Step back in time.

Phillipe is an excellent host, great communication, flexible arrival times and he prepared a delicious and generous breakfast with home made yogurt and crepes! The location is quiet and the room spacious with level access to a big wide wet room/shower. We were the only guests. The building is charming and full of history, so different to chain hotel! Very friendly cat in residence.

Not sure if the shower was for our exclusive use as it could be accessed from a corridor, it didn’t make a difference to us as we were the only guests, but you may want to check when booking.

Clean, safe and quiet.

Wonderful oasis. Huge, interesting and quirky building. Excellent host. Lovely bedroom, garden, breakfast. Outdoor above ground lounge pool. I’d walked and my host was kind enough to provide an evening meal. Bathroom was good as was everything. I wanted to stay longer. Lots of seating in an amazing secure courtyard garden. Parrot and cat. WIFI OK.

Breakfast was ok, just yogurt toast and jam. Woukd have liked fresh bread or a croissant and a kettle in the Tom as we were travelling since the day before. It was late whe we arrived and would have liked a hot drink.

Huge family suite, characterful property, very quiet area. Friendly cat.

No room key given - bolt didn't work, so room was left unlocked at all times! Shoes had to be removed before going upstairs to room. Restaurant shut as owner was entertaining friends.

Family friendly hostel style room great for stopover stay

Family could all stay together in adjoining rooms with shared bathroom. Breakfast and dinner at location. Fairly close to our route home to Calais. The host was very busy serving everyone- very impressive to do it all alone. The church bells were quite fun to be woken up by! The parrot was also quite amusing.

No lock on the door. Nothing in the surrounding area so location felt strange. Breakfast was very limited, expected a croissant at least. Dinner was ok but we were unsure what was on the menu, it would have been nice to know what was happening. The toilet was very noisy in our room (macerater) and we didn’t have enough towels for one each. It felt a bit like a hostel.

Overall a great first stay in France.

The host was very nice and polite despite how little French we spoke. He was very welcoming even though we showed up very late after accidentally going to the wrong address. It was fascinating to learn about the history of the house and its connection with the Templars and the church next door.

I didn't know that the bathroom was separate from the room and my wife felt a little strange about that.

what is there not to like, it is purely amazing, the scenery, the location, the amazing house/mansion/big… was so shocked at what we got for the price 😍, they have a tiki pizzeria on site.. 45 seconds walk from bedroom to pizza 🍕…. I always do my research 🧐, and this is by far best, not only this all included in the price you pay, you have the owners,,, and wow,, the kindest most generous we have come across, uk-France-Spain-Norway-Germany….. if you don’t believe me, then this is a must try for any traveller/couple/family…. pool in the garden, bbq 🍗 in back garden, and plenty of space to have a lovely meal, with great company,,,, truly bliss ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️…….

We couldn’t stay long enough :) the only thing I’m going to say is, for everyone saying about breakfast, which I think is an unfair score, I’m sure if you asked for a bit of ham and cheese, I’m sure they would gladly help, I had mushroom and ham pizza with my girl it was divine… 20 seconds from the kitchen where breakfast is provided, also there is a shop just down the road before you get there, so grab some extras from there, a whole kitchen to use, so I think the scores for food are ridiculous, this is the place to be…..

Picturesque location and maison. We really liked it. The host was very friendly.

The rate was inexpensive so we did not expect a big breakfast. But maybe add som ham and cheese in addition to the marmelade.

So peaceful best night's sleep I've had in years although there was a language barrier I found philipe friendly and helpful and he has the most wonderful pizza restaurant in his back yard you must try this out if you stay .philippe it would be good to have a kettle in the room though

creative and cosy stay

Such a lovely stay in a creative and cosy space...Phillipe made us feel very welcome, and his adjoining delicious pizza restaurant is a real bonus in such a quiet rural area..a great place to visit if travelling through France. Clean and comfy, quiet and wonderfully thought out..friendly cats, canaries and parrots too..would heartily recommend :)

rather disappointing

We could not find a hotel close to the highway, so we decided to go further into the countryside. This B&B did not open till 5 P.M. and the pizzeria which was supposedly opened in case we arrived earlier did not open till 6:30 p.m. ?? Pizzeria was attached to the B & B and the food was decent. Breakfast was disappointing and on your own if needed before 8:30 a.m. Don't know if this B&B is fairly new as a business, but it is hopefully a work in progress... Interesting setting..

We loved the ‘house’ rather than hotel feel of the place, typically French!

The location (half way between Calais and the Dordogne). The facilities (swimming pool, pool table, kitchen, terrace). The large family rooms were a huge draw for us. You really feel as if you are staying in a house instead of a hotel room. The owner speaks little to no English so brush up on your French before visiting!

Some of the rooms have a shared bathroom facility, initially I was concerned but it was absolutely fine. Also the lock on the door is very flimsy (like a toilet slide bolt lock) which some people may be concerned about. Be aware breakfast is very simple, tea/coffee/toast but suited us.

Please don't ask guests to remove their shoes inside the property, my wife nearly fell down the stairs. Room had no key either. Confused instructions about breakfast and whether we served ourselves or it was served by staff.
