The house was big and comfortable with plenty of equipment. The garden was a little disappointing as a bit unkempt and no hot tub as advertised. We ordered bedding for one room but it didn’t arrive until the second day and there was a lot of difficulty getting in contact with the host to sort that. The road alongside the house was very noisy. But the location to the beach and a range of activities was excellent

Lovely property with excellent amenities, stayed with family & a friend. Kentigern gave us a lovely welcome, explaining all and left a welcoming gift too which was very much appreciated. We had a lovely week in Lion Sur Mar as 2 families with 3 children under 3. The house is well equipped and very close to the beach, supermarket, boulangerie and a couple of restaurants. Not a huge amount to do in local area but short drive to other beach towns and Caen. Be aware that towels and linen are not included and are quite costly to hire. Check in and out was a little confusing as we were meant to be met by a house keeper for both but this is not mentioned on website.

This was a great property, spacious, and immaculately maintained. Juliette, Christophe, and their assistant, Sylviane, were superb hosts. We were in Normandy for D-Day commemoration week and this is an ideal location for any activities related to that. Plus we rented a car and there is a place to park a car off the street at the property. Perfect location. Highly recommend this property! Thank you, Juliette, Christophe, and Sylviane!

August 3-10/2019. Arrived later than we should have and we were greeted like a friend. The beach house was better than expected, large, clean, well equipped and a superb location. The sea-shore was less than 200 metres, Carrefour about the same distance. Great boulangeries for fresh baguettes, brioche and croissants. Overall a tremendous property, great caretaker and owners who communicate exceptionally well. 5*****

it was every thing we expected.we went with 2 jeeps for d-day and found the location spot on. the meeting with corrine was very pleasant.[ thank you corrine]. being 4 men not all the appliances were used but every thing was supplied. a very enjoyable week.thank once again Juliette,Christopher and corrine.

We arrived to a leaking bathroom with guttering screwed into the ceiling and towels around the bath soaking up the drips. By the third day there was water dripping from the ventilation duct and ceiling light necessitating a bucket on the floor and the bathroom out of action. The lovely Corinne was very helpful but suprised this was not mentioned prior to our arrival, not much you can do when you arrive at 8 o'clock at night with a three year old and ageing in-laws. Make sure you take your own towels and bedding as we were overcharged for two doubles and a single bed, plus two towels each. No chance the beds were made on arrival, and we were very clearly made aware that it was our job to strip them on departure. We were told to vacuum the upstairs; of course we would if we made a mess, however we paid a huge cleaning charge. Unfortunately to cap it all beware the ridiculously large deposit. You will not get it all back because of bank fees or Paypal fees and so further costs. (This should be done through the company website and not with the owners). Sadly no apology offered for the state of the bathroom and no compensation. Perhaps we were naive however we have never had such poor service or communication after a holiday which fell short of expectation. We won't be returning or using the company again.

Perfect accommodations for our stay. The house had everything we needed. Christophe was quick with his responses to my questions and Corinne who greeted us was very helpful. There were brochures for sights to see in the area and we took the advice of getting fresh seafood in Ouistreham, which provided for a wonderful final nights meal! Our only regret is that we should have had more time in the area. It was a nice and peaceful break from the chaos of Paris. It is a perfect house for a family or in our case a group of friends that are like family. Having two toilets and bathrooms is a plus! Thanks for a lovely stay.

We (two families with kids) enjoyed staying in Lion-sur-mer. The house has everything needed for a great holiday and it's just a five minute walk to the beach. We were pleasantly surprised that there are lots of plates, glasses, cutlery etc so you don't have to do the dishes after every little snack. A bit unfortunate was that the dishwasher had broken down before we arrived and it was not possible to get the repair/replacement done during our stay. Christophe and Corinne (the "local" lady who gave us the keys) are very friendly and easily approachable.

A superb property!!!! Situated in a lovely quiet seaside village, only 2 minutes walk from an amazing long sandy, safe beach. Communication with the owner was easy, any questions responded to quickly and every effort on their part was made to ensure a great holiday. You week be greeted buggy the helpful host Carin who ensures you have everything you need and understand how everything works. The house its recently redecorated with modern facilities, the kitchen is wonderful and very well equipped.The Windows opening onto the terrace in the garden were excellent. The equipment for our baby was clean, new and well maintained. The location is superb, across from small supermarket and two boulangeries within 5 minutes walk. Well situated for D Day history, Bayeaux and Mont St Michel. All in all, fantastic and highly recommended

May 2017 We had a wonderful holiday at L'Epi Bleu with our two children 4 and 18 months. The house is in a perfect location to shop, restaurants and the beach, all within 2-10 mins walk. The beach is perfect for young children with a wonderful place to have lunch and a drink. The house is perfectly equipped with a lovely garden to enjoy the sun and a BBQ. We couldn't have been more happy with Christophe's help before and during the holiday. We will definetly go back for another holiday!

This gite is one of the best we have stayed in. It is spacious, lots of nice design features combines modern and older character, all the equipment you might need. It is in a quiet residential area with lots of character buildings. The patio and French windows are really nice. The beach is a 4 minute walk, Lion is a nice quiet unpretentious town, supermarket, boulangerie all in easy walking distance. Christophe the owner is great to deal with, very organised and good communication. Thanks to his Dad Davide for coming out to sort out the washing machine.

We had such a great stay in Normandy! My husband, myself and our 4 children were welcomed so warmly by Corrine. She was an absolute delight!! So friendly and kind and VERY helpful with any questions we had. She walked us through the whole house and explained everything. We spoke with the owner, Christophe, who was also so kind and friendly. He was eager to answer questions and made himself available to help make our trip a success. We were so comfortable in the beautiful cottage. The beds were so comfy, the showers were warm and powerful. The kitchen was well-equipped to cook and the location was awesome. We walked to the grocery, the bakery and the pizza place. We had such a nice time and I hope to visit again!!!

Wir haben zwei wunderbare Ferienwochen im Gite L' epis bleu verbracht. In der direkten Nachbarschaft ist alles, was man braucht und in der näheren Umgebung finden sich jede Menge interessanter Ausflugsziele jeglicher Art. Das Haus liegt nur einen Katzensprung vom Meer entfernt und ist sehr gut ausgerüstet. Die Einrichtung ist eine gelungene Mischung aus Alt und Neu. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und auch die sympathische Betreuung vor Ort war hervorragend.

We spent a lovely holiday in L'Epi Bleu visiting family in the Normandy. The house is well equipped for larger families (incl. young childen). A very short walk to the beach and the beachside promenade for people all ages, no matter what the weather is like, is very enjoyable. The road at the end of the enclosed garden, hidden behind a large hedgerow had quite a bit of traffic during the day however was no problem at night whatsowever. Sufficient parking space is available on site. Plenty of sites to see in the Normandy! We very much enjoyed the event "Art au Jardin" enabling to visit many lovely gardens as well as the chateau in St Lion sur Mer.
