Wooden Hotel Kazbegi

Room was ok. Clean, the view of mountains was great. Bathroom good size.

This was a perfectly quaint and spartan hotel in the heart of Kazbegi. The rooms are unfinished OSB / Plywood, which adds to the charm. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, and with abundant well-placed outlets. The courtyard has comfortable chairs and tables with a great view of Gergeti and Mount Kazbeg. No meals, no frills. Just a clean, quiet, thoughtfully laid out pet-friendly room. Will stay here again.

The lighting can be a bit on the dim side, but not that big of a deal. Water pressure could be better. Be prepared for street parking.

We arrived on a weekend in early October when the weather was unseasonably cold; however the heating had already been turned out and within an hour or two the room was very warm and comfortable, and remained so the rest of the rather cold weekend. Saturday was grey and cloudy and we could see very little. Sunday however we had clear skies, brilliant sunshine, and amazing views of Mount Kazbeg and the Gergeti Trinity Church that were unforgettable. Our wood-paneled room was very cozy, a great location to enjoy the stunning scenery of Kazbegi for a few days.

The hotel was reasonably comfortable, although basic. The location was a bit difficult to get to (up some steep hills of bad roads) and not near the center of town. There was no breakfast served and nothing within easy walking distance
