Everything was first-rate, and delivered as promised. On first glance, the property appears fairly new, hardly used, and belies its age. Only careful inspection reveals that this house has been here for a while. The rotary dial phone, the old Honeywell thermostat controls, the pool table, etc., create the effect of a time capsule. But then everything is incredibly clean and well looked after. The furniture could be 50 years old or 5 years old. It's impossible to tell. The views were fantastic. Can you find comparable views? Likely. Different views? Certainly. Better? Hard to imagine. We took full advantage of the kitchen and ubiquitous "campground" grill in the front. On nights one and two, I disregarded that you are in black bear country and just cooked away as I normally would. On night three, a bear rolled into the neighbor's backyard around dinner, did not want to leave, and so killed any plans to cook out that night. Makes me wonder how close they were on nights one and two.Yeah. Bears. At an estimated 2 per square mile, I guess it's inevitable, and this listing has other pictures of the bears on the property. When ours visited, she eventually came through a gap in the fence, walked across our backyard, up the hill, and into the driveway by my car. I leaned into the fact that bear and (wo)man co-exist here, and came to an agreement. I'd quietly take pictures of her, and she would quietly not come after me.Highly recommended place to stay!

Fantastic property. Great host. Experience was like I was staying at the home of a “friend of a friend.” Jim is thoughtful and is committed to ensuring his guests have a great time. I can’t wait to stay here again.

House was in excellent condition, view was beautiful, and hot tub was wonderful. I only wish there had been a few more of the disposable amenities available, such as toilet paper, paper towels. I was warned that they may have run out at the end of season, and to bring some. But other than that everything was great!

Our family spent a long weekend in mid-October and couldn’t have been more pleased. Gatlinburg was a madhouse as expected, but this spot gave us a great little hideaway with quick access to GSMNP for hiking. I almost don’t want to give this place a review so I can keep it all to myself but the views from the porch….20/10!!!! Absolutely breathtaking. I could spend full days just sitting out there watching the mountains. Jim was great and communicative, and we can’t wait to return!
