Thank you for a wonderful week in this beautiful property and area. The house was as described and very clean, well-equipped and so quiet, the only traffic allowed along the property road is for residents, so it was just peace and tranquility. The view from the house is stunning, the river beach can be accessed via a walk down a path in 5 minutes and although you can't swim in the river, we enjoyed paddling and splashing about to cool down. The local restaurant looks like something from a French impressionist painting, it's such a lovely setting next to the canal and river, with lights festooning the trees and tables and chairs lining the cobbles. You can walk along the canal paths and cross the flowery bridges along the route. We enjoyed exploring Orleans, it's a fabulous city, we loved the son et lumiere show on the Cathedral and discovering all about Joan of Arc. We had a great lunch there, hired bikes for 2 days so that we could cycle around Combleux and out into the countryside along the canal, but also to cycle to and from Orleans itself, which only took about half an hour along a beautiful riverside path. We also hired canoes and enjoyed the river that way too. We had one day out in Paris, which was only an hour by train. We had the best of both worlds, access to some city buzz, although a lovely chilled-out buzz in Orleans, everyone was so calm and relaxed! But also this beautifully quiet house and water-side tranquility too. Highly recommended. x

We had a fabulous stay here. The house is clean and tidy, and is equipped with everything you need. The location is just incredible - the view out the front to the Loire is stunning and the house in in easy reach of Orléans. We hired bikes and didn't actually use our car the whole time we were there - wonderful!

Communication with the owner was fast, friendly and uncomplicated. Our first impressions were that the house is even better than the pictures. It is set in an idyllic garden, with the main focus on the river, which is less than a stone’s throw away. We had the pleasure to stay here for two weeks, the house was clean (very clean) and well equipped. There is plenty to do in the neighbourhood and we thoroughly enjoyed our outings to Chateaux and towns in the area. There is a nearby restaurant that, although a little expensive, serves fantastic food. There is also a beer garden (Guingette), which has cheese / meat platters and other snacks, as well as good wine and tasty beer. One of the best experiences we have had with holiday rentals. Thank you Vincent, for everything.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The house is well stocked, especially the kitchen. Excellent parking and a very safe, gated property. Vincent was a wonderful host. Always available to answer questions and provide information. Veronique LALY was very efficient with the check-in and check-out process. We would definitely return!

We stayed here with our dog and had wonderful walks and cycle rides along the path beside the Loire. We ocassionally used our car to travel further but generally reached everything on foot or by bike. The local restaurant was wonderful and we ate there three times in two weeks. And the host was extremely helpful with providing details of local amenities and services. Apart from the weather we had a wondeful time.

The house was perfect for our stay and well appointed with everything we needee. The kitchen despite being on the smaller side had literally everything we needed to create not just a meal but a feast! The main room downstairs is sizable and comfortable and the outside balcony ideal for mealtimes. There is however a surprise, when opening the shutters of the main bedroom you have the most beautiful view of the Loire! The views from the back look onto the canal and are good as well! We had a fantastic stay, with everything we needed, Vincent was so helpful with his communications and Veronique likewise when we arrived. In summary we had a fabulous time in what seemed to be a well loved family home. Thank you Vincent!

A fantastic holiday let - a wonderful location on the banks of the Loire and a beautiful house and grounds. Cycling possibilities right outside the house, and lots of daytrip options nearby. We couldn’t fault it - the only tiny thing was a get-in for our kayaks, this wasn’t possible outside the house so meant we had to carry our two kayaks 400 metres or so to the (beautiful) riverside beach. Nonetheless, a super place and somewhere we can well imagine returning to!

We really loved this villa on the banks of the Loire river. The house was very nicely laid out and very clean. It was lovely to be able to eat out on the veranda looking at the Loire river close by. The village of Combleux is lovely, with a really nice up-market restaurant with lovely food. The only small negative factor was that there were no shops in the village. We would like to have been able to visit a bakery without having to drive. Apart from that it was wonderful and very restful. Five stars from the whole family!

Villa Chanterive is wonderful - the photos don’t do it justice. Wonderfully tranquil - no traffic, and right by the Loire. The house is well equipped and spacious, though we spent most of our time on the terrace gazing at the view. Great holiday with children: We walked to Orleans, visited a couple of Chateaux, went kayaking on the river, and had a fine meal at the local restaurant. If (when!) we return we will bring our bikes as there are great cycling paths and an incredible bakery 3km away, the finest we’ve been to in France. Loads to do, but it’s actually hard to tear yourself away from the lovely house. Communication with Vincent the owner was prompt and excellent throughout.

What a wonderful house in the most idyllic location. The communication with Vincent the owner was superb and we were let in and shown around by the lovely Madame Veronique. We literally cannot fault the house in any way! Absolutely heaven on earth. So peaceful and yet not isolated. We LOVED wandering down to La Marine for a drink or a meal.....highly recommend. Orléans is a beautiful town and we were lucky enough to experience the Festival du Loire which was magical. Best holiday we have ever had in France. Thank you Vincent x

We had a wonderful stay in this very special house overlooking the river Loire. The house was beautifully clean and well equipped so it felt like a real home from home. The house is well looked after and we were shown everything we needed to know at check in. The house is in a very peaceful and serene location. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The house has a veranda overlooking the river where we sat watching the birds flying home to roost. This was followed by a display of acrobatics from the local bats. We enjoyed cycling to Orléans and enjoyed spending time at the local Base de Loisirs where the kids could swim and do accrobranche. Communication with the owner couldn’t have been better. We’d love to return!

This is a lovely house situated between the Loire river and canal. It is a quite location with one local restaurant. It is well situated for running along the canal and river paths. Is also good for cycling. Orlean is easy to get to using the park and ride from St Bray. We visited Chambord chateau which is an hour away. Overall we spent a relaxing and enjoyable week here.

The neighbourhood is excellent for biking, canoying ,hiking and even running in the morning. The house has everything in it what you might need. Vincent has done a terrific job.

Fronting onto the Loire and backing onto the Orleans canal, if you like water and wildlife you will be in heaven. The house is comfortable and very well equipped. It is well situated for hiking or cycling directly from the house along the river or canal. There is plenty of bird life so take binoculars. We had a great week thankyou Vincent.

The kitchen could be a little more modern, but workable. Access to the third bedroom is through the second bedroom, which could be an issue for some parties.

We have just spent 2 weeks at this lovely villa of Vincent Gien who was a very gracious host. The villa is located on the Loire river with a splendid view to awaken to every day. There are several small towns with markets and restaurants within a few kilometers and Orleans which is a lovely town to walk around and both shop and eat out at terrific restaurants and only several kilometers away. There are lovely walking/biking trails all around the villa area which is located in a UNESCO protected area. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

We have had a great stay in this beautifull house. It is perfectly placed on the Loire. Not too close to the road but with a great view from the terrace. The weather we had was great and we could sit all day long in the sun. The house is well equiped. We would certainly recommend this house. And bring your bikes with you....

This home has the best view of the Loire and the forest beyond that can be found. Our many meals on the amazing front porch were fabulous. This home is located so well that all the castles of the Loire Valley and all other attractions are easily reachable We found the owners Vincent and Sophie to be very friendly and amiable. They both speak English and are conversant about the USA and England. The house itself is fully equipped and is eminently livable. Our month there was just what we had hoped for and more. If we return to the region we would stay nowhere else. We can recommend the Villa Chanterive and its owners without reservation.

The beautiful vacation home was very comfortable, clean, and had all the amenities! Our hostess was very friendly and helpful. The owner provided a notebook outlining information needed for the house, grocery stores, bus stops, bakery, restaurants, short or daily sightseeing trips, and very informative local information. We truly enjoyed the view and walks along the Loire in the sun. The evenings were filled with an inviting fireplace sipping wine and enjoying our desserts from the best bakery. We shopped local and made wonderful meals as the kitchen is fully equipped. The 5 minute walk to the delicious restaurant on the Loire was very enjoyable and like a storybook vacation. The location of the home is very convenient for days trips to Paris, visiting local Loire castles as Chambord, or a beautiful country drive. The owner truly has a beautiful home as depicted in the photos and made our vacation very memorable. We are already planning our return vacation for next year. We highly recommend this vacation home to couples for romantic getaways and families! You will not be disappointed and the owner was very responsive and more than helpful making our vacation even more spectacular!

From the initial enquiry to arrival and departure, everything about this property was perfect. The house was fully equipped and very clean. Everything was more than what we expected, better than the photos protrayed. The house was very comfortable, as were the bedding. Large outdoor space and plenty of secure storage underneath the house for our bikes. The view from the house was fantastic and the area was peaceful, but near all amenities. A lovely restaurant nearby, (500mtrs) where we had a beautiful meal and night out. Miles and miles of cycling outside the gate. Just decide to turn left or right!! As well as cycling, we also availed of canoeing, for hire locally, and visited nearby towns, Chateaus, etc. incl Paris. ( 1 1/2 hrs by car) We spent 3 weeks here and hope to return as the house and the area was just perfect. The owner and the owners representative were at all times courteous, pleasant, and helpful. We highly recommend this property.

La maison a son propre charme. Il est niché avec de belles vues sur la Loire. L'ensemble du domaine est attractif. Dans la région, il existe de nombreuses destinations pour tous les goûts. La maison est propre, dispose de suffisamment d'espace et est équipée de tout ce dont vous avez besoin en vacances, y compris un bon WiFi. La petite chambre des enfants est une pièce de passage, ce qui n'a pas dérangé notre garçon. De toute façon, nous étions dehors dans le grand jardin bien protégé toute la journée. Comme petit conseil, peut-être une moustiquaire sur l'auvent.... en raison de la saison, les guêpes étaient un peu gênantes en mangeant.... Mais ce n'est qu'un clin d'oeil :) Nous étions très satisfaits !

Das Haus befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Loire und ist toll gelegen. Die Einrichtung ist von guter Qualität und vollständig, wobei sich da und dort gewisse Alterserscheinungen zeigen (z. B. Duschtüre, Geschirrschrank). Von den drei Schlafzimmern ist ein Zimmer gefangen und das davorliegende ziemlich klein (mit Stockbetten). Die Beschreibung sollte diesbezüglich nachgebessert werden. Die Zufahrt zum Gelände ist für grössere Fahrzeuge (z. B. Ford Mondeo Kombi) eng.

Wer im Urlaub Ruhe und Erholung sucht, im Grünen sitzen und auf den ruhigen Fluss schauen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Das charmante Häuschen mit großem Garten und altem Nussbaum liegt malerisch zwischen Loire und Canal d'Orleans. Schon morgens kann man vom Bett aus den Fluss genießen und später auf der sonnigen Terrasse den Tag planen oder ausklingen lassen. Ausflüge, z. B. nach Orléans, sind mit dem Rad in kurzer Zeit möglich. Auch Joggen lässt es sich hier wunderbar. Die Lauf- und Fahrradwege sind flach, grün und herrlich entspannt. Vogel-Freunde können den ganzen Tag das Treiben am Wasser beobachten. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war vorab sehr unkompliziert und hilfreich. Vielen Dank, Vincent! Wer kochen will, findet eine große Küche mit sämtlichem Equipment vor - wir haben es allerdings genossen, die Restaurants in der Umgebung zu erkunden ("La Marine" ist nur wenige Schritte entfernt und malerisch mit Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang gelegen, "Les Toqués" etwa 10 min mit dem Rad an der Loire entlang Richtung Orléans). Das Haus und die Einrichtung sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Man sollte also keine Hochglanz-Unterkunft erwarten, sondern den Charme dieses Ferienhauses genießen. Noch ein Tipp: Der nächste Supermarkt "Auchan" ist mit Rad oder Auto in 15-20 min erreichbar (sonntags bis 12:30 Uhr geöffnet). Wer aber sehr spät ankommt, sollte sich die wichtigsten Dinge (z. B. Toilettenpapier, Kaffee fürs Frühstück usw.) am besten mitbringen, um die erste Nacht zu überbrücken...

Maison de famille très agréable : pratique, très bien équipée avec un joli jardin. Ce gîte est au bord de la Loire, vue magnifique de la terrasse ! Combleux est très bien situé, tout est accessible en vélo, 20 min d'Orléans sur pistes cyclables sécurisées.

Vincent ist ein sehr netter Gastgeber und er erzählte und bei der Ankunft es gab Schwierigkeiten mit der Putzfrau, aber jetzt wäre alles in Ordnung. Leider konnten wir das in den ersten Tagen so nicht feststellen. Das Haus ist wirklich sehr hübsch, aber es gibt so viele Schränke in denen sich irgendwelche Dinge befinden und man findet eigentlich alles was man so zum Leben braucht, man muss nur lange genug suchen. Es gibt in Deutschland ein Wort dafür: Unordentlich. Als Beispiel das Bild von der Terrasse in der Anzeige hier. Wir suchten vergeblich nach einer Tischdecke, der Sonnenschirm auf dem Bild war auch nicht zu finden. Es standen andere Stühle (Plastik) auf der Terrasse und wir konnten leider nicht selber einen solchen Tisch dort decken. Hier sollte dann die Wirklichkeit auch auf dem Bild dargestellt werden. Zur Sauberkeit; Das gesamte Haus war schon länger nicht mehr Grund gereinigt worden. Alles war irgendwie angeschmuddelt. Vom Lampenschirm, über Türrahmen, etc.. Überall hätte man mal drüber wischen können. Die Badezimmer waren einigermaßen sauber und wir sind selbst wirklich nicht empfindlich, trotzdem mussten wir noch selber einiges putzen, auch in der Küche um doch ein bisschen mehr Sauberkeit zu bekommen. Unsere Empfehlung, das Haus müsste mal komplett ausgeräumt werden und dann neu eingeräumt, damit mal alle Dinge ordentlich verstaut sind ;-) Und vieles könnte auch einfach weg.... Die Lage ist natürlich ein Traum und wir haben viele Radtouren von dort unternommen.

Merveilleusement située entre Loire et canal, cette maison offre un cadre magnifique pour des vacances. Vaste jardin, véhicule à l'abri, il ne reste qu'à s'y laisser vivre, entendre les chants d'oiseaux, et regarder couler la Loire aux couleurs changeantes. Ce lieu est un véritable havre de paix.
