Property was huge as well as clean and functional. The architecture was interesting and despite not having AC (common for Europe of course), it was well insulated and didn't get too hot on those summer days. The decoration of the house itself was very interesting, and it's clear that the owner loves to travel and loves books. This left us with a cozy feeling for the house.
MariaVittoria put together an amazing binder with suggestions for visiting local sites. We took the opportunity to visit the Grotte near Caglieron (Fregona) based on what we saw in her book. This was a fantastic day for us seeing an interesting site that we didn't know existed.
My only concerns were that the downstairs bedroom needed a proper bed instead of a futon. There were four of us staying in the house so we didn't need the separate section and wanted to keep our daughters close. In addition, we weren't clear from the listing that two of the bedrooms were on the third floor. This wasn't a big issue as the views from upstairs were wonderful. Finally, the gated entry was a concern as the gate did not consistently open fully and came close to creating damage to the side of our car. This gate really needs to open fully to make access easier, especially with the blind entry.
