About this villa rental
Set in the beautiful, historic, UNESCO protected mountain range of Sintra, Quinta Sao Bento and Matalva are two adjoining private villas located in a secluded valley with pine forest backdrops and views of the coast down the Serra. The Quintas are accessed down an off-road track that leads to only 4 Quintas ensuring seclusion and calm.
The two properties can accommodate 20 people altogether - perfect for family reunions! Quinta Sao Bento has five bedrooms, sleeping 10 people and Quinta Matalva has three bedrooms in the main house and a further two in a cottage.
Please note that Sintra is in the hills, and the roads can be windy and narrow. We do recommend that guests have use of a rental car.

You have to understand that this is a restoration of a very old home and a lot of its charm is in its originality. That being said, the property was lovely and the grounds were beautiful this time of year. The difficulty is in its location, far off the beaten track on a small dirt road, difficult to find. While there are detailed instructions on how to get there, they are still confusing. Apple Maps did the best job getting us there. It was spot on when you enter the name of the property. While it was suggested to use Google Maps (or Waze), anyone in our group who used Google got lost.That being said, we were greeted with a large basket of fresh fruit and a bottle of wine, a nice touch. There are ample supplies of the necessities like dishwasher detergent, soaps, and toilet paper. There was also an abundance of kitchen supplies and tableware. It included basic seasonings and there was even butter and milk in the refrigerator. The hosts were supper responsive and the on property staff helpful and friendly, even with our language barriers.For our family of 13, this was a great property to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and we are very appreciative to Jonathan, Sabrina and Ana.

Beyond words! The property is simply spectacular! The views from Sao Bento are unbelievable. The property is magnificent. We were in town for a wedding and needed a place large enough to accommodate 10 people. Both villas comfortably sleeps 20 people.

Such a nice place and friendly staff. They did a great job of keeping the place clean and preserving the history without it feeling old. Definitely would go back!
