About this house rental
You can do the big city all day and then relax in the peace and quiet of the Paradise on the Bayou without the crowds. Sun yourself on the upper deck, hang out on the bottom patio with the water view, make drinks at the custom cypress bar, go boating, boil seafood, BBQ or what ever you want. All without crowds or people getting in your space... Perfect for visiting New Orleans and the French Quarter, just 25 minutes down I-10 and you are there! Then come back to the peaceful retreat of the serenity of the waterfront location. This little piece of paradise invites the whole family! A fully furnished 3 bedroom, 2.5-bath home located on the Rigolets between Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Borgne. Rustic hard wood floors with an eclectic mix of antiques and charming art, including beautiful wrought iron balcony fencing from historic New Orleans.
Paradise on the Bayou boasts vaulted ceilings, central air, comfortably overstuffed furniture, and lots of natural light. Property features stunning waterfront views from the upper and lower deck, both east and west, to soak in fun-fueled sunrises and romantic sunsets. Locally owned and operated, this light and airy camp is a perfect home away from home for family, friends, and couples. Dock your boat and/or jet skis for easy access to fishing and water sports. We have room for 2 - 24 ft boats. There is a fish cleaning table for your use. There is even a 14K Lumin fishing light for night fishing off the pier! A full service marina with live bait and launch just down the road complete this nautical ambiance for the avid or casual fisherman. Trout, Redfish, and Bass galore, with plenty of space to clean and a full size kitchen to cook your next masterpiece. Want a fishing charter? Capt. Kenny Kreeger is one of the best fishing guides in the area and lives right next door. Charter with him and get a few minutes of extra sleep before he puts you on the fish. Just step right on his boat from our dock and go catch them! Additional amenities include parking for up to 4 cars, a spacious party deck, full size dishwasher, cable TV, and indoor/outdoor bars/seating areas. All linens will be provided. Our family always goes on a trip every year and this is the place we picked this year. The house was great and town was beautiful

Wonderful location and host! Easy to get to everything we wanted to do: New Orleans, the beach, fishing. It was wonderful to be on the water! There were 8 of us, from 3 generations and the house was large enough for us to spread out and sleep!

We had a nice time overall. The house is clean and the location is excellent. We fished off the dock and even caught a mess of crabs. The adult kids even used the canoe.
The cons: Beware of the nice lady next door. She enters the home when you leave (or she thinks you are gone.) This was a BIG red flag for us as we caught her three times. I notified the owner and he did ask her not to do this, which caused a bit of tension between the yards.
The owner leaves his boat under the covered dock and an old jet ski is situated under the fish cleaning station. He also leaves the boat & jet ski trailers in the parking area so parking for "4" is not truly available.
I would give the location 5 stars, the house 4 stars, truth to the description 3 stars, and I just don't know what to say to the neighbor issue other than beware.
