Ware Haven Cottage is located on the Ware River in Gloucester County, VA. - a 20-minute run by boat to the Chesapeake Bay. Enjoy quiet seclusion in a peaceful setting with 270-degree water views, while being only moments from fine dining and shopping in the historic Gloucester Courthouse area. Spend time outside quietly observing the family of bald eagles and other birds like osprey, blue herons, and cranes who nest on the grounds. You may also witness a small pod of dolphins enjoying a playful swim down the river.
Located only minutes from the Virginia Historic Triangle - Yorktown, Jamestown, and Williamsburg, this charming, well-maintained cottage boasts beautiful craftsmanship on the inside and breathtaking views outside. The two-bedroom, one-bath home sleeps six. Fully furnished kitchen, two Smart TVs, kayaks, in-ground swimming pool, and lawn games. With over 200’ frontage on the Ware River waterfront, additional privacy provided by the inlet on the right, and beautiful wooded acreage behind, the Ware Haven Cottage offers peaceful privacy year-round. A boat dock is available for docking your boat or jet ski. The mean low tide at the end of the pier is 4 feet. Enjoy swimming, fishing, kayaking, boating, or just relaxing while the kids play basketball, yard games, or swing on the swingset! You may choose to relax in the 20x40’ inground pool during swim season (end of May through late September) with extensive pool decking, great for relaxing with a cold drink and an excellent book. The large screened-in front porch offers long river views any time of day. Enjoy the large fire pit when it gets cooler outside. It’s perfect for marshmallow roasting and making s'mores!

The place was super duper clean! Perfect place for our family of four and the kids loved having a pool to ourselves for the stay. Loved that the pool had a shallow end about three feet that the kids could walk around in, but a deep end deep enough that they could jump in! Gorgeous sunsets and we loved the screened porch for bug-free and sunburn-free play in the middle of the day.

Our family had a great stay here! The property grounds were beautiful and my teens loved the kayaks and dock for fishing. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. I wouldn’t recommend it for small children because it’s not really easy to baby proof but that’s easy to see from the pictures. I was just more focused on the outdoors to keep my older kids occupied. We did get to enjoy the pool on the days that were nice (it was a rainy week) which was beautiful and the swings were great for my littles. The instructions were clear, which I loved, so we could make sure we took care of everything to leave it as expected. We would definitely stay here again if we were traveling without toddlers!

This is an exceptional place. The location is just stunning, and it is nicely hidden 1/2 mile or so through some woods off of a rural road, but groceries etc are available about 10 mins away. Really good fishing off the pier. Location is reasonably close to a lot of interesting things to do (Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Yorktown, etc.), but also nice just to hang out at the cottage. Space was good for family of four. Exceptionally clean.

Such a perfect spot for a quiet, relaxing vacation! We have two boys and they LOVED all the activities available - fishing, kayaks, basketball, swings, pool, yard games, bonfire pit. Pretty sure us adults enjoyed it all too … owners were available to answer any questions we had, comfortable beds, the gorgeous views … I really can’t even nitpick on this place! Thanks again Steve and Cindy - we’ll definitely be back!!
