Herbies Hideaway, located in Sweet Valley, PA is a beautiful four bedroom home with full kitchen, bath and living room with central heat and air conditioning. It is situated on 22 very private wooded acres overlooking the Huntington Creek. It is ideal for family vacations. You will experience a peaceful and quite atmosphere, no noise, no crowds and no traffic. There is also hunting and fishing near by. We are Pet Friendly. This is a Smoke Free Facility. Our kitchen includes refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffeepot, toaster, cooking utensils, dishes, silverware. One bedroom is equipped with a queen bed the other three have double beds and all have a clock, closet or dresser. The only things you need to bring are your own linens, towels and food. Outside you will find a charcoal grill, fire pit, picnic table, swing set and deck. 2 pets per stay allowed with a $10.00 per pet per night fee. Rates are based on number of guests and amount of days staying. No internet available, cell phone service is not reliable and depends on your carrier. Ricketts Glen State Park is less than 5 miles away. COME AND ENJOY SUMMER IN NORTHEAST PA.
This is a two story above ground building. The living area is located on the second floor therefore you must climb a full flight of stairs to access it. There is a set of steps both on the interior and exterior. The lower area is storage only.

Very nice property along a quiet stream with lots of privacy. My friends and I very much enjoyed our stay over Labor day weekend. Clean spacious bedrooms with a large kitchen and living room.

Property was beautiful, house was clean but a little dated, dishwasher doesn’t work and there is no phone service or way to communicate from in the house. Otherwise we enjoyed the stay!

5 of us stayed at the house for a golf trip to Mill Race. The house is roomy and comfortable. The yard and fire pit were perfect for playing cornhole, and hanging out by the fire.

Herbies Hideaway is just that! A 70's style eclectic home hidden within a natural setting next to a babbling creek. The friendly owners, Marie & Rich, were there to greet us and explain the details of the property. There is a great fireside area for evening gatherings; one of our favorite times of the weekend. (additional cost for wood) The wonderful sounds and sites of nature surrounded us. The creek, patter of rain, Birds, chipmunks, deer, owls, crayfish, salamanders, fireflies, and butterflies. Ricketts Glenn State Park had several choices for hikes. It is a beautiful Glen!!! All things that my husband & I enjoy experiencing with our family.
There were 8 adults and 2 children under 3 1/2(FYI inquire about the info.." Rates are based on number of guests" before you coordinate with extended family). A difficult squeeze around the kitchen table(6 chairs fit around it) but room at the outside picnic table with using the little tykes table too. Bedrooms were a good size, but ALL of us agree with the reviewer from Oct 2020 that the mattresses are very uncomfortable. We also agree that the 2 garbage bag minimum with a $5.00 charge for additional bags used would have been good to know before our arrival. also, you need to take glass bottles home with you. The dishwasher was out of order. And you need to be careful using appliances at the same time. Marie did tell us that the water is by well yet drinkable but if we felt more comfortable to bring bottled water. No need. The water was pure & just fine. Plenty of hot water for showers. We were aware that there is no WIFI and cell service would be spotty. CORRECT! NO service until you drive to find some. Makes it difficult to communicate with family coming at different hours & times. We gave Herbies an average rating because of some of the reasons stated above. BUT The most important thing to know is that our family adjusted and had a great time.
