refrigerator is too small and falls forward when the door is opened. The hall light going up the stairs to the unit is not working which made going up and down the stairs at night a perilous. The furniture is very dated. The rocking chair needs replacing! When sitting in the rocking chair a person sinks deep into the springs and jt has the tendency to fall backwards. No-one felt it was safe. We were in town for an event so we were out most of our time there, Main concerns were the refrigerator, the uncomfortable chairs and the lack of lighting on the stairs.

Owner was very fast at replying to online questions and key was ready when we got there. Suite was very clean and plenty big for two people. Beds quite comfortable. Drawbacks were that it was warm (August), no a/c and all but two windows don't open. There's a door to the balcony we left open overnight but couldn't get cross breeze so it was too warm at night. Street below can be noisy at night/early morning with door and two windows open. Wouldn't be a problem during cool months.

This was a great apartment for two people that want separate (comfortable beds). We were on a bike trip, going to a different island each day. The apartment was just 3 blocks uphill from the ferry and was perfect for our purposes. Annie was a wonderful host and gave us a great tip on dinner (10th House, across the street, farm to table fare). The place was clean. The tiny efficiency kitchen had a coffee drip machine, refrigerator, toaster, microwave, sink, glasses/cups, plates, bowls, and silverware. Great little "living room area" with comfy furniture, a kitchen table, and a great bathroom/shower/bath. Overall 5 stars, 2 thumbs up.

Older building but spacious, lots of light. If hot it may be not be comfortable if warmer weather due to lack of ventilation. No supplies but we did know that. Perry was easy to work with.

My best friend was visiting from England and I thought a trip to San Juan Island would be a nice excursion with my adult daughters tagging along. The apartment is really cute and clean with a little outdoor balcony with table and chairs. Very close to the Ferry so great for either walking on or driving on. Parking spot for use. Many great restaurants nearby.

Downtown location was great (incl off street parking) allowing for walking to most venues. Suite was large and comfy. Only complaint (not a responsibility of the owner) was one night there was a nearby, loud & pounding concert that did not end until 12:04am!

Funk & Junk lodging was great! Simple check-in.The rooms were very clean and tidy. We enjoyed our host's artwork on the walls. Absolutely PERFECT location right downtown close to shops, restaurants, whale museum, Susie's mopeds and the ferry. Loved sitting on the balcony late afternoon enjoying the city view. Would highly recommend and would stay there again if we get back to Anacortes!

This was very spacious. Very clean. two comfortable beds. We could walk everywhere. The town closes down early as it is off season. So a little bigger tv would have been great since you are in at dusk. We loved this place.

We enjoyed our stay at Nichols Street Suites. Our apartment had two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, and a small coffee bar/sink, small refrigerator, and kitchen table. It was perfect for me and my husband. We were within walking distance to most everything we wanted to visit including the Saturday Market and waterfront area. We will definitely be back.

Four nights right in the heart of beautiful downtown Friday Harbor, with everything just steps away. Three days of biking around the island, with beautiful weather throughout. There was a classical music festival right across the street every day! Everything about this stay was FANTASTIC!

We really love the location of our lodging.. Beds were very comfortable, and the place was clean. I would recommend having screens on the windows because it was very stuffy and the portable fan was way too loud. I would definitely come back.

Funk and Junk did not disappoint! A step back in time for us. Super cute, super clean and the absolute best location in Friday Harbor for walking anywhere. Breakfast literally outside your window, Sea and Salt and Farmers Market across the street and San Juan Brewery around the corner along with a coffee stand. Great deck for mornings and evening relaxation. Totally recommend!!

Chosen as it was under $200 for an expensive Island. The reason for the 4 rating…no AC (we knew that) and with the very early line up of trucks at the ferry, we were woken each morning at 5:20am. When we decided to just have coffee (which we needed to purchase, Annie said she hasn’t provided for years) the machine’s heating element was broken. On the positive side, we asked if there was a place for our electric bikes…we were offered a side shed. Lastly, the TV was smaller than my desktop monitor.

This place is within walking distance of all of downtown Friday Harbor and the waterfront. Check in process was a breeze with Annie and the room was clean. We were out and about for most of our stay but did watch a movie one night in the living area. We would definitely recommend this place!

Overall, a comfortable and convenient place. Owners are lovely and check-in was simple. Easy walk from the ferry terminal and close to everything in town. Has off street parking if you need it. We stayed in unit 2 which is at the front and has a deck overlooking the street and nearby restaurants. Lovely spot to relax in the evening. There are two bedrooms, one queen and one full. Both comfortable. Kitchen is pretty basic and didn’t have a coffee maker but there are several options for coffee close by. Fridge definitely needs defrosting. Be aware that they request that you don’t flush toilet paper and ask you to place it in a trash bin instead.

Friday Harbor is a quaint little town. This place was a perfect place to walk to everything in town, including the ferry. It was just 2 of us, but it could have easily accommodated 2 couples, or a small family. Things in town close early. It was nice getting food to go and having a quiet sunset dinner on the balcony. I'd readily stay here again!

Nice location for our first trip to Friday Harbor. Would have comfortably slept 5 to 6 adults in the smaller apartment with the fold out sofa. The street facing porch was an added bonus. The only disappointment was lack of a coffee maker.

The property is centrally located, the hosts are friendly and the suite layout was comfortable for 2 adults or a family of 3-4. Only 2 important issues to be aware of an otherwise nice stay: 1) The plumbing is very weak and you are not allowed to flush toilet paper. You must wipe and toss it in the garbage. 2) The refrigerator does not work and a coffee pot is not provided. Both issues could be easily remedied for future guests but it’s worth asking the host for these amenities prior to booking.

Our main weekend activities were at Roche Harbor, 25 minute drive away. This unit was more affordable than places closer to Roche. The unit is much roomier than expected, comfortable and has an interesting view from the windows and deck to watch passersby traffic below. Walking distance to all of Friday Harbors. We recommend and will stay again.

I stayed at Nicholas Street Suites and Lodging for a total of 10 days - the first week in the smaller apartment at the front of the building, and the last few days in the bigger unit with my sister. The location of this place is awesome. Friday Harbor isn't big, so once there, you can walk everywhere - and these apartments were right in town. Annie was great about answering questions and coordinating with me. Both units have 2 Q/double beds, each in their own room. There are pros and cons to both. The bigger unit has a full kitchen and very large living area. It is also at the back of the house, so the deck is more private. The only con to this unit is that the bathroom is located in one of the bedrooms. This did not bother us, but it is good to know. The smaller unit is really quite large itself, but does not have a full kitchen. It is a bit noisier because it is in the front of the house and on the street, but I didn't mind this at all. The only way to access the units are stairs - just in case this is a problem for anyone. And there are no screens on the windows, so you do get a few flying insects inside. Both units were immaculately clean. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were well-stocked. I would most definitely stay in either unit again!

I enjoyed 3 nights in Friday Harbor in this very comfortable, home-like apartment. This place has character, good character, it's not a cookie-cutter commercial space. It's a quiet neighborhood (but I guess that's true for Friday Harbor in general), with easy access to coffee (just around the corner), restaurants and shops. Annie, the host, couldn't be nicer, full of information, warm and welcoming. I especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and reading. Slept well - really, what's not to like.

It was all I expected and more. I was there in September so weather didn't need air conditioning. Lots of room, lots of deck. Would love to rent it again.. I wish downstairs was open as I would have liked to buy something but we had to leave early in the morning before she opened. Kind lady. Great location, have breakfast on one side and rent a scooter on the other side
