About this house rental
Nestled in the canyon right next to RIFLE FALLS STATE PARK this unique property places you in the middle of an outdoor paradise. The park is a lush greenery with cascading waterfalls, mysterious limestone caves, wonderful trails, abundant wildlife, and great fishing. Continuing on upstream, past the fish hatchery,and on into the narrowing canyon is beautiful RIFLE MOUNTAIN PARK, full of creekside picnic tables, ice caves, and some of the best limestone sport climbing in North America. From there you enter the WHITE RIVER NATIONAL FOREST, 2.3 million square miles of wonderland. Downhill a few miles from the house is RIFLE GAP STATE PARK and HARVEY GAP STATE PARK, 2 clear reservoirs packed full of fun flat water activities. If you are not familiar with this area, I encourage you to check the map and Google it to discover what opportunities await you. For a dose of town, Glenwood Springs is just 26 miles away, Rifle 13 miles.
Sitting on 2.5 private acres this 1800 sq/ft home offers the perfect 3 couple or 2 family setup. Each of the 2 upstairs bedrooms has a king size bed and the large downstairs bedroom has 2 queens. The bedrooms do not share any wall or floor space for more privacy. There are 2 full bathrooms, one on each floor. Upstairs is the spacious fully equipped kitchen, breakfast nook, nicely furnished living room, and huge east facing deck. Downstairs is the cozy family room with a wood pellet stove, television, and dinning table for 8. There is Wi-Fi, and cell phone service. The front of the house is fenced in for your security with a shaded patio, large picnic table, and yard area. All towels and bedding are provided. We have highchairs and cribs if needed.

We came to Colorado on a family vacation, as our closest friends have moved to the Denver area, so naturally my husband's BFF came along for the ride. Prior to having children, we referred to him as our adopted son, but now that we have children of our own, he is their "uncle" - family by choice. This house was perfect! Our children slept downstairs and the grown-ups had the upstairs. The guys loved the trail behind the house and climbed a mountain and brought back brautiful photos while the ladies stayed behind and watched a movie, eating snacks. We easily visited all 3 state parks and checked out the different caves. The house had everything we needed and was exactly what we wanted. Enough room to spread out so there was no stepping on one anothers toes. The views could not be better. The best part was meeting our host, Tom. I cannot say enough positive things about this man. He is such a kind, genuine, lovely guman being. By the time we left, I felt like we were saying good-bye to a family friend. We've been watching the news and hoping the wildfires dont make it to his home because we know what a labor of love that has been. We were honored to have been able to stay there for a few days and would love to return. I think my husband's exact words, "You should tell Tom to contact us if he ever wants to sell..." In summary, 5 stars - would highly recommend. It was perfect!

On the rustic side as befits the area but clean and perfect for families with extensive outdoor sitting areas on both floors. Also 2 family rooms with TVs etc. only 1/2 mile from rifle falls state park and 15 minutes to town. Tom easy to work with and easily reached if needed.

Check in was great! Kitchen facilities were good. Could have been a little cleaner. Garbage can had food on the side. Some cobwebs in the downstairs bedroom. Could use a swifter for under the beds too. Great place beds were comfy!
