We had 5 grandparents, 2 parents, 2 kids under 6 and 1 small dog. This was a great location for our first time seeing Hilton Head. The location on the island was great because it was easy to cross S. Forest Blvd. to the bike trail and an easy mile to Coligny Plaza or a drive to Sea Pines.The beach access was delightful and on this side of S. Forest, it really doesn't matter if you're 2nd or 6th row. You're so close, you can go to the beach for as long as you want and not feel like you have to stay all day. The two parents did a sunrise walk, which was beautifully peaceful. The house was very comfortable for our group. There's plenty of parking for 3-4 vehicles on the driveway. The pool area accommodated all of us and the kids had a great time in both the heatable pool and hot tub, when they weren't biking or in the ocean. I loved the primary upstairs with access to the front balcony, rocking chairs, and ceiling fans for an escape and to listen to the morning or evening sounds. The rest of the bedrooms are up a separate spiral staircase from the living room. The kids slept on the pull out couch in the front room, and since there's a door between that and the living room, the adults can stay up longer and not worry. The side porch was ideal for morning coffee or an afternoon beverage. Everything was very clean and the kitchen had all of the utensils we could need. The downstairs bathroom was very handy for all! We highly recommend this house and host!!

The property was great for my group of 6! This house is about proximity to the beach and Coligny Plaza, and it does not disappoint! Also, we loved having a section of the house for the adults and the upstairs back bedrooms were perfect for the kids. The instructions for the spa are a little hard to decipher, but once we were showed how to do it, it was fine. We loved the screened in porch for hanging out at night. The bikes were a delight, and the kids used them all week - it's so easy to get around the island on them. I think I would only ask the cleaners to do a better job of making sure all bathrooms have been looked at (toilets) before we get there. Also, just be aware that the smoke alarm is super sensitive - which is what it's supposed to be. It's easy to burn something on the induction stove if you aren't used to them. I'd stay here again. :)

The curb appeal on this property is great and located steps from the beach! It has a newly updated exterior with a great front porch for sitting! The unit is unique in that there are actually two living spaces, a master bedroom (newly updated bath) with small kitchen area (partial/newly updated) and living area (outdated furnishings) in one section of the house with a living room/dining room/kitchen (full) and three bedrooms in the other section of the house. I would not recommend this home if you have small children as the master is completely removed from the other bedrooms.
The main kitchen has been updated with new countertops, however the appliances and cabinets have not been updated. The ceiling in the kitchen is low with lighting that one needs to maneuver around if you are over 6 feet tall. The living/dining room is roomy, but the furnishings are older and could use a cleaning. The spiral staircase to the three bedrooms is unique; however, it may prove to be challenging for elderly. The bedrooms each have their own bathroom; however, no updates. We struggled with the air conditioning in the main part of the house. The lower level was freezing in order to cool the bedrooms upstairs.
The pool was in good condition. There was plenty of pool furniture; however, several of the seats on the chairs were torn and unusable. All the chairs were also in need of a good cleaning as they were mildewed.
The property management company was awesome! Great communication prior to our arrival and the keyless entry made our arrival seamless. We made a service call regarding a water leak and literally within minutes had someone on site evaluating the problem. The unit was very clean. Terrific customer service!
We have vacationed at Hilton Head for over 25 years and have experienced a wide range of rental homes. This South Forest Beach home has a great location to the beach and Coligny Plaza, yet did not provide the value we were expecting.
