An architectural gem dating back to 1860, Broughton Estate showcases original historic details including intricate ironwork, soaring ceilings, grand parlors, and meticulously maintained interiors that blend timeless elegance with modern comfort. Enter the home on the ground level, where you’ll find a fully stocked kitchen designed for extended stays, a cozy breakfast nook, and a large, inviting bedroom featuring a King bed.
On the second floor, impeccable crown moldings frame the bright and grand parlors, creating an ideal space for gathering and entertaining. A formal dining room with seating for six opens seamlessly to the tastefully decorated living room, offering both comfort and flow for group stays.
Located on the third floor are two spacious bedrooms — one with a Queen bed and Twin sleeper chair, and a primary suite with a King bed. Guests will enjoy luxurious beds dressed in hotel-grade linens, professionally prepared for each stay, along with generous closet space for unpacking and settling in. The primary suite includes an en suite bath with double vanity, standing shower, and a large soaking tub for relaxing after a day exploring Savannah’s Historic District.
Walk past the main home and through the expansive private courtyard to access the Carriage House. The upper-level studio and ground-level studio apartments each feature a full bathroom and fully stocked kitchen, offering additional privacy and flexibility for larger groups, multi-family travel, or wedding guest accommodations. Decorated with classic Southern touches while prioritizing guest comfort, each Queen-size bed is dressed in hotel-grade linens, professionally pressed between visits. The house was beautiful, but the description was a little deceiving. The layout is choppy with a bedroom on the first floor and then two more up on the third in the main house. Half baths in the hallways on the first 2 floors then the other two bathrooms with showers on the 3rd floor. Making the 1st floor person have to go up 2 steep staircases to get to the shower. This should be clearer, as we had a person with a knee replacement and getting up to the top showers was not possible. I also had an issue with the office. They gave the codes to a person who arrived before us, but they never check to make sure that person was even in our party. I paid for the rental and the people who arrived early showed no proof of being part of our rental party, yet they were given all the codes to get in. Also, the entire main house has terrible mildew issues. I had to stay in the carraige house as the odor was so bad on every floor and in every room. The cottage and carraige house were also musty but nothing compared to the main house. All 8 of us that stayed on the property had to take allergy meds to stay there and two of us had to start using our inhalers because of the allergens.
