My friends and I decided to go to the beach last minute and this place was on 25th street and we got a great deal on it for 3 days and 2 nights!
To start, there is parking in the front for free, but it’s usually taken up during the day, but at night, it’s a little more freed up. There are spots that do have signs for no parking, so just be aware. You can park in the back for $10 a night and there were plenty of spots! ALSO, there are no elevators, so if you’re like us and are on the 3rd floor, you might want to pack your bags a little lighter, since you’ll probably take more than one trip to bring everything inside.
The room itself was spacious, with a little kitchen that had a stovetop, medium sized fridge with a freezer, a sink (but our cold water did not work), microwave, and some cutlery/dishes. There were 3 double sized beds, 2 on one side and the other towards the ac and balcony. You could really feel the ac on the side with the single bed, but it was hard to feel it on the other side, but we lowered it to 68° ish and it helped circulate the cold air more. We saw some of the reviews about the beds and decided to bring our own sheets, pillows and blankets, which was fine because we tend to do that in most places anyway. The beds were a bit firm, but not terrible to sleep on. The room also had a large mirror and full length mirror which was nice. Our tv was on the side with the single bed, but it worked and had DirectTV, so we were able to watch whatever we wanted when we were in the room. The bedside tables also had lamps that let you plug your device straight into it, so that was convenient as well.
The floors were clean, apart from the wear and tear of previous occupants, and the walls could definitely use a fresh coat of paint, but that wasn’t a big issue. The noise was also not too big of an issue, with it being a bit louder during the day, and not so much at night. People seemed to spend a decent amount of time on their balconies, but the large window and door helps to block out most of the noise. The room comes with standard curtains for the windows, and on the side with 2 beds, it was fine, but on the side with the single bed, facing the front of the building, the light peaks through much more!
What we really didn’t love about this place was the bathroom. The shower curtain had several stains, especially because it was linen and did not have a plastic liner protecting it. The shower head did not have the greatest water pressure AND it kept leaking out into the bathroom, onto the toilet paper and the trash can! Plus with the liner being linen, it was almost impossible to keep the floor dry, and they did not give us a mat to put down, so we had to use one of their towels. You also had to continue to hold down the toilet handle until you heard the water get towards the bottle of the bowl, which was more of an annoyance than anything. There also wasn’t much room in the bathroom to move around or to put your things down or store. It was definitely more of a “get in and get out” type of bathroom, but keeping in mind that it’s a motel, we weren’t too disappointed.
Overall, it was a simple motel and room, but for the price, and how much time we spent in the room, it was exactly what we expected! For a last minute booking, we would probably book here again!
