From the outside, Gentle Ben's Den resembles a classic Smoky Mountain log cabin, but inside, it’s a modern retreat packed with luxury. With two distinct gaming areas for your group to spread out, the cabin features a Jacuzzi, pool table, foosball, air hockey, multi-game arcade, four king bedrooms, and free Wi-Fi.

Each of the three stories has a deck with stunning woodland views, complete with Adirondack chairs and rockers—perfect for taking in fall foliage or lush greenery. The main level features a screened-in porch with a hot tub, ideal for relaxing after a mountain adventure.

Inside, the great room is spacious and cozy, with wood furnishings from local artisans, a 50-inch HDTV, premium cable, a Blu-ray player, and a fireplace for après-ski drinks. We really enjoyed our vacation. The cabin was nice with lots of amenities. We all enjoyed the game rooms and the hot tub. The rooms were comfortable as well. We even saw bears every day outside our cabin. Suggestions for improvement would be in regards to the top floor shower head. It is not attached inside the wall and it feels like it might come dislodged when you change the shower spray strength. Need a heavier duty and longer shower curtain for the top floor shower as well. We didn’t use the dishwasher, even though it appears to be new, because it isn’t properly attached inside the cabinet. We decided to wash everything by hand. We would definitely visit again. We had a very enjoyable time.

Door code didn't work. Master bedroom had bedbugs. Shower curtain had mold. For the price that I payed I would expect the place would've been clean and free of bedbugs but not only was it dirty and moldy, the master bedroom had bedbugs. I arrived at the location after a full 10 hours of driving so what we all wanted was to shower and hit the bed but what we got instead was a door code that didn't work and an extra 2+ hours on the phone with customer service because contacting the host was a complete nightmare.

We had a GREAT time in Gatlinburg. This house is a great place for a big family! The grill on the deck did not work and if you want to cook meals there isn’t a lot of pans to pick from, so you might check that out before you purchase groceries. We had a little incident with the alarm system and cops came but everything checked out okay!!!

We had a family vacation since now our youngest graduated high school and our oldest college. We had a great time, both in and out of the cabin. The game room was a wonderful distraction on rainy evenings. The only downside is whoever is going to occupy the second floor bedroom needs to be very light on their feet because those on the main level will hear all.

Here are a few things that we noticed *No big sauce pan there is a small and medium. When cooking for a group need bigger pan. Had to use the dutch oven pot *No Pillow cases on the extra pillows in the master. When requested did not get them til the next day *No drip pan on grill. When grilling the dripping fell on the mat we did scrape them up but there needs to be a drip pan *Electric Can opener is hard to use and the manual one does not work *Killed some bugs in the living room area. Killed a huge spider in master shower. Couldn't tell exactly what they were. Yes i am aware we are in a wooded area. *The windows in the living room going to side porch need to be cleaned. Looks like it has been done in quite a while. *There is some mold on the shower door in the master bath. *The back door by the kitchen table sticks really tight and is very hard to open to go on the deck * the shower upstairs is leaking into the master shower The refrigerator has no railing on the shelf door so you cant use it. I was disappointed as these things should not be happening considering this type of rental this is. Please contact me for the photos. Of the items i am talking about.

The property was great. Communication before getting to the property was limited. Online stated check in at 3 check out at 11. Could not get a code before 4:00pm, and had to check out by 10:00am. Starting the day after we arrived, we got at least 2 messages a day about when we were supposed to leave. Literally had more text messages and emails about leaving in 3 days than I did about the actual reservation and stay over a period of 5 months.

First and foremost... the kidney shaped pool in the pictures does not exist. There is a different community pool down the road from the house. It is fenced in and NOT open Labor Day to Memorial Day so if you have kids that want to swim on spring break... this isn't the house for you. Our other deal breaker complaints... I would be hard pressed to find pillow as crappy as the ones they have. These are even below Wal-Mart level. They are probably a decade old, stained and they smell. Beds aren't much better. This "vacation" killed my back. The upstairs bed so loud the people who stayed in that room struggled to sleep. We were woken all night with the slightest shift as well, as we were in the room below them. When I say loud, I mean LOUD. I'm not sure if it is the bed or the floor but it's a bad deal... lol. I have a laundry list of complaints about this place. Bottom line is, pictures are taken with a wide angle lense and brightened. House is dirty, windows haven't been washed in I don't know how long, carpet and rugs are stained and gross, there is one 8" frying pan and about ten tiny (2-3 cups) pots (we had to buy cookware for our larger group), no cleaning products (be prepared to buy dish soap, paper towel, toilet paper, laundry soap, garbage bags, etc), NO VIEW (pictures aren't accurate), no garbage pick up, the upstairs shower is about to be a first floor shower, dining room table is too big for the space so the door hits every time you go in or out, there was a garbage bag of towels on the door knob when we arrived. They didn't give us enough towels for everyone to have their own. We had to go and purchase more towel for showering and so we could have some extras for the hot tub (which was gross, btw... ha!), couches are old and smell. Batting is gone in them and they also make noise. The sound they make sounds like a fart so at least we got a chuckle out of them. There isn't a single board game or deck of card complete enough to play. The layout of the house is good for large groups. It was nice having the kids downstairs. They just need to take some of the ridiculously high rental fees and put it back into the property. We were disappointed to say the least and really bummed out about how much we paid vs. what we got. I did not contact the rental company while we were there considering the list of items wrong with the house wasn't going to be rectified. We didn't want cleaners and workers in the house while

The top floor shower leaked in the ground floor bathroom. Ground floor toilet leaked into bottom floor bedroom so the bed was not sleepable. Reported immediately upon finding, and was told I would be contacted first thing Sunday morning. I never heard anything from anyone. The cabin itself was nice, spacious, and cozy but we were afraid to use the water after finding the second leak. The experience was not pleasant but we made the best of it.

Overall our stay was good. The cabin was awesome with 3 floors to keep everyone separated and the sauna in the basement was an awesome bonus. However, the hot tub did not work which was disappointing especially to the little people with us begging to get in. And the cabin wasn’t very clean - picked up but not clean. Several bugs and dust/dirt everywhere. Just didn’t feel clean and comfortable while in there which was a bummer. Especially with small children you want to feel that you are in a clean space.

We shared this cabin with another couple and there was plenty of room to be together or apart as needed. Everything was very neat and clean. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub and the pool table. The only thing we didn't like was that the location is not where it is advertised. It is actually 4 miles from downtown Gatlinburg, not walking distance, so you do have to drive into town and pay for parking.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Gentleman Ben’s cabin. They had everything we needed and then some. The kids enjoyed playing air hockey while the adults quizzed each other on trivia games after our days of sightseeing.

There were 8 of us that traveled to Gatlinburg from Hot Springs, AR and this cabin was perfect for us. They even provided us with 2 air mattresses on arrival for a few of our guests that didn’t want to share a bed. Property management were quick to come fix the garbage disposal when it wouldn’t work as well.

Cabin was clean but could use a little more attention in some areas. The closet where washer was, needed some cleaning. Lots of dust and clothes around and behind. Porches could use some attention. Table on porch by hot tub was rusting. Back door in kitchen area was very hard to open. Shower in upstairs bathroom felt like the bottom was going to break when standing on it. Floors were very creaky. Location was excellent. Overall a nice place.

It is a great looking house and we did enjoy the day. However, a few things went wrong with the house. 1. The hot tub. After reading some previous reviews, the hot tub was an issue and continued with us. We had to call 4 different times to get it to work and in the end, it had a shorted wire and they were unable to fix it. Hopefully, for future stays, it has been fixed. I’d reach out to be assured it works. 2. Cleanliness. Parts of the house were fine but there was still major dust and dirty floors/ bathrooms. We had to clean it up. I think some attention to detail would be great and a thorough cleaning should be done after every stay. 3. Loose siding on the jet tub in the main room, a rocking chair in the hot tub room that was broken, and outdated furniture. Fixing up some loose ends on that and things that are work down would make this place better. 4. Gas logs did not work. Called their desk and the lady said it was cut off due to it being summer and also a law that was in effect that made them cut the gas line off. First, it wasn’t summer and the lows were in the 40s ( which made the house cooler) and the law about it had to be shut off during this time was bogus, as neither the maintenance guys or anyone else I talked to in customer service ever heard of that so that was disappointing. I will say their customer service gets 5 stars. I let them know of the issues and they credited me back some of the fee. This is a nice place with some great attributes but I’d be sure that amenities DO work ( especially the hot tub).

Upon arriving there was a disgusting mess in one of the beds and there were not enough linens for the 5 of us staying there. After 6 hours in the car, we had to wait for a wonderful young man Chris to come to our rescue and clean up the mess, put the door knob back on, put bulbs in about 9 ceiling lights, and he was gracious enough to go and pick up more linens. The carpeting is not clean in the house, our white socks were black! The toaster only worked for two slices and there was not a single staple in the house like salt, pepper and sweetners. There were no directions for operating the plethara of remotes in the house, the upstairs toilet rocked on a wooden platform. It is in a development where the houses are very close together and we lost a night's sleep due to excessively noisy neighbors well after the 10 pm quiet hours for the neighborhood. We had to search for the WIFI information since what was on the refrigerator did not, but going through the house looking for the modem and we found it taped to the back of it. The trundle bed and the sofa were well worn and not comfortable for sleeping. There are broken blinds in the house and everything was very dusty. House needs a very deep cleaning. I have rented 14 houses on VRBO and this is the one and only time I was disappointed.

Very nice cabin thats just a little drive away from the Gatlinburg strip. I would like to "warn" that the map on vrbo is not accurate to the actual location of these cabins. If you google the address you will find that its roughly 10 min away from the strip vs. the map showing it close to the Ripleys Aquarium. This is something vrbo needs to update and not the cabin company. This was very comfortable for a family stay with small kids. They were entertained just by the amount of space available and going up and down the stairs. The air hockey worked great and was fun to use. It doesnt keep the scores but thats nbd. The board games are pretty mixed up but we didnt use them. The arcade was working perfectly and the pool table was entertaining for us adults. The jacuzzi is older and takes a few hours to fully heat, so if you plan to use it Id advise turning it on to 100 as soon as you get there for it to be hot by late night. Cabin overall was super clean! We had no problems being "bear" foot, no signs of dirt on our feet at all. It does look like they fixed the leak mentioned in other reviews from the bathtub leaking downstairs. However, if you have small kids that need help bathing and you lean on the tub, the wood frame seems to spray the water out. We informed maint, so it may be some time before its fixed but its just a heads up. Beds were comfy and we slept well but they could use new mattresses soon. They are fairly firm so if you like really soft beds, you may want to bring your own bed padding to put on top. The property also has a playground next to the outdoor pool but it does get black bear visitors so just be aware! Overall this cabin was such a treat and great for a family!! We would definitely go here again! We even went here when it was pouring rain but was still very enjoyable!

Hot tub didnt work for the first 3 days of the stay, Grill was broken, the billiard ball that was broken in someone's review from October of 2020 was still broken (google Gentle Ben's Den), the dining room chairs were weak and wobbly, the screen of TV in the master bedroom was shattered, no foosball in the foosball table, water leaking from the upstairs bathroom down into the master bedroom, no batteries in the Xbox Controller, and the Dry Sauna was broken. Then you cannot get ahold of a manager for the property. If you have a complaint you will receive a call back in 5-7 business days. They just kept telling me that if people dont report things then they dont know it's broken. Who's issue is that? The management or the people spending thousands of dollars to have a vacation? So I beg you go spend thousands of dollars elsewhere so you can have a vacation that isn't hindered daily by something else that the property management cant be bothered to check on and have fixed before you arrive. Oh, and just fyi, you cannot dispute the charges if you actually stay. So unless you have the money to buy a second hotel for your family in the event that Jackson Mountain Homes drops the ball on yet another of their properties, I would not risk staying in one of their properties.

We stayed a couple of weeks ago. Great location. Clean. The fireplaces were wonderful since we stayed while it was cold outside. Getting to Gatlinburg was super easy. You have to check out some of the shops closer to the cabin too! It was easy to get to the grocery store. Not bad for our last trip to Gatlinburg with a senior in high school that has decided to join the Marines. We enjoyed our stay.

Cons was quite a bit if excess dust, and almost all of the furniture was tired and could have used some restuffing. View was missing but walking around property did find some nice views.

the fire place stopped working property manager sent someone out and the next day it stopped working again. no one came back out to fix it. We were not able to use the hot tub because the water holes was not there to fill it. Other then that it was a great cabin. good location close to the downtown area and most of the attraction.

Our family of 7 loved staying at Gentle Ben’s Cabin! There was plenty of space and so many fun things to do. Our kids had an amazing time!!! That being said, there are a number of easy upgrades that would take this cabin from good to great. First, several of the furnishings are in desperate need of replacing - the couch, downstairs mattresses, and several dining table chairs. The DVD player and XBox on the main floor don’t work. We spent $6 to buy 4 proper pucks for the air hockey table and screws to fix the handles on the foosball table. We spent an hour organizing the mess of board games to find that only one had the proper pieces to be playable. The bedspread on the upper floor is torn and threadbare, and all of the window treatments throughout the cabin need a serious wash/dusting. The kitchen is roomy, with good storage, but is lacking basic kitchen tools such as measuring cups & spoons, can opener, etc. The hot tub may need servicing as we couldn’t get it over 95* after heating it for two hours. Basic cleaning tasks have obviously been maintained but a proper deep clean is definitely needed (ceiling fans, cobwebs, air intakes, etc). Bottom line: If you’re looking for a fun and functional family getaway, your kids are sure to love this place. However, if you’re looking for luxury, keep up the search.

The property was a great location and great to stay at! We loved the game room and even though we did not get to use it, the sauna! Although the property overall was great, there were a few small issues with the property. The property just felt like it had a "quick clean/wipe down". The showers were black in the bottom and there were cobwebs everywhere. It felt clean, but overall like the cabin was not thoroughly cleaned in a long time, let alone from the last guests (items still on the floor like it had not been swept, leaves, wrappers, etc.). Overall the cabin was great, we just wished it had been a little more clean. Overall, we would stay again.
