Our family of 4 (mom, dad, two teens 14-15) had a great stay at the "Birdsnest". The mountain views were great and a wonderful backdrop for breakfast, lunch or dinner and sitting in the hot tub.Everything went smoothly overall, no major complaints. Day 1, the fridge wasn't that cold, but after about 24hrs at the coldest setting, it had cooled down properly. The house was generally clean, however it felt as if the floors could have used a bit more attention in the living room, specifically the area rug in front of the couch.The furniture was comfortable, as were the beds. The kids shared the loft area, but did not use the pull out couch up there, instead sharing the queen bed. The king bed in the master was comfortable. Hot water was sufficient for 4 showers after a day of activities. We went hiking at Tsali trails and paddleboarded in Lake Fontana. We rented tubes and went tubing on Deep Creek. We also ziplined, rafted, and rented "duckies" a the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC). We had a great time as family without the distraction of WiFi (there is none) and extremely limited cell service (1 bar on AT&T - calls and texts could be made, but sending pictures or using data was very slow and spotty.)We spent about 4 of our evenings after dinner building the 999 piece puzzle - there is 1 piece missing!Note - the road/driveway up to the house is STEEP. If you're going there at a time that might see snow/ice, you need 4-wheel drive and maybe even chains.

We enjoyed our visit and this is a very nice house. Be sure to notice that both bathrooms are downstairs. The location was beautiful but we barely had any cell service there and the lack of Wi-Fi made that awful. If no Wi-Fi is an issue for you then you will enjoy this place.

My family and I spent a week at this caving. Although it did rain almost every day. We still got out to enjoy Bryson City and Cherokee. The cabin has everything needed and grocery store is only 17mins away. The one way rd up to the cabin does have some pull offs to let other by. The beds were comfy and the loft was a great view to wake up to. Start the coffee and sit on the deck and watch the clouds go by. No wifi and that’s was nice.

The place is awesome and is away from the heavy traffic but not far from everything. We slept comfortably and the cabin is amazing, I would like to buy it actually ha. The view is fantastic as well from the porch. My kids loved it and enjoyed being that close to the public access to the lake. Rather than drive into the tourist cities that are close to the cabin including a nice scenic drive to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge they said they had the best time at the lake. All around a good time and great place.

Reviewer Comments: The cabin was in a quiet area, not far from town, and offered beautiful views. The house was nice enough. But our biggest issue was the rental company. We thought we could get away from everyone for a few days, but other than the first day we were there, we had something happen. One day the cleaning lady inadvertently came early, then the trash guy, then the rental place was calling us asking when we planned to leave. It was almost as if they had a booking right after our stay and needed to quadruple check we would leave on time. It was annoying and made us uncomfortable. The house was fine, but the experience from everything will probably keep us from renting from them again.

We LOVED this property. It is perfectly secluded yet not too far from sights/attractions/stores. The view was amazing. We spent a whole afternoon on the porch taking it all in. We used the fire pit to warm ourselves while we star gazed then treated ourselves to music and time in the jacuzzi. My boyfriend cooked our meals each night and we were so happy with the amount/variety of cookware. This was our weekend getaway to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and we could not have chosen a more beautiful home than this one. What an awesome hideaway in the mountains. We spent 3 nights in late December and the weather was perfect. I’ve done 20 VRBO’s in the last 3 or 4 years this is by far the best bargain and ranks right up there with much more expensive Oceanside places we have rented. Gatlinburg is a must what a crazy town. Bottom line is it was awesome!!

Highly recommend this rental! The view is incredible! The house is so cute and perfect! We loved the hot tub, it is a smaller hot tub but was just perfect for the two of us! Was also great to have a fully stocked kitchen as we cooked in. Very easy to get to, you are only 15 minutes to Bryson City and right next to lake Fontana! My only down side would be no WiFi and the service is very spotty so was hard for us to FaceTime family on Christmas. Other than that we enjoyed our stay so much and can’t wait to go back!

The property was in need of TLC. Living room furniture was very warn and broken down. Shortened our trip for this reason. T.V. Channels were limited. Hot tub was not working and it was a very small 2 man tub. Management company did send someone to get it running. Trip button was very hard to push. Patio chair was broken and not safe. It appears now the prior renter commented they had fallen off chair and owner failed to remove from deck. No bathroom rugs and floor is very slippery. Narrow steep road after going through gate. Not well marked. Upstairs bedroom has no closet and the second bath is downstairs. The railing going upstairs is loose and needs to be secured. Very disappointed.

Sitting in a high chair at the high table on the deck. Chair leg went through the wood and threw me to the deck. Yeah it hurt and I had scraps and bruses the next day. The pull out couch in the loft was very uncomfortable the boys said. It would be nice to have dark curtains in the master. There is a security lighting the back she's and it would keep going off all night. The rental was amazing otherwise. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet away from it all. Thankfully it was pet friendly. The trash issu is another thing that would maybe make us not return. Why is there a trash can if you have two take the trash to the dump yourself? So, we have to take smelly trash, if you cook while there in the car to the trash place. Just nasty if you ask me

Clean inside, master bed was comfortable, many amenities, extra lights outside for security, motorcycle friendly BUT the short road to the cabin from the asphalt is gravel. Parking can be tight if you trailer your motorcycle. Both large windows in living room are very dirty, needs to be cleaned so you can view mountains from the top bedroom. Master shower floor is slippery when wet. Coffee pot was very stained with coffee, I had to thoroughly clean it out. Sofa in living room needs to be replaced - no support. Master bathroom toilet water runs after flush. NO instructions for what to do with the used towels. Wash them or put in washer ? Outside deck could use a painting.

This rental was exactly what we were expecting. We loved that the property was on a hill top, with views from the large deck and cozy hot tub. The house was spacious and had an ample stock of kitchenware (except for wine glasses). The furniture and decor needs updating but the other attributes of the property more than made up for this. Overall, staying here was a great value and a wonderful experience!

It was so wonderful and relaxing! Views are amazing and better than the pictures. The place was a lot bigger than expected and the privacy was exactly what we were looking for. Bonus: there’s beautiful rock wall on the side of the house that had water trickling down it while we were there. Great surprise.
