The Unique Beachfront Lighthouse

Location to the beach and surrounding restaurants and bars. The grounds, the restaurant on property, the bed and room location. The restaurant stayed open just to serve us on our first night arriving. Harry, the island dog. Beach and grounds not crowded at all. Allowed us to get ice from kitchen area to fill cooler.

The shower in our room is a definite challenge to have consistent water temperature. Either too cold or too hot. Never able to take a comfortable shower the entire time we were there. The shower faucet valves need replacing. Not the resort’s fault, but the consistent “engine braking” by large dump trucks on the road next to the resort was unbelievably loud and annoying. All day long everyday. The staff at the restaurant was extremely polite and friendly, however, they need help. Service with more than a couple of customers, became extremely slow.

I liked the fact that it was right on the beach

The directions to the property are terrible. The property name “ the lighthouse” is not know to taxi drivers. when I tried to get call while we were in the cab driving past the property there was no answer. Luckily I remembered reading about the beach club and asked the driver to take us there. I would also like to report that on the way back to St Kitts, the care taker at the place helped us get a taxi on the mainland when we arrived with the water taxi. All was well expect when the driver dropped us at the airport he opened his trunk and had a little monkey in a tiny cage in the trunk. I was horrified that the little monkey was being held captive in the hot trunk of the vehicle. I would ask the owners of the property to work with people who value animal rights.

The location and view cannot be beat. It is the perfect way to wake up every morning. Small, quaint and just perfect for a two people. The windows give a panoramic unobstructed view of a beautiful beach and bay. Free parking right outside, and secluded from any other activity or people. It is also away from the hustle and bustle of town which is nice.

The only thing I would improve is the bath towels. While they seemed to be normal for a European standard, but by American standards they were a little thin and could have been thicker. I realize this is just a regional preference however so it may or may not be a dislike to some. Overall a great place.
