Cousin's Cottage was perfect for our family. We could still participate in the Family Weekend HOCO events at Olivet but then spend our evenings together, around a table, playing games and relaxing, grilling out. We took advantage of a nice morning, sitting by the lake drinking our coffee. It was very enjoyable. There were plenty of beds for all our family members and we all got a good nights sleep!

This charming little cottage on the lake makes a great home base for all the wonderful activities and towns around Manteno. It is also a great place to hang out with great fishing and a lovely fire pit with a beautiful view of the lake. This is our 3rd summer staying here and it always feels like home thanks to Rondy and Annette!

We needed a place for my family and friends to attend my mom's funeral. I can't imagine a more cozy and comfortable place to decompress as needed, or to celebrate as desired. The Christmas decorations were a big surprise and everyone was impressed with the thoughtfulness. It was our friends' first visit to Manteno and they loved it. The convenient walk to downtown allowed them to soak in more of the local flavor than if we stayed in a hotel. We highly recommend a stay!

Just spent a lovely weekend there with a friend and our daughters. I can't stress how wonderful this property was to stay at. It felt like we were visiting family. From the moment we walked in to to a loaf of delicious banana bread waiting on the counter with a wonderful note, to the comfort of every area in the house - it was a 10/10! We had a great time during our stay! Even though a lot of our time was spent at the festival, while we were home we had every amenity we needed. My daughters loved fishing the lake, and even still ask about the “Fish House” I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Manteno.

We were absolutely happy from coming in the front door and being greeted by lots of natural sunlight and delicious banana bread! We enjoyed the well maintained stone fire pit which was perfect for s'mores and stories. The place was perfect for our annual trip with my daughters to be able to do some painting and relaxing on a beautiful piece of property. I enjoyed some alone time out on the patio relaxing with a cup of coffee and looking at the serene lake. Great place! Clean, homey, and spacious.

This property is everything that you could hope for in a VRBO. From the lake to the space and comfort of the beds, the Manteno cottage is a hit with our family. The banana nut bread was to die for, actually the best I've ever had in my life.... It was quiet, relaxing, and safe. We didn't want to come back home. Staying at the Cousins Cottage was such an amazing experience for our family. We have been visiting the area for over 2 years to see our son who attends a local University. We have stayed in several hotels, both local and in Chicago. We will not even consider that now. The hospitality of the LaMore's is paramount, from the fresh baked Banana Bread when we arrived to the friendly text before our departure. My favorite time at the Cottage was mornings when my husband and I sat on the back patio, wrapped in blankets, drinking coffee and watching the beautiful fall leaves skip across the peaceful lake. It was such a wonderful time with our family and we excitedly anticipate to our next visit to Cousins Cottage.

Had a wonderful time at Cousin's Cottage! Enjoyed the "little lake" and the fishing boat that was provided. Thanks for bringing the battery charger down for us, we needed it. The cottage was very clean and cozy. The beds/pillows were comfortable. Nice towels in bathroom, few beach towels for use in laundry room cabinet. Kitchen had basic pans, skillets, etc. We cooked meals with no problems. There was a charcoal grill available for use on back patio along with a table that seats 6. Comfortable sofa and 2 chairs on patio as well. Enjoyed relaxing in the Adirondack chairs that were facing the lake and fire pit. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a class reunion in Manteno and a group of us girls spent several nights at the cousin cottage. We each had our own bed and there was lots of laughter around the dining table. We were welcomed with fresh banana bread baked by Annette and Rondy was there to explain anything we might have questions about. We sat by the lake and had wine in the afternoon and coffee in the morning. We all felt very much like Home. Some of our other classmates stopped by and there was plenty of room to have fun. Rondy and Annette could not have been any nicer. Would recommend to anyone who wants to feel like you’re at home away from home. Will return.

We had a great stay at Cousins Cottage, we only wish we would have had an extra day to just hang out at the cottage. It was clean, roomy, and COOL (temps were in upper 90s during our stay). It was so nice to come back from our daily activities, cool off and just relax! Downtown Manteno is a short walk down the street and a stroll down the main street takes you back in time. We walked to two different restaurants. Highly recommend!!

Was a wonderful cottage, all was ready when we arrived and met owners as we were packing to leave. Everything worked well and layout of home was very nice. Felt very much at home! Games in the home were enjoyed by our granddaughter with grandpa and grandma. Sitting at table on back patio and enjoying coffee in the morning was just perfect with the breeze coming off the lake. House was quiet and there was not a lot of street traffic.

Great cottage for our family visits when in the area. The cottage is quaint, with modern appliances, laundry and open common areas for people to spread out, enjoy meals, relax, play board games or just read. It's a quick, easy walk to shops, restaurants and bars if needed or to the local grain elevator if you've never seen one up close, which ours boys hadn't, haha!. Easy, two-minute drive to Highway 57. A late November visit was not the right time to truly enjoy the large backyard, patio, BBQ or the lake (brrr!), but perhaps in the future in a warmer month! Our hosts were fantastic, great communication. We will stay again - a far better choice than a hotel for a family of five!

We really enjoyed our stay at Cousins Cottage! The house was very well appointed and charming!! The Banana Bread that was made for us and waiting for us when we arrived was phenomenal!! Such a nice touch. The little lake was so stress free and fun with the paddle boats. We will definitely be back!
