Oceanfront Paradise with private lanai overlooking Kailua Bay

I would definitely stay in this unit again if visiting in other than June, July or August (Didn't have occasion to use the AC so don't know how cool the unit would be during those months. It could be fine, however). Great view of the Kahului Bay and the ocean from the balcony. Unit and grounds were well maintained. Didn’t use the pool but it looked very well maintained and seemed like a good place to relax and hang out Unit does not have central AC but the main living space and bedroom each rely on an air cooler. We didn’t need to use them because the fans in each room with the ocean breeze did a pretty good job of cooling the unit. One aspect that was really nice was that you could hear the ocean from the bedroom.Pretty good location. A nice coffee shop is located in the complex. However, it gets busy as morning wears on so get there before 8:00 to avoid a line. A Safeway was about a 10 minute drive. The main road, Ali’i Drive can get backed up due to a 3 way stop but, the cars usually move pretty quickly through. There is a small beach (Honi beach) about a 10 minute walk. People were swimming there, but I couldn’t tell if it would be good for young kids. There is also a liquor store about a 10 min walk in other direction. Shaka Tacoz (exceptional Tacos), is a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute drive.Balcony closet had a nice selection of fins, snorkels, cooler and other items.

Great location with a view. Pool was really nice and the kitchen was well stocked. Can't say enough about mornings or sunsets on the lanai.

We had a great stay at this condo in Hawaii. The unit was clean, welcoming and well equipped with everything we needed, including plenty of dishes, working appliances and convenient in unit laundry. Communication with the host was excellent and we appreciated the guidebook with local recommendations and helpful. Contacts parking was easy in the grounds and pool were lovely. The location made it easy to access the Kailua Kona area.The only drawback was the air-conditioning well listed. There is no central air-conditioning only portable units. The bedroom unit wasn’t well sealed, allowing warm air back in which made it difficult to cool the space at night. There was also some uncertainty about how much we could use the air-conditioning without incurring additional cost. Overall, a positive experience with the air conditioner seal being the main area for improvement.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love Kona and generally Sea Village 1203. I would like to say however that it needs some TLC by the owners. I would recommend that they come and spend a week in their unit and experience the kitchen and bedroom. It could be quite nice with some upkeep. The lanai has the ability to shade the intense afternoon sun but the shade has been broken for years rendering it useless. It's a shame really.
