About this cabin rental
Our cabin is 20 years old. It was built by the original owner who was a carpenter and the owner of a mill. His attention to detail and craftsmanship are over the top. If you appreciate woodwork you’ll love our cabin. Fishing on the lake offers pike, walleye, perch and bass to name a few. A couple of years ago someone caught a 47” inch pike (at least this is what I’m told.)

We are returning guest! The host provides many thoughtful provisions. We really enjoyed the sauna and were hoping to be snowed in but the snow was removed from the lane in a very timely fashion. Sadly we were able to depart as scheduled. Highly recommend for a peaceful and tranquil get away.

Indoor cleanliness was ok, had to unclog the bathroom sink as it wouldn't drain. Shower door bottom had a fair amount of mold. Removed hair from the kitchen sink drain that was under the basket strainer. Cleaned the picture windows and sliding glass door that were dirty inside and out. Outside had to clean the deck and stairs down to the lake. Replaced half the string lights that were burned out. A few solar lights were out or missing on the stairs making a nightime walk a bit touchy. I really didn't think I would have to do so much work cleaning up even though we received a little off the cost for a last minute reservation. Ok, done complaining. The overall place and property is beautiful. Took a kayak out around the island that was enjoyable. First night saw the northern lights, that was great. Haven't seen them in over 50 years. Didn't try the sauna but it looks good down by the lake. Complete quiet at night, not even a sound from bugs. Very relaxing with food and things to do close by. Would definitely recommend.

Upon arrival and walking into the cabin, there was an instant mildew, wet smell There was dust and cobwebs throughout the entire place. The paint is coming off of the walls and it’s wet down in the basement causing the mildew smell throughout the cabin. Freezer was not cleaned out properly. Ice Mountain wasn’t able to use the freezer correctly. Upon arrival. There was a broken showerhead in the sauna area that we replaced out of the kindness of our own doings. Never even received a thank you for replacing something that we did not break. The bathroom window in the cabin does not have any privacy, especially at night time when the lights are on. You have a neighbors front porch in view of bathroom window no privacy. Nowhere does it state in the rental check-in checkout rules that there will be a stranger entering upon the premises You have to pay in full before you receive the check-in and check out rules, which does not give us an option to see these rules beforehand to let people determine if they want to stay at these rentals or not owning a cabin with a sauna and a fire pit for campfires and nowhere before hand does it state that you have to pay extra to use wood to be provided for these services after paying what you pay to stay a night there . I reached out to the owner let him know my concerns and the issues that we had with the place. He did not once apologize for the mildew issue which my child being highly allergic to mildew. She could not stay at the cabin .
