Welcome to Sugar Bay on the Beach, a fully serviced, elegant five-bedroom beachfront villa set on its own private white sand beach.
The villa offers five bedrooms—four with sea views—each with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and complimentary amenities. Sugar Bay is located less than an hour from Montego Bay Airport, within a gated seaside community in Discovery Bay on Jamaica’s north coast.
Bright, island-style interiors with superior finishes and relaxed outdoor living spaces are complemented by the owners’ collection of original Caribbean artwork and ceramics. The villa is thoughtfully designed with island living in mind, and both the kitchen and all bathrooms have been recently renovated.
The light-filled sitting room features a sweeping staircase that curves gracefully to a minstrel’s gallery, while the three upstairs bedrooms each open onto their own private balcony overlooking the sea. There are two ground-floor bedrooms, one with a patio leading onto the pool, and the other with garden views.
A spacious verandah offers a breezy setting to relax and take in uninterrupted sea views, overlooking a soft, grassy lawn that gently slopes 30 feet to the 100-foot private beach. Days are best spent by the infinity-edge pool and Jacuzzi, enjoying panoramic views across Discovery Bay.
A seaside gazebo offers the perfect setting for morning coffee, afternoon massages, or stargazing at night.
For those seeking to stay active, the villa features a separate air-conditioned gym equipped with a 43" Samsung Smart TV, treadmill, elliptical machine, upright bike, adjustable bench, free weights, yoga mats, stability balls, and a kettlebell set. A floodlit tennis court—also suitable for pickleball—is located on the property, with racquets and balls provided.
During your stay at Sugar Bay, a dedicated in-house team—including a butler, cook, housekeeper, laundress, and gardener—will ensure a seamless and relaxing experience, attending to every detail with care.
Meals are freshly prepared by the villa’s cook and can be served on the verandah or in the elegant indoor dining room. A decked barbecue area beneath two almond trees offers an idyllic over-the-water setting for alfresco dining.
The staff can also arrange torchlit beach dinners, sunset cocktails served on the sand, and dining by the seaside grilling area.
Water sports are available just a few minutes drive from Sugar Bay. In lively Ocho Rios 25 minutes away are night life, excellent restaurants, shops, open-air craft markets, more water sports, Prospect Plantation Great House, rafting on the Martha Brae, jitney tours of a working plantation and dramatic Dunn's River Falls. Driving time from the Montego Bay airport to Sugar Bay is approximately 55 minutes. Our family of 5 (2 adults, kids ages 18, 16 and 14) had an amazing time at Sugar Bay. The villa was beautiful and the location was ideal. Amazing snorkeling out the front door, private beach, kayaks and paddleboards and we used the tennis/pickleball court every day. The staff (Conroy, Peaches, Cordella and Bigga) were absolutely amazing! They made us feel at home and took care of everything. Afternoon smoothies, breakfasts and dinners and the housekeeping were fantastic and the grounds maintained every day. We wish we could have stayed longer, 5 Stars!

The Villa is as good or better than the pictures. The staff is outstanding. Nicole's cooking was flavorful with many different dishes each meal. Conroy was always quick to make delicious libations or handle anything we needed. The rest of the team (Peaches, Charm and Bigga) all did their assignments almost without noticing them. We've done a number of family vacations in Europe and surprisingly they felt this was the best one we've been on.

It has been 10 years since we have returned to Jamaica. We have rented houses in many different places (in Jamaica, US and Europe) and Sugar Bay was the best place we stayed in. This property was beautiful with everything you would want: pickle ball and tennis court, fitness room, kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling gears etc. Plus you could snorkel right there. Being in a cove, the water was calm. The house was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated - more beautiful than the pictures in VRBO. The staffs, Nicole, Conway, Peaches, Bigger and Charm, were amazing. The owner Joan was very responsive and called us when we got there and when we left.
This could have been a perfect vacation except for COVID. Unfortunately, 4 members of our family could not make it due to COVID. I would highly recommend Sugar Bay.
