Our fully remodeled, centrally located, quiet Crested Butte home sits on two lots 1½ blocks off Elk Avenue, the popular main street in Crested Butte lined with colorful Victorian storefronts and restaurants of every variety. The historic home was extensively and elegantly renovated and enlarged in 2015 providing over 1,700 square feet of living space, a large yard and patio and a hot tub.
Great place any time of year. Quiet neighborhood, yet less than 2 blocks from center of Elk Ave, the main restaurant, bar and retail store scene. Walk or bike everywhere. Skiers heaven with Free shuttle to slopes 1/2 block away. Avoid long, cold walks to base area lugging your gear. Just hop on a warm bus and you are there in minutes.
With a large open living area, well appointed kitchen and dining area, 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, laundry, mudroom, deck and patio, the home comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests. It has off street parking for 2 vehicles. You can leave the cars parked at the house and walk, bike or bus everywhere.
The original house was turned into one open living space that includes a great room with a vaulted ceiling and views of Mt. Crested Butte, an open kitchen with granite counter tops, a slate floor and a center island containing a gas range and counter seating for 3, plus an adjoining dining room with seating for 8, a built in buffet and hard wood floors. There is a gas fireplace in the great room, which has a vaulted ceiling, with a large hi-definition TV viewable from the living room, kitchen and dining area. The house and yard have WIFI. Each bedroom has its own TV, and there is a supply of games for kids of all ages.
Off the great room downstairs is a private master bedroom with a king bed, a full bath with a tiled shower and a mudroom for skis and coats with a washer and dryer. The other two bedrooms are upstairs along with the second bath. One bedroom has a queen bed, and the other bedroom has 2 trundle beds easily accommodating either 2 adults or up to 4 children. The upstairs bath has a tub/shower combination, and the upstairs landing serves as a small office.
There is a large fenced side yard with a nice patio area, a gas grill and wonderful views of the mountain. Next door is a small public children’s park. Across the street from the park is the stop for the free Mountain Express shuttle bus to the ski resort that runs every 20 minutes during ski season and every 40 minutes the rest of the year. The Nordic Center is just a few blocks away.
Conditions: Minimum stay: 5 nights during holidays and 4 nights the rest of the year

House had everything we needed - plenty of dishes and towels and room for two families of 4 with small kids. Great location close to town and right next to the shuttle stop for the mountain.

The house is very cozy and in a great location! The bad things: 1. TV would not work no matter what we tried. (They know it’s a problem because the info book says to be patient with the remotes). 2. The grill was completed buried in snow and we got food to grill. Had to dig it out the hard packed with no shovels. 3. The hot tub cover was also snowed in so the lid wouldn’t open all the way. Again had to hang dig hard packed snow to use it. 4. reached out to the property owner before our stay and got no response. 5. The dryer bearings are bad has a very loud squeak that is intolerable. (We didn’t know until after washing stuff so then had to dry it with no other option)Overall, the property is great but very poorly managed.
