Daniel and Sylvia's home is a little gem in a wonderful village. It is ideally located and is absolutely charming.

We are two retired ladies who loved our visit to "The Cave" and the Cote d'Azur. Spending a few days in St. Jeannet was a fun way to experience life in a small mountain village. During the day we visited Antibes, Nice, Eze, Villefranche and Monaco. It was wonderful to return in the evening to this peaceful village with beautiful views.

We were finishing up a 2 week trip in France and we came across this vrbo listing which brought us to St Jeannet for a couple nights…and we’re so glad it did. One bus ride from Nice and we were looking at the most magnificent view. We loved our stay in this charming cave that met all of our needs. Communication was also very quick. Thank you!

This cozy, nicely equipped apartment has wonderful views over the Mediterranean. The town of Saint-Jeannet was a delight (although the uphill drive was exciting). Daniel and Sylvia were helpful and responsive hosts.

I have enjoyed so much staying in Daniel and Sylvia's apartment that I extended my reservation for another month. Whether you want to visit for a few days or several months, this place is a gem. The beauty of the location is exceptional, this village a joy every day and the comfort and safety of the accommodation is great. It is cozy, well-equipped and charming. With the family living elsewhere for most of the time, the noise from upstairs is infrequent. Living in this village is really a privilege and staying at this apartment is a great way to experience its multiple pleasures.

Charming place I highly recommend
Charming place I highly recommend
This place is a little gem in a gorgeous old French village that has everything you need for a rejuvenating vacation or a longer term stay. Sylvia is a fantastic artist with great taste that makes this apartment quaint. She and Daniel are excellent hosts - very responsive and super friendly making sure you will have what you need. The village itself is extraordinary - constructed centuries ago on a mountainside with narrow stone streets (there are parking lots where it is best to leave your car, particularly as you don't need it here), little shops to buy fresh food you can cook in the included kitchen and an excellent restaurant (La Table des Baoas). Saint Jeannet is a very special place to visit with fantastic days trips in every direction. And this apartment with its charm and phenomenal views is a great base for one person or a couple to enjoy it optimally.
The one and only potential downside is that if you visit during the summer months when there are tourists and more foot traffic, there is some noise as the windows are on a little square where people sometimes congregate and often pass.

We really don't even know where to start with our stay in beautiful stunning "Gods work of art" Saint-Jeanette, France!!! We have to say 1st and foremost that Daniel and Sylvia were 2 of the nicest people we have ever met in our lives..along with Sylvia's beautiful mother. "The Cave" as they call it is adorable and has everything you could need for a wonderful trip in the awesome hills above Nice .. which by the way is on the Mediterranean Sea BUT you can see from your windows in "The Cave" .. how awesome is that?? We could go on and on AND ON about our trip to Saint-Jeanett France to "The Cave" from Arizona USA FOR 2 MONTHS ..yes lucky us 2 months😎 .. but I'm going to stop and just say it will be a trip of your lifetime to get to stay here and get to enjoy this lifestyle and have Daniel and Sylvia as your hosts .. you will never find better!! We will be back!! We highly recommend for numerous reasons! .. be safe & stay well with the Corona19 virus in the world at the time I am writing this .. it is pretty bad, we got home to USA in the nick of time .. God bless you all ..THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR AWESOME PLACE AND VRBO you get 10 👍's up ♥️ ♥️

Rustic hideaway in beautiful village.
My husband and I chose this location because it was close to Nice and St. Paul de Vence. One of southern France’s villages perchés, St. Jeannet was charming and the accommodations were quaint. Our first drive up the narrow and winding roads to the village was a little intimidating, but Daniel came and got us in the village to show us the best way to navigate the area. The view from the apartment, which is a converted wine cellar, was majestic. If you are looking for a tranquil, magical place away from mobs of tourists, this is it.

This little gem was a real highlight of a great 3 week visit to Provence and the Ligurian coast! The local flavor, perfect location and breathtaking views were as good as it gets! Daniel and Sylvia have created a wonderful and inviting retreat in a classic French village. The local bakery is great for morning and lunch foods and there is a great restaurant with terrific views in village center. Daniel had some great recommendations for daytrips. We could have spent much more than three days here, but what a way to end the trip of a lifetime!

Unique rental in beautiful hill town
Unique rental in beautiful hill town
We enjoyed our stay in Saint Jeannet which is a charming medieval town. The view form the kitchen window all the way down to the Mediterranean was memorable. The house is unique in that it was once a wine cellar for the bigger house and you see evidence of the bedrock within the house. It is well equipped. It made a great home base to visit many of the adjacent hill towns. We also took day trips to Nice, the Picasso museum in the Antibbes, to Eze and spent one night in Avignon. The weather in April was cool and pleasant and we had sunny days with a few rainy nights. Saint Jeannet has a little grocery story, a couple of bakeries, a butcher, and a bar/restaurant with a stunning view. Saint Jeannet has a dramatic location with the craggy Baou towering over the town. For those unfamiliar with small hill towns, please rent the smallest car you can, as driving within the narrow streets of the old town is a challenge. Park in the public lots at the edge of town. There is parking near the house, but while we were there construction work on the access road made it not easy to use.

Charming appartment
Charming appartment
We stayed a week in this quirky and tastefully furnished apartment in the beautiful village of St Jeannet. The view is spectacular from the apartment looking out over the valley towards Antibes. The property used to be an old cellar (cave) and Daniel and Sylvia have kept some of the original features giving it a sense of history. We had everything we wanted and Daniel welcomed us on our first night there. It is ideally located for walking in the hills but also for driving to the many beautiful hilltop villages in the area and of course not far from Nice and Antibes.

Lovely apartment and wonderful location
My boyfriend and I stayed for two weeks here and absolutely loved it. The property is in the mountains in a lovely village called Saint-Jeannet. The views from the property are wonderful and you can see Nice and Antibes in the distance. The location is perfect with so many nearby towns and villages to visit. Of course the beach is also a must in addition to walking in the nearby mountains, with breathtaking views. The apartment is very pretty and cosy and had everything you may need. The owners are extremely nice and welcoming. We only came across this property and location by chance on this website and we are so glad we did!!!

A little piece of heaven
A little piece of heaven
It is difficult to put into words a description of this home and the village. Words such as amazing, peaceful, cozy, panoramic views, friendly, caring, hospitality plus, delightful cuisine, come to mind. The apartment or "Cave," as its called, is homey and the interior design makes the visitor feel at home and welcomed. Everything we needed was right there! The owners are terrific people and welcomed us into their garden which is behind the "Cave." Sylvia is truly a great gardener and interior designer. Daniel is always smiling and interested in so many subjects.
The apartment is clean, well appointed and comfortable. The previous reviews describe accurately the apartment and the owners. We liked sitting in the kitchen with the window open enjoying the view and the breeze. We loved sitting on the small terrace enjoying a morning cup of coffee, a glass of wine, a light meal and the fabulous view. The people in town were wonderful, always greeting us with a bon jour or when we were eating on the terrace with a bon appetit!. The hiking trail to the top of the baou is interesting and there was a slackline festival going on, watching the participants walking the highlines was fun.
Within walking distance (3 minutes) the old village of Saint Jeannet has a boulangerie (where you can also buy the local wine), a small boucherie/traiteur where we purchased a couple of light meals, a few restaurants and an ATM. A short drive down the hill there are two more boulangeries and a U-Express grocery store and another Intermarche grocery store a short drive down to La Gaude. (Jim's Iphone slipped out his pocket in the UExpress and when we called it from Nancy's the manager answered, it had been turned in. )
We highly recommend le Cave!

An authentic taste of French living
An authentic taste of French living
If you want to experience the slow-paced French rural life in the foothills of the Alps, far from the madding crowds; there is no better place this little 'Cave'.
Beautifully converted into a little 1 bedroom house from an old wine celler hewn from the rock upon which the main house was built, this little house has everything you need for a short or extended stay.
The location is perfect: On the corner of a picturesque narrow cobbled street and a delightful little church courtyard, with spectacular views over the valley below and the sea beyond.
We found the house very clean and well maintained and had all the essentials, and the owners were delightful - They were particularly welcoming, attentive to our needs, and always on hand to offer advice.
My favourite aspects of the house were the adorable little cottage kitchen, and the very comfotable double bed which sits aptly on a plinth hewn from the rock.
All in all, We can highly recommend this perfect French rural retreat.

Beautiful, cosy, with incredible views
Beautiful, cosy, with incredible views
A beautifully renovated wine cellar on the bottom level of a family home.
From the moment we arrived, Daniel and his family made us feel incredibly welcome. On our first night we were invited to the village square where the locals were celebrating Bastille Day — there was food, drinks (including the local Saint-Jeannet wines), a band and lots of dancing. We instantly felt like we were away from it all.
The apartment is completely private to the main home, we always had our privacy, yet we were thrilled to be invited to dinner and aperitif's with the family on two occasions throughout our 2 week stay, which will always stick with us as some of our favourite memories of our holiday.
The village is just idillic, and the views from the bedroom and kitchen windows are incredible — over the mountains and out to to Antibes with the sea in the distance.
We could reach Saint-Jeannet by car in around 20-25 minutes from Nice airport (once we got used to which route to take). The roads are typical for the terrain, winding back on themselves and quite narrow in places, but are a joy to drive and in good condition.
We drove to so many places within easy reach — Saint-Paul de Vence, Èze, Gourdon and the lovely drive along the nearby Route des Gorges, Antibes, Menton, Ventimiglia (Italy), Nice, Vence (the nearest larger town)… we could go on but these were our favourites!
Daniel and his family were great at recommending places to go and pointing them out on the map. They recommended we go to the restaurant 'La Brouette' which is an absolute must. It's truly stunning, sitting in a garden on the side of a mountain, overlooking the picturesque walled town of Saint-Paul de Vence. Our only warning when you go: be careful of the steep driveway down to the tiny carpark — we'd actually recommend parking up at the top (on the side of the main road) and walking down! Our little car struggled to get back up :)
We loved this place so much — we will definitely be going back, and recommend it to everyone we know.

Me and my husband were here for three days with our daughter (3 years old) and we had a lovely time in the cosy, little house and town. Maybe not the most child friendly (small children - but we knew that) and still our daughter had a very good time and played around in front of the house. Next time we will probably go by car :) thank you a lot David and Sylvia for your kind communication and making us feel very welcome.

A découvrir donc.

We are for the first time in Saint Jeannet and we really love it here. It`s more beautiful than we expected it would be! The cave is cute and designed with so mutch lovely details. We allways had the windows open to enjoy the beautiful view. Every day we had breakfast on the small terrace in front of the cave and all the people who came by wished us a "Bonjour" or a "Bon appetite". We made some day trips to Vence an Saint Paul, also very lovely villages. Daniel and Sylvia are very wonderful and accommodating hosts. We will definetly come back!!!
