The townhouse was very clean upon arrival and we were very happy with the size of the unit. Great location too! Only hitch was I feel some of the furnishings could use a refresh. Otherwise great place to stay in Key West!

This property was in a great location. Upon entry it seem to be a great place...... Until it wasn't. We noticed our feet were black from walking barefoot in the house, that's when we knew we had to take a closer look around. The carpet in the living room was so filthy, and when we checked out plates, utensils, etc,.... We felt the need to put everything in the dishwasher. There was a busted end table in the bedroom, broken blinds throughout the home and mold in one of the bathrooms. This is definitely not what we expected for the money we paid. We did bring it to the attention of the owner and he said he would address the situation. So be mindful if you decide to rent this property. Just a friendly heads up

While we enjoyed the layout of the house, we all felt many aspects were not ver clean. The rug in the living room was extremely dirty to the point that we didn’t feel comfortable walking on it with bare feet. The same could be said regarding the sofa - please reupholster this asap. There was also mold in the second full bathroom.

The best place to stay in Key West! The location is ideal. Walking distance to anything and everything (Duval, Southern Buoy, beach, shopping, Truman House, Hemingway House). It’s in a very safe and quiet community and the pool is very private. Checking in and out was super easy and we had no issues with the house. I would recommend staying here!

This is a great house for a family vacation. However there is a public parking lot that is behind the back patio shrubbery, which was a loud party spot several nights. Music, shouting, cars coming and going. It was so loud we couldn’t use the back patio. It culminated our last night with an empty liquor bottle being thrown at the French doors, and breaking all over the patio. We were inside and as the doors don’t have any curtains, felt quite exposed. We never engaged with anyone, ever, not sure why it was done. I left a message with the management company and a note to the cleaning crew, but never heard back from anyone.

This was our 4th Christmas in Key West and by far the best property we’ve stayed in. The location and neighborhood are excellent. The property had everything we needed, especially in the kitchen (pots, pans, Tupperware, spices, etc.) The three full bedrooms are quite generous, all with TVs, and two with full ensuites. The back porch is so spacious and plenty of space to store bikes. The pool is heated, which was needed since it was unseasonably chilly while we visited. I’d definitely stay here again, especially because the management was so responsive and helpful.

Our stay at Tropical State of Mind was magical. We were in town for 8 days to celebrate our wedding. The location is perfect. Complex is private, serene, quiet, and close to Mallory Square and all the action on Duval Street. The salt water pool was beautiful, clean and although shared, was very private. The condo was spacious, had a well equipped kitchen, and bathrooms were very updated and spacious, especially the master bath. The only compliant that I have (very minor), is that there should have been some toilet paper and paper towels stocked in the unit. We did run out of toilet paper in the master bath and had to run out to CVS to stock up the next day. There is a CVS close by on Truman that was very convenient, helpful staff (including the pharmacy) and huge parking lot. The back deck was very nice, private and equipped with table, chairs, grill and beach chairs. This is a lovely property and we would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others.

Very convenient to all of Key West. We had bikes delivered and we’re able to ride everywhere. The condo is secluded in a quiet neighborhood. The pool is steps from the front door, we practically had it to ourselves. The master bedroom could use a little attention. It has a PC, WiFi, TV and DVR. These devices along with the light from the motion light on the deck and the parking lot, made the room a little to bright for my personal sleeping preference. The bed could use an update as well, just a little loose and noisy. The neighborhood has gates that close at 6 pm. It appeared that residents had keys to use the gates rather than having to go the main entrance. It was unclear if our unit had such a key. Note of these would keep me from booking again. It’s a great condo in a great spot.

Great property within walking distance to all major Key West attractions. Quiet, relaxing community away from the hustle. Residence was exactly as advertised. Our host was also accessible and provided us with some very helpful tips that added to our enjoyment that week. Everyone in our group had a wonderful and relaxing time. I just stayed at this property last week to enjoy a return visit to Key West with family. To start with the positives, I will say that this is the best part of Key west to stay in with family. It is in a quiet, beautiful and safe part of the island, close enough but away from the partying crowd. This was a priority given we were there with young kids. There was a neat splash pad around the corner that many folks brought small children to in order to cool off. The complex is also close enough to walk to the southernmost point to watch the sunsets! The unit was clean and neat and very comfortable. The water pressure and air conditioning worked great for being as hot as it was. We used the outdoor grill to cook breakfast and also a fresh catch from a fishing trip. We had to change the propane tank but there was a spare conveniently stored in the outdoor storage cabinet. I will concur with aforementioned reviews that the furniture is worn and needs to be replaced but it worked just fine. The beds were comfortable as were the linens. Beach towels were also available for use. The washer and dryer worked well and came in very handy. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking and eating utensils. I suggest you make a list to go purchase basic groceries you will need at the local Winn Dixie grocery store when you arrive. The grocery stores are not in walking distance but we had rented a car so we didn’t have any concerns. We were able to use Instacart app for things we needed to restock and have delivered from the Publix grocery market. In terms of communication, I suggest that the rental company send future renters a map of the property. Our GPS wasn’t picking up on it. We arrived at night, it was dark and I regretted having to call and disturb the owner for instructions to his unit. He was so very kind and made sure I got to the unit before ending the call. I really appreciated that! I did have a minor concern with communication with the rental office. We found that there were 2 coffee makers either not working or missing parts so I called the rental office, was told I would get a response within a day and they never responded. We just went ahead and purchased a 5 cup coffee maker from the local CVS. I mention this so the owner can ensure the rental company stays on top of renters needs no matter how minor. Overall, we had a fabulous family vacation and would return to this location again in a heartbeat!

Great location to Duval Street. It was nice and private. The key we were provided did not always work in the gates to get into the property, and it would have been nice to have that system explained to us before our arrival. The furniture was a little run down in the family room, the cushions were stained. The patio was dirty. The grill had no gas and was dirty. We had planned on cooking out but with no gas and the shape the grill was in we decided not to. We would have provided gas if the grill was a little cleaner.The pool was just outside the condo which was great. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. They provided basic necessities which was very nice. We were there during Football bowl week so it was very nice to be able to watch the games. Good T.V. selection. We liked staying in the Annex but I think I will try a different condo next time. Again the convenience to Duval Street is amazing.

We stayed here over Memorial Day and absolutely loved it. It's within a short walk of the beach and downtown, but secluded and quiet too. The home is immaculate, beautiful and had everything we needed. Reserved parking, pool literally right outside the door. The private patio was a highlight and we tried to enjoy all our meals out there even though it was starting to get a bit warm outside! Highly recommend and will be back!

Once again we had a great stay in this condo! We stayed here last year and couldn't wait to come back with our kids. The rooms are tastefully decorated and having 2.5 bathrooms was very convenient. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed and there were pool toys and noodles for the kids. The pool is excellent and right out the front door. We spent hours floating and playing! The condo is wonderfully convenient to Duval St and Sunset Pier. We were able to walk with our small kids and watch the sunset celebration nightly. All the activities, shopping, and restaurants are just a short walk away! I highly recommend this condo and we hope to stay here again!

What an awesome rental home! We rented this place for Spring break with our 2 college kids and it was perfect. Loved the decorating, accommodations, kitchen, back porch, and spacious bedrooms! We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go - Duval Street, shopping, dive shop, boating! Boys went fishing one day and we grilled their catch for dinner!! A wonderful family vacation and a wonderful place to stay! We will definitely stay here on our next Keys return!

This was our family's 4th vacation to Key West and this condo was, by far, the best rental we have had! It set the scene for our most relaxing, enjoyable vacation yet! We have 2 young children (ages 4 and 7) and traveled with our babysitter. The condo was just perfect for our family. There is ample space for everyone and it's very tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking equipment, serving dishes, glasses. The wine fridge was a total bonus! The owners had supplied a pack n play and a booster seat/high chair, which was ideal. All 5 of us slept so well - the beds were incredibly comfortable! The bathrooms were very clean and the condo overall is very well maintained. We really enjoyed the convenient location. Duval is close enough but not too close. We never heard the nighttime crowd, even on St. Patrick's Day. We were able to walk to Sunset Pier in 15 minutes with our kids. We rented a car for the drive to and from Fort Lauderdale, but we rarely used it in Key West. This condo location is great for people who want to bike or walk. There is free off-street parking available; you just need to get a pass from the guard. We felt very safe and secure here. We loved the pool! It is a good size and the water was comfortably heated. There were a few pool floats at the condo and our kids really enjoyed them! Evenings on the porch were very relaxing. I highly recommend renting this condo. We are already planning our trip back next year!

We rented the property to match the interests of our children - 19-24 and us - 50. The location is PERFECT. Duval and all that the quaint part of Key West has to offer is easily accessible in quick walking distance. The house is spacious and accommodated the 5 of us very easily. The private, heated pool for residents was also a very welcome and relaxing treat. We fished in the morning leasing boats from the Marina, swam in the pool in the afternoons and wandered between restaurants and entertainment venues in the evening. All voted it the best vacation we've had together in the past 5 years.

We spend a week in Key West every year around the holiday break. This year we rented this house. It was perfect. We have kids that range from 12-23 and we need convenience and flexibility in location - this had it all. The complex is adorable and private enough that you have some quiet. The community pool is right around the corner - close to get to quickly but no noise is heard from the house. The house was spotless and all we needed was there for us. Very nice TVs in every room! The owner was very easy to deal with. I had a last minute change where we had to travel on Christmas vs the day after and they were quick to respond and get us into the house a day early. They also assisted when we had a late departure and needed a place to store our luggage for a few hours. The location cannot be beat. Close enough to Duval and all the fun/crazy stuff but far enough away that you don't hear a thing. We had bikes and did not need a taxi unless it was to/from the airport. The bike ride to the beach is great. We highly recommend a few places we love in this area: Blue Heaven (best breakfast!!) - worth the wait to get in Santiago's - Amazing tapas restaurant. We go every year. Charter boat (small, but perfect) on "take me there charters" Captain Tom is fabulous and makes it a great day for you and your family. We did see a show at the Red Barn. Not something we would usually plan to do but since we were in KW on Christmas we wanted to do something different. It was very entertaining and I would recommend this as well. If you stay here, you will NOT be disappointed.

My husband and I, along with our twin 2 year old boys, stayed at this home with my parents for a week and it could not have been more perfect! The home is beautifully decorated and landscaped and each room has its own flat screen tv! The owner left the home fully stocked for us, which was much appreciated. The pool, which is about 15 steps from the front door, was large, heated and uncrowded. All of the landscaping surrounding this townhouse complex is spectacular. The home is in a perfect location in Key West, close to Mallory Square, Duval Street, and Fort Zach beach. We were able to ride bikes everywhere we wanted to go. We would definitely stay here again!

My girlfriend and our kids/young adults just returned from seven days in Key West and stayed at the Ocean Retreat. It's a beauiful, recently remodeled condo inside the gated Truman Annex. We'd definitely return! There is a lovely, decent sized pool less than 100 feet from the door steps. Ft Zachary State Park and beach is about a half mile walk. Our first day was spent snorkeling around the rock at the beach where we saw a lot of fun and interesting fish - an inexpensive adventure that the kids loved. Duvall and all its offerings are only about 4 blocks away. The Truman Annex offers a quiet area to spend your evenings. Our children are ages 13 - 19 and we had no concerns leaving them their alone when we ventured downtown for a nice dinner on our own. I'm not sure that we'd have the same comfort level at some of the other VRBO properties we considered. The condo itself is very clean and well equipped. Full kitchen stocked with all the necessary cooking and eating utensils. Nice porch and garden area with a gas grill we used to do up some hot dogs for lunch one day.. The three bedrooms were nice sized. The 2 3/4-baths and one 1/4-bath worked well for us and the kids/young adults. Every room had a TV with cable, which the kids/young audults thought was great, although we didn't spend much time watching them. Linens, including beach towels, were available. The washer and dryer came in handy. We didn't come home with alot of laundry to do - very nice for those of us that do the laundry. While in Key West, we did a snorkeling trip, parasailing and a jet ski tour of Key West. If you buy your trips from Flury (one of several adventure vendors in town), you get a 10% discount on all adventures after the first (buy the cheapest one first?). The jet ski tour was more of an adventure than my girlfriend was expect. She was thinking something slow, liesurely, and educational. There were a couple educational moments, but we hit 50+ mph several times on the Gulf side and the Atlantic side was a bit rough (3 - 4 ft rollers). I and the kids (2 girls and 1 boy) thought it was a blast! The only thing we wanted to do and missed out on (because of high seas) was a snuba trip, which was highly recommended by a friend. We flew into Miami, rented a car and drove down. We mostly walked once we were at Key West. The trip down was long at 5.5 hours do to slow traffic through Key Largo and Islamorda. The trip back to the airport was a more normal 3 hours.
