About this house rental
You and your whole family will enjoy this beautiful home on our secluded property just a four minute walk from the beach. Heated pool and hot tub make it a great place to visit year round. Community tennis and basketball court. No need to cross route 12 or any busy streets. Surrounded by trees, your beach home offers unparalleled privacy for you to lounge around the pool or hot tub and enjoy your vacation in peace. The pool is salt-water, which means it’s easier on the hair and skin. The pool can be also heated upon request (additional fee applies). Located in the exclusive community of Ocean Sands, Section D has private beach access which keeps the beach uncrowded and the soft sands pristine. Section D beach also has its own lifeguard on duty (in season only) for your safety. The beach house is big, bright and sunny, with plenty of activities for everyone (tennis, playground, games and more). Gas and charcoal grills as well. There is a tower sitting area where you can enjoy a cocktail while watching the sunset or reading a good book. The house has 5 bedrooms (3 master), 4 bathrooms, a second living room area with SmartTV/futon, a private in-ground pool and outdoor shower. Two large decks allow you kick back and enjoy the sun, while staying close to home, or watching over your kids on our playground. A community tennis court is also one block away. The backyard has a bbq, picnic tables, swing-set and slide, plus plenty of sand for the kids to play around. For the golf lovers, we are right across the street from the Currituck Club, which is open to play for the public. We are not a big rental company. This is a family run business and we treat you like family. We are quick to respond if any issues arise and value the people who share our home year after year. Before booking our stay we read previous guests’ reviews thoroughly. We booked this property based on the glowing reviews regarding the cleanliness of the home. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the smell of Clorox CleanUp, and I was very optimistic. However, we did have issue with a few areas. Mildew on the shower curtains, mildew on sliding doors and some window frames. One sliding door had a broken lock, and a stick was provided to brace the door. There was a tag stating the pool had been serviced the day prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, the weather was stormy during our stay and we did not get to use the pool. However, we could see sand in the bottom of the pool, and a black dirty ring around the waterline. All very simple fixes, not trip ruining items, just things that the cleaners and pool maintenance people should be paying better attention to. We also expected a more private location, since “secluded” was used in the property description. It is not secluded, in my opinion, it’s just as close to other homes as any other beach house. The only difference was a few trees/shrubs.

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and updated. Owners were available to answer any questions that arose. The only negative was the tight parking, otherwise everything was perfect! We would definitely stay here again!

The house was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The homes are very close together in this area and we didn’t realize that the walk to the beach would entail carrying the wagon of beach chairs and other items up a flight of stairs and back down. The pool area certainly needs some additional shade. The one working umbrella was small and torn. The traffic to the home was very congested at duck beach. This was our lack of knowledge and had nothing to do with the home itself. Eileen was easy to work with and continued to communicate with us. The linens that were provided was only one set per bed and we had married couples that would have preferred their own bath towel and washcloth. Appreciated the many beach towels that were provided. Overall, a wonderful, relaxing week.
