High On Helton - Long frontage on Helton Creek - One of the best state stocked trout streams in western NC. You'll love the peaceful, private wooded setting along the creek with firepit by the water. With this uniquely located cabin, you'll have many ways to enjoy the outdoors!
This 3 story, log cabin is on 10 lovely wooded acres. It offers numerous opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty of the area including the chance of seeing deer and wild turkeys. The cabin has a wrap-around deck encompassing the front which is covered and large side deck. Deck seating, patio set and gas grill. Lower patio offers hot tub to unwind with the sounds of the creek and stars at night!
High on Helton offers three levels of living space. The main floor is warm and inviting with an open kitchen/living/dining with cathedral, exposed beam ceilings. Kitchen features refrigerator with ice maker. Comfortable seating, perfect for curling up by the warm fireplace and watching the game or your favorite movie on the flatscreen-Satellite TV with stereo surround sound.
The main level bedroom has a queen bed and a 42" Smart TV for streaming an the full bath is accessed from the bedroom or hallway.
Upper level bedroom features a bunk bed with full on bottom and twin on top and crib.
The lower level offers large game room with slate pool table, seating and flat screen TV. 2nd full bath and 3rd bedroom with queen bedroom set.
The perfect getaway for family and friends, this cabin has everything you need for a relaxing mountain vacation; cool shade in the summer months, and spectacular colors in the fall!

Absolutely amazing spot! I actually like the fact that there was no cell phone service. Me and my husband was able to relax and have a nice little get away. The bed was comfortable. We love that we could just watch the deer play on the hill side from the kitchen window. The cabin was very clean and the hot tub and pole table was a huge plus! Think yall for letting us enjoy your amazing home.

The property is a nice home and seems well suited for a family of 5 (Living Room only accommodates 5 people). The home is adjacent to a babbling creek and a place to hang by the water. The kitchen is well used and could use a deep cleaning (discovered a bag of weed in the utensil drawer). Kitchen has adequate plates and pots, but no baking dishes. The single window air condition seemed to cool the main floor ok as long as the 2nd floor bedroom door was closed. The addition of a central HVAC system would be a plus to remove the moisture in the house, especially from the basement. New fresh smelling towel would be a plus.
This property is out of the way and is about 1 hour to Damascus or 1.5 hours to Boone, but very close to lots of fishing.
Though I was concerned with the inadequate HVAC for the August temperatures, we had a good time at the house and found the hot tub refreshing after activities. A few minor rental updates would make this place wonderful.
One note: There are cameras outside and inside the property.

We recently stayed at this property for “trout weekend.” The house is beautiful and located in a very quiet area.
