Perfect small retreat

Perfect small retreat

Tastefully decorated and well equipped small gite. It is ideal for two adults, although would be a little cramped for four. The garden is large and has areas of sunshine and shade all day so it was perfect during the heat of the day. The availability of two bikes made trips to the local boulangerie first thing in the morning very easy. A particular bonus for us was a garden fence which was genuinely completely secure so that our very determined little fox terrier could find no escape route.

The property has all the charm you would expect from a rural gite but it is very modern and well equipped. The interior has been very well thought out to maximise the use of space and comfort for guests. The shower and bathroom were excellent. The outside space and wonderful views afforded in this lovely location really added to our enjoyment of staying in this area. The local village and shops are within easy walking distance. It was a great base to explore this beautiful area of France. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, providing us with a pot of delicious fresh local honey from their own bees. We chose Pontleroy at random to visit the Loire for the first time . The house was very well equipped and renovated to a high standard . Extremely clean and comfortable - good central location to explore - we visited Blois , Chambord , Chenonceaux and Montresor . The owner kindly met us at the property and we managed easily with a little English and French conversation. The cottage is about 15 min walk to the village centre with shop and restaurant and bakers . We visited Jose Marteau vineyards at Thessay to taste wine and were made very welcome there.

Perfect quiet country location for visiting castles, gardens and towns in the area. The cottage was exceptionally clean and we'll appointed for tenants. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. Loved our stay and would definitely return again.

Lovely base to explore from

Lovely little cottage, newly renovated with style and great facilities and immaculately clean. We were met by our host at an agreed time and we had no trouble finding it with the help of our GPS. Though we spoke no French we were all able to make ourselves understood (with some help from Google translate). It was wonderful to be surrounded by French countryside. There are two bikes that can be used to ride around which was very quaint. Sitting in the garden was very relaxing. Pontlevoy is a nice little rural village and just 2 minute drive from the cottage. It is about 20 minutes to drive to Cheverney and 20 minutes to Chenonceau Chateau so this is a good mid point location. Beauval Zoo, also nearby is amazing and a nice change for the kids who quickly grew weary of Chateau's.

Nous y avons séjourné le temps d'un week-end prolongé et avons beaucoup apprécié la maisonnette, son équipement (même si en octobre nous n'avons pu profiter des extérieurs), son calme en pleine campagne à la sortie de Pontlevoy, et la disponibilité de Céline, la propriétaire.

le gîte est petit mais bien adapté à l'accueil de 5 adultes : 2 chambres séparées à l'étage +couchage dans le salon rez de chaussée il est bien équipé ,l'accueil des propriétaires a été chaleureux et efficace le gite est isolé dans la campagne et convient aux personnes qui souhaitent se reposer et visiter les nombreux sites touristiques aux alentours (chateaux ,zoo de Beauval…)

Petite maison très bien équipée, refaite à neuf, idéale pour un séjour en famille (nous étions 4). Beaucoup de choses à faire dans les alentours (châteaux, caves champignonnières des Roches à Bourré, achat de fromage dans la commune, etc.). Accueil très sympathique, draps et serviettes fournis. Maison en pleine nature, jardin clos très agréable pour les enfants.
