About this apartment rental

Our ground floor unit is located in the Melia "M" Cluster, and is among the newest and most private buildings in the Maui Kamaole complex. We extensively remodeled our condominium, including - new tile floors throughout; new tiled, walk-in showers; new cabinets/vanities in the kitchen and bathrooms; new stainless steel appliances in the kitchen; new, much quieter split air conditioning systems in the living room and bedroom, upgraded lighting throughout, new plumbing hardware, etc.

If you have mobility issues, no problem. You will not need to climb any stairs or steps to our condo. You are just a short walk from your dedicated parking spot, L-22, to our front door.

Our unit boasts a spacious lanai off the living room, as well as a private courtyard in the rear, off the bedroom. Since this unit was among the last constructed, the architect incorporated many improvements in the design of the "M" cluster. Thus, our condo makes better use of the same amount of space compared to older Maui Kamaole condos constructed in the earlier years of the development.

Our unit has a beautiful garden view. Unlike some other units in the Maui Kamaole complex overlooking South Kihei Road, we do not have the corresponding traffic noise (e.g., garbage trucks rolling down the road or entering the small boat harbor at 6 AM). You are also close to the upper pool area, but not so close as to be burdened with any noise from the pool. Likewise, you do not have to contend with a noisy parking lot, as some units overlook a parking lot. (And that would be your view.)

Many of our previous guests have commented how much they appreciated a relaxing breakfast on our lanai, before starting the day's activities. It is also a way to economize, both your hard earned time off and your vacation dollars.

Our condominium is also very, very near the best BBQ area in Maui Kamaole (not even a minute away). The area has plenty of seating for the guys to sit and drink a beer or other adult drink and discuss sports with their fellow travelers while they are watching over the grill. And, we have not one, but two grills. So you will most likely never have to wait your turn.

Two tennis courts, recently refurbished and resurfaced, are again a short walk from the condo (i.e., less than a minute). Again, you should not hear the noise from either of these locations, as both locations are subject to the House Rules regarding quiet hours. Before you ask, Maui Kamaole does not allow pickle ball. The County does have at least one location where you can play pickle ball.

We are just a short walk to Kamaole III Beach. This beach is one of the best kept secrets on the island. The "Locals" love the park and beach. Each evening you will find them there to watch the sunset with their family and friends and play with their dogs. We often go to the park to watch the sunset. We are also less than a ten minute walk to Keawakapu Beach, one of the nicest beaches on the island.

If you are debating whether to select a resort in west Maui versus south Maui, south Maui wins hands down. We have more and less crowded beaches, better water activities available, and the auto traffic is much, much lighter. One other important factor to consider is that there is only one road from west Maui to the airport. Good luck getting to the airport if there's an accident on that dangerous, two-lane highway from west Maui to Wailuku/Kahului. In the last month as I am writing this, there have been two accidents that completely shut down the road, one of them was a fatal accident.

Since we live just five minutes away on Maui, we frequently visit the condominium to ensure that all the appliances and gadgets are in good, working order. You can contact us by phone, text message or email for a prompt response to your question or concern.

We are aware of many condominiums poorly outfitted - for example, televisions that should have been recycled years ago, one pan/ pot for cooking, two coffee cups, five forks, phones that don't work, etc. The list could go on. Some owners never visit their units and are only interested in maximizing revenue with minimal investment in their unit. This is a classic case of buyer beware when selecting a condo to spend your hard earned vacation dollars and vacation time.

We recently installed a state-of-the-art, 55-in HD television, with all the Smart TV features. We subscribe to Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Amazon, etc. We also recently installed a 43-in, Smart HDTV for the master bedroom with the same functionality as the living room television. We have a full lineup of channels, including premium channels, from the local cable provider.

Since Hawaii is two or three hours behind the West Coast, many of those live shows will broadcast several hours earlier than normal on the mainland. You can DVR these programs on either television.
Normal departure is 11 AM. Many, if not most of our guests, depart in the late afternoon or evening flights. Very often these same guests regret not having booked another day, so that they could maximize their activities on that final day. Please consider adding that day, if yours is a later flight. Think about all the money you will spent on airfare, car rental, food, activities in comparison to one more day's rental. Many of our rentals are back to back, and we do not have the flexibility in accommodating an extended departure time.

In addition to the big screen HD TVs, we provide free, wireless internet access within the condo and free long distance telephone access to the mainland and Canada.
We recently added a new, plush, pillow-top king size bed in the master bedroom. You will enjoy a great night's sleep.
This is a non-smoking condominium. Maui Kamaole is a non-smoking complex. If you are a smoker, you are advised to seek accommodations elsewhere.
We comply with the State of Hawaii in collecting and paying taxes. We remit those taxes to the County and State on a monthly or quarterly basis in full compliance with the law. Our GET License and TAT Certificate ID numbers are GE (TA)-214-427-6480-01, respectively. We have posted copies of these documents in our condominium. The total of the two State taxes and the one County tax is 17.75 percent and is applied to the sum of the cleaning and check-in fees ($245) plus the total daily cost of the rental. VRBO's software automatically calculates this sum when you book the condo.

Joe and Linda’s M-110 condo is a little slice of paradise! As an end unit away from the highway, it offers a quiet and private retreat, perfect for couples looking to relax. The location is ideal—close to the pool but far enough to avoid any noise. The condo is well-equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, including two bathrooms, which makes getting ready hassle-free.The king-size bed was a dream—both my husband and I have bad backs, yet we slept incredibly well. The Maui Kamaole complex is just across from Kamaole Beach III, and the walk to the beach takes only about five minutes.What truly set this stay apart was Joe and Linda’s attentiveness. This was my ninth trip to Hawaii using VRBO, and I’ve never had owners check in to ensure everything was going smoothly or see if we needed anything. Their hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable.If you’re a couple (or even a solo traveler) looking for a peaceful, well-appointed condo in a great location, this is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommended!

We stayed in the unit for two weeks. The unit was very clean and well equipped. Although it is located at the back of the complex it is close to the pool, tennis courts and BBQ area. We were never disturbed by any noise from these facilities.The Maui Kamaole complex has beautifully maintained gardens and is in a great location for walking to the Kamaole Beaches and Keawakapu Beach (our favourite). It is also close to the main commercial strip in Kihei for shopping and restaurants. However we did enjoy having a rental car to explore more of Maui.We had a wonderful relaxing vacation and hope to be back again soon
