Very nice house, beautiful scenery. The owners wre very sympathetic.

We enjoyed our holiday. The calm, the silence, the beautiful view and the cows as neighbors. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and everything was neat and clean. The cottage is decorated with taste and detail. The surroundings are beautiful, we made many beautiful trips. We only found it a bit cold in the evenings with only a wood stove (September). Furthermore, the house is highly recommended. A place to go back.

A quiet, tasteful retreat in the Burgundy countryside, far from traffic and commotion. La Grande Verrière is a delightful 2-3km walk from the rental, past fields and forest along dirt roads and lovely trails. There you will find a friendly little restaurant (Chez Cecile) and country store which surprisingly has everything you might need for a one or two week stay; meats, fresh cheeses, vegetables and fresh bread every morning. They even made gluten-free bread nearby, for my wife by order for Sunday, they day after we arrived. Charolais cows greeted us each morning with their mooing, just bordering our yard and the views from the yard and house are really stunning and expansive. We hiked a few of the GR trails to adjacent towns like St-Léger-sous-Beuvray and even though it rained a lot (mid- Sept) we were able to enjoy the outdoors without much discomfort. The house itself (la bergerie) does look like a converted sheep barn, but the inside is very tastefully laid out and decorated. There are plenty of pots and pans, dishes and silverware and also a washing machine (not listed in the description) which spins to 1400rpm. The proprietors (Pierre and Michèle) were very kind to us and provided us with useful advice and everything we needed to enjoy our time there - they also gave us a drying rack as we couldn't use the outdoor line while we were there. We cooked several of our meals inside and the induction cooktop was fast and very convenient (I had not used one previously), and we had no trouble at all operating comfortably in the kitchen. Tall ceilings with interesting drapes and window treatments, and the tall windows produce very nice lighting inside the house. Very clean air inside and out and the bed was large and comfortable - we slept well there, perhaps too well as we didn't get up as early as planned to complete all of our planned activities. This was a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. We would really like to return again in a couple of years. Many nice activities in the area like Mont Beuvray (Bibracte), Autun, Beaune, Vézelay, but the local walks and towns that are less visited and quiet are a treat to see in a relaxed manner. We stayed one week, but two would have been ideal.

Un des plus beaux si pas le plus beau gîte que nous ayons eu le plaisir de découvrir ! Tout est conçu pour que la vie soit agréable et paisible. Pierre et Michèle sont des hôtes chaleureux qui mettent tout en oeuvre pour que l'on se sente au mieux ! Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour diversifié en activités (balades, randonnées, vélo, nage dans les étangs, visites...) conseillées par Pierre. Nous n'hésiterons pas à y retourner.

Le Saussey est un endroit parfait pour explorer le Morvan. Il-y-a beaucoup de randonnés qui commencent directement à la maison. (Mont Beuvray) On peut facilement acheter au Leclerc à Autun ou au epicerie chez Cecile à La Grande Verrière. La cuisine est parfait pour faire beaucoup des specialités bourgignons (tarte à l'epoisse et aux pommes!). La vue de la terrasse est vraiment magnifique. Un "loft" posé dans les pâturages, ou l'on se sent si bien. Des hôtes très accueillants et disponibles rendant le séjour encore plus agréable.

Belle location confortable, joliment décorée et bien équipée, dans une campagne remarquable. Nos hôtes nous ont réservé un accueil chaleureux.

Très belle maison, parfaite pour un couple. Poile au bois qui chauffe agréablement la pièce, joliment aménagé. Très propre et clair. Emplacement superbe dans un village très accueillant qui dispose d'une épicerie très pratique et bien achalandée ! Magnifiques balades alentours. Nos hôtes sont très chaleureux, généreux, discrets et de bons conseils sur la région. Merci a
