About this cottage rental
This Florida cottage is a converted shrimp house. The decor is tropical with tile floors and ceiling fans. This 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom (shower, no tub) air conditioned cottage is well -furnished and sleeps only 2.
The quaint cottage is on Cow Creek overlooking a small bay. Manatees, dolphins and many water fowl frequent the area. Enjoy your coffee from the waterfront seating area. Fishing is available from the attached floating dock. Mullet, jacks, snapper sheephead are in the creek. The creek is tidal and his spring feed, and that attracts the manatees. The manatees go by the cottage daily and it is a short paddle up to the springs where they hang out. If you bring your flats boat, Red fish, snook and trout fishing areas are both north and south. Grouper, grunts, hogfish and cobia are west. Coopers Bait Shop is next door. The Gulf Waters of Hudson are shallow and typically offer protection from high surf conditions, making it ideal for kayaking and canoeing.. There are many artificial and natural reefs for fishing and diving off Hudson . The creek is tidal and it is to shallow at low tide to get a boat out. The boat ramp is less than a mile away and is not constrained by the tide.
Users of kayaks or canoes are responsible for the safety of all those in his or her craft. Operation of the kayak or canoe is solely at the operator's own risk. Paddles and life jackets are provided.

From the start Chuck and Jarry were helpful and friendly. Chuck even called to make sure my husband had a way to watch the Superbowl! This little cottage was adorned with manatees! I love the critters and our first night we watched a few swim by. Then the dolphin sw by to say Hi. Great layout. Comfy bed. Nice floating dock to catch some sun and fish. The lanai was great in late afternoon as a shady respite from the sun. We watched all the local birds, ducks, you name it. The mullet jumped all over and we had a good laugh as they reminded us of the asian carp we have in Illinois. Fully equipped kitchen was awesome. This place was so good we are coming back in the future. Within an hour drive to Weeki Wachee..check out the Upper Deck Cafe near there..watch the manatees swim down the river. Tarpon springs is a quick drive and worth visiting.We didn't get a chance to kayak..maybe next time..thanks Chuck and Jarry for a great time!

Had everything we needed and more! Walking distance to restaurants, fishing, even touched manatees on our canoe float. Can’t wait to come back!

We fell in love with this little corky cottage on our 1st stay. Small home and air unitl worked fine in the Florida heat-bearable. The bed is not the most comfortable but we learn to bring our pillows, but this last time there was a loud window unit added in the bedroom and the wall unit in the livingroom was not working . It was a rough stay... we could not sleep in the room becuase of how the loud window unit was and the heat was unbearable in the living room. I was very sad with our mini weekend
vacation. I hope they get the air conditioning situation corrected. working
