We had a wonderful time at this cabin. The neighbors were very nice, the kids swam and played volleyball, we rented jet skis from the resort. The nights were a little warm (daytime temps over 100), but with windows open and fans on, it cooled down eventually. The kitchen is small but well stocked, the beds were comfortable and the hosts were very responsive and easy to work with! We were very happy with our experience!

This cabin is truly an amazing find. Beautiful location. I felt like I was in a tree house. Very short walk to the water, which you can gaze at from the deck while you are bbq ing! Pretty wooded area with plenty of hiking spots for the dog! Well stocked, and a grocery/ harware store 1.5 miles away for anything you forgot. And comfy beds, which is huge! Catherine is thoughtful and responsive. I cant wait to go back!

My dad, husband and twin 1 year olds stayed at the cabin and had a wonderful time! The cabin has all the amenities you need for the weekend. The host was absolutely wonderful and answered all my questions. Hiking trails and lake access. Couldn’t ask for more! Thanks Catherine 😊

We did not want to rate this venue, but have been away from it long enough to finally give an honest review. Where to begin: we walked in to a rustic cabin that the owner was hurriedly cleaning herself, leaving us with the responsibility to dry all the rugs, towels and sheets, at the local laundromat, which was closed by 530pm when we got there. We ended up hanging the laundry on the filthy deck railing to dry. That was difficult in itself because it didn’t stop raining. Moreover, the cupboards and dishes were sticky because there was no dishwasher. To top that off, the hot water heater gave out, so for two days, we washed these already dirty dishes in cold water. Additionally, there was evidence of mice going through the walls and landing on the fireplace mantle. After we left, my husband told me he continued to clean up after mice, so I wouldn’t freak out. To end this horror trip, we were told we would have the privilege of kaiak usage while there. Nobody was there to issue the kiacks and if the family members showed up, we needed to scrub them down because “They hadn’t been used for years!” We should have asked for partial reimbursement, because we left two days before our commitment was up, but we let it go. We are now giving a review, because this place is a nightmare, we wouldn’t want anybody else to get suckered into.

We are two best friends from high school in 1976. We get together at least every 6 months. This was by far one for the story. Comfy cabin with all the conveniences of home. Catherine thank you for all your efforts to put this time for us together.😋 It was very cold in the cabin though, needs a little more heat.. Thank you so much for everything, especially the fire starters. They saved us.

This little cabin suited us perfectly for our 3 1/2 week stay with our 2 sons and 2 dogs. The cabin is tucked in the trees which helped us stay cool during the crazy heat wave that hit while we were there. Catherine and Kurt were very responsive and helpful whenever we had any questions or needs. The deck was great for morning coffee and we barbequed most of our dinners and ate out on the deck most evenings. The neighbors were all very friendly and so were the dogs! It's just a short walk down to the park and beach and you're close to Loon Lake town and Deer Park if you need any supplies. The cabin had pretty much everything you needed in the kitchen, lots of linens and even blow up beds, games, some sporting goods too. I think the only "nice to haves" I would add are a full length mirror somewhere (my younger son and I could never see ourselves as the mirrors were too tall for us -hahah), and a cover on the inside garbage pail (for nosy dogs like ours). Otherwise, we all loved it and it was a great home away from home and we will very likely be back! Thanks again to our wonderful hosts :). The Hartwig Family

This cozy cabin has everything you need to curl up with a book, take in natural beauty, reconnect with your family and get a good night’s sleep. My husband and daughters were thrilled to discover several geocaches nearby and I loved sitting on the deck with a book and a cup of tea. We’ll have to come back in summer to take advantage of swimming!

Gorgeous lake. Good old fashioned grandma grandpa style cabin. Clean and warm, bed was comfy! Pillows and sheets were great. Loved the back porch, I wish it wouldn't have been raining! I would've loved to see more birds! The check in was great as far as communication! Simple and easy. I will definitely be staying here again! I just love this little cabin full of loons!

A friend and I had to run in a hunt test in Chewelah and needed a place that would allow to have our dogs with us. We also wanted a place where they could air safely and not be around a lot of other animals. I found this cabin on VRBO and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! Our host Catherine was extremely helpful, attentive, and available, and even offered to refund us fully due to wildfires and smoke if we had to cancel at the last minute. The cabin is quaint and comfortable with a nice porch, a fully stocked kitchen, and parking enough for our two trucks. It was very clean as well and it's a short walk down to the lake. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this cabin if I have another dog event in Chewelah!

It is not modern but has the old charm that you find in the country living type magazines with fun knick-knacks and wall hangings to look at. It was clean and tidy and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The deck is lovely surrounded by trees and a peaceful place to just sit and relax or visit with family. Thank you

Easy access to the water, friendly neighbors, and a well stocked kitchen with every tool needed to make a great meal. The eclectic decor and being nestled in the woods was reminiscent childhood memories of the family cabin.

I was moving into the area from out of state and needed a place to stay while waiting for escrow to close. It was a cozy, comfortable place for the kids and I to spend that time. We had a few delays in closing on the new house and thankfully the owner was so sweet and assured me I could stay as long as I needed to until the next guest was arriving. She was just just a quick text away for any questions or concerns. It was quiet and peaceful although we didn’t get to utilize the lake because of the time year and cold, wet weather but we still enjoyed looking at it!

This cabin reminded me of childhood vacations. It was rustic, but had all the amenities you could ask for. It was quite large enough for the two of us, and two family members who came over for a couple of dinners. The kitchen had tons of pots, pans, utensils, and lots of herbs, spices, coffee, lots of the basics. The cabin was stocked with lots of extra towels, including beach towels. There was plenty of hot water for showers and dish-washing. The queen bed was really comfortable and we slept soundly. It was so quiet and peaceful (except for the crows with their wake-up calls in the morning! Ha!). I was a little concerned when we first arrived, because there are a lot of other houses and cabins fairly close by, but it was really quiet, the neighbors were friendly but not intrusive, and with all the trees, it felt very private. We didn't watch much TV (just a couple of sports events), but the TV worked just fine. The grill on the deck worked perfectly and we used it almost every day. Sitting on the deck and looking through the trees to the lake was so relaxing. It was a short (3-minute) walk across a grassy area to the sandy beach. The water was completely clear and lovely to swim in. Communication with the owner was quick and easy, although we only communicated with her at the beginning and end of our stay, because everything in between was great!

We wanted a place with easy access to Loon Lake and that is just what we got. It is a lovely little community of people who love having their lake experience. If you are looking for seclusion like On Golden Pond, this is not it, but the folks were all very friendly! The house was very cozy and our little dogs loved hanging out on the balcony/deck and people watching!

The cabin was really nice, but the people that were in the cabins near us were very loud and inconsistent. I wanted to go to relax but they were not going to hapen. I would come back if I was sure that they are not there and the place is not full of screaming teen agers and adults. It is a really nice and if someone was yo asked I would tell them about this place.

I loved the home-like comfort and feel of history with the cabin. The charming decor, obviously with love from the family really made me feel at home. The appliances worked great, the queen bed very comfy and the baseboard heaters worked very well on our chilly mornings. The short walk down to the lake shore was great, and there was a wonderful spot to sit on a glider with your coffee cup and look out over the lake bay. Thank you for letting us stay in this quiet spot for our family wedding held across the lake.

This was a great location for the 3 areas we needed to be for our son's wedding-rehearsal dinner, wedding venue, and wedding reception in the Loon Lake area. I decided at the last minute to book an extra night at the beginning of my stay and the owner gave it to me for "half price". THANKS! Best to look for it in DAYLIGHT--tucked away! But very private and great place!

The cabin tucked back up in the trees provided a comfortable bed, kitchen and living/dining space. Perfect for swimming with excellent dock and float to swim to. Lake bottom is excellent and the water clear. Nice view of mountains and good sun during the day (late August). Bring groceries or shop in Deer Park about 6 miles down 395. Loon Lake has limited items and no fresh meat.

I just so happened to come across this listing by accident, and am so glad that I found it. The cabin was perfect for a small family gathering during the day to celebrate my birthday, and then the two of us to stay overnight. There is a large patio that comfortably fit 5 adults and three children. The children enjoyed swimming in the lake, and playing croquet in the large yard. Ultimately, the best part of our stay was the communication from the owner. Texting response was almost immediate, and she was very friendly and understanding. Even the neighbors were friendly as they offered a parking spot in front of their place to one of our guests. The cabin was clean, and well stocked, the bed is very comfortable. and the cabin stayed very cool during the summer months as it is nestled in the trees. There is satellite tv; however, we only watched it at night, as we enjoyed the outdoors during the day. We will definitely be staying here again.

The cabin is a great place to kick back & enjoy nature. The amount of different types of birds that you see is incredible! It was too cold that week to enjoy the lake but had a great time walking & hiking around the area.
