About this house rental
Lovely large private suite, family- friendly, private sandy beach 20 steps from the door! Floor to ceiling windows throughout giving panoramic views towards the open Pacific, Lennard Island Lighthouse and Tonquin Beach. The Tonquin Trail begins adjacent and leads through virgin rainforest, platform lookouts over Templar Channel and two more beautiful sandy beaches.The UNESCO Biosphere of Clayoquot Sound is at your doorstep. The three bedroom, two bathroom suite, large living room, dining room, with hand adzed beams, wood-burning fireplace, and sundeck create an ambiance not replicated in other Tofino homes. There is a very comfortable king-sized bed in the master bedroom with adjacent three piece en-suite, queen bedroom with completely new shower en-suite, and twin bedroom with extra long twin beds. The living area is spacious enough for games, the fireplace, and flat screen TV. The dining room table seats 6 comfortably. A large south facing sundeck wraps around the three bedrooms, overlooking Tonquin Beach. At the main entrance, there is a covered deck with barb-b-que.
Following the 20 steps down to the west facing beach on a short path there is a beautiful pocket sandy beach, perfect for relaxing, sunsets, outdoor beach games or a hot dog roast. There is also an outdoor fire pit on the property adjacent to the beach- (when fires are permitted by law). The stunning Tonquin Trail can be enjoyed by the walking path at the top of the driveway, or at low tide from the small beach on the property. Tonquin Beach is a hidden treasure, with Indigenous cultural history, scenic caves, and a natural freshwater pool perfect for young children to splash in and enjoy. For those interested in fishing, you can try your luck by casting for fish right off the rocks in front of the house from June to September !
If you prefer, you can walk the 1 km. road into town to enjoy an evening meal or go shopping.

Absolutely stunning location just off Tonquin Beach. The suite is on the lower floor of the main residence with its own private entrance and was the perfect set up for our family (2 adults and 2 kids - 1 preteen, 1 teen). The views were amazing, the beach access was perfect. Cathy was friendly and attentive. The rooms were tidy and comfortable and laundry was made available to us by request. Some minor cobwebs in less seen locations around the home but nothing to worry about. We had a great trip to Tofino and look forward to visiting again.

Amazing rental with everything you could ever need. Fantastic hosts who are easy to contact and go above and beyond. Bedding was very comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. The beach was gorgeous and such a great place to relax. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

This is a great Tofino property right adjacent to the Tonquin trail to the beach and with direct access albeit with stairs, some of which are not accompanied with rails. The lodging was great for three guys who have been getting together for more than 50 years. The kitchen is well stocked and the host always willing to provide what might have been needed. We did use the grill for a couple of our dinners (featuring fish acquired from The Fish Store). There are about 16 steps (probably 8" height each) down to the lodging....keep in mind. The view is excellent and the bird sounds superb as we identified at least eight different species. Proximity to town is very good. All in all a very good choice. We were even provided with fresh flowers and homemade bars.

I ( along with my adult kids and grandkids) had a great stay! The Bedrooms all had a view of the ocean and comfy beds and the big living room was perfect and planning our activities and resting up after a busy day. Cathy gave us the best tips for hiking and beach walks including renting wet suits and boogie boards to play all day in the cold Pacific Ocean. We had a blast. We all would have loved to stay longer. Thanks Cathy!
